I wanted to beat this ******* down. Why did he have to die?

This guy has died years ago and I never saw the defiled grizzly for some reason, does anyone know when/where he spawns or if he does spawn or not?

While he has vanished a while ago, only recently can I confirm it, despite being in Qeynos for many Levels. If you want confirmation, see the rivervale voice (The newspaper in Rivervale, in case you don't know, the vendor is near the bank entrance on the opposite side of the PoD).

Part of the new investigator's badge quest describes how a bear killed Cros., Check it out in the quest section, it's new today.

ok since he is dead now, and the bear is in his place, what are the stats on the stats and what can use it?

people have been saying to me that cros got replaced with a grizzly but i never seen him does anyone know what the grizzly look like and where it spawns?

two NPC's. They were tired from chasing everybody
down. They just croaked from exhaustion. Well,
good riddens bothersome foe, hehehehehe.

I don't believe his staff is used for any quest, just there to add some flavor to the game. On my server (Xegony) last Sunday, a GM-controlled Holly Windstalker appeared in Qeynos Hills, shouting for Cros and wondering where he was. A guildmate of mine shouted back that he was dead, then went to Holly at the Surefall zone line and gave her his staff as proof (We had killed the Defiled a few times during the past week). For my friend's troubles, Holly gave him a Raincaller, then asked him to say a few words at the memorial service she was about to hold for him.

After enough people showed up near Surefall, Holly began the service and had my guildmate say a few words -- apparently the GM liked what he said enough to reward him with a Bag of the Tinkerers! Needless to say, it was quite a pleasant surprise :)

I've heard reports elsewhere of Holly appearing and looking for Cros on other servers recently, and giving out rewards, including Bags of the Tinkerer, so you may want to keep your eyes open if you're in the Qeynos Hills area....

Hmm, I wonder if the staff droped by the defiled grizzly is used for a new quest. Since it seems to belong to Cros it might be that he will respawn once in a while. Maybe he gives a hint about his staff, maybe if you turn it in you get an even better item. Who knows. If you see him and have a good faction with him, please hail him and post his awnser here. Cros, Holly and any of the tree-hugging NPCs in Surefall will kill you if a bear or wolf engages you. It doesn't matter if you try to defend yourself or not. I found out the hard way when I sat down at the mouth of the bear cave in Surefall when a cub attacked me and I was slaughtered trying to escape.

When a bunch of friends and my self were killing the millers and newbie guards at Surefall (who cares about Qeynos faction anyway?), we decided to get back at Cross and Holly for all the times they killed us when we were young. Well we rounded them up and they both went down easily,and now every time i get ported to a Druid ring that has the "A Druid" NPCs around it (or treants) they all attack me. it was pretty funny to see a cleric training all the enhabitants of the Druid ring in North Karana to the bridge after my groups druid evaced us there. My point, he is not worth killing unless you wanna so some major faction work, or never get ported by druids again, whichever you prefer.

He killed my 28 ogre shaman in about 30 seconds, didn't even break a sweat.
