Dose anyone know what faction Ran is and how to improve it?

Jagged Pine Treefolk- kill a bazillion gnolls in blackburrow. I took level 53 necro pet and went through killing everything in sight for a couple hours- just checked Ran- went from scowls to glares. Eventually will have druid faction fixed. And I know I am atypical- most necros make it a personal goal to kill all druids!
I believe he's on Protector of the Pines faction and as far as I know, only way to raise factions with them is to do quests for the rangers and druids of Surefall. If you're KoS to Ran, you'll be KoS to Hagar and all the rest of the guild trainers in Surefall.

This guy is TOUGH! I took my 28 necro there to give him a shot. He starts with snare then dotted me then pounded my pet and I down in 10 seconds.
