Sometimes you can see Chanda and Baobob sitting right on top of each other right near a fire near Surefall Glade. I wonder if they ever fart on each other....LOL

I'm a lvl 11 Erudite Enchantress. Just got the belt, boots, and got another belt for my sister. LOVE the boots. I want to get the robe. Twice I have given her a high-quality bear hide and the right amount of gold pieces, cast alliance, and she says something like "Um, do I know you?" Keeps the gold and the hide! What now?
Since these guys give those Bear and Wolf Hide Armor quests, the post from Anoriae says that the Rangers and Druids don't like the Millers, and finally they DO attack human and half elf druids even if they have done nothing with faction, I have reason to believe that they are poachers.
So, when starting a ranger or druid in Surefall Glade, be aware that the Millers do not take kindly to your hide.

Correct. Chanda and Baobob were orphans who were brought up and raised in the glade. But Baobob started poaching and selling wolf skin items for money and then convinced his sister to do the same, so they expelled them.
I was walking by them after creating a new Druid Half Elf, and they attacked me. Both at once. Brand new character, so I know they didn't have faction against me. Anyone explain that?

I just finished getting two bear hide belts but chanda wouldnt make the cloak for me.. So I gated back to Riv and finally bought "treeform".
Then got SOWed in Riv and ran all the way back to Queynos Hills. This time Chanda was standing half way between the Camp fire and Blackburrow entrance. I cast tree form and rooted on her toes. hailed her agin and she made me the cloak no problem as a tree.
nice cloak and belt. I want boots to match but havent found a medium skin yet...
Anyone know how to get the handmade backpack? Is it with an HQ bear pelt? Who makes it?
The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me. Several posts in here swear up and down,"She can't backstab for 120-150...she's a ranger!!" Well, lets weigh the evidence. The simple fact is that she DOES backstab for 120-150 any chance she gets. Aparently, the only eveidence to support her being a ranger is that she happens to never move her half elven butt from that fire by Surefall Glade. Not only that, but if you ask around in Surefall Glade, they have no lost love for the Millers...even hinting that they are nothing more than poachers...whom rangers despise (just ask Holly). It is beyond obvious that Chanda is a rogue. I THINK that Baobob is a warrior. He has about 200 more hit points than his sister at the same level, and he kicks and I don't THINK he ever did backstab like his sister. He also has much much higher magic resistance. I don't think Chanda resisted snare once...and certainly not careless lightning...but Baobob did often, making me run around like a madman trying to snare him. I can't swear to it, but it seemed like he ran at sow speed if unsnared too. I would run what I thought was a safe distance to stop and try to snare him, only to find him right on top of me...and I was in wolf form. Please...anyone who says that she is a ranger has never tangled with her. They are an easy camp...good exp...terrible faction hits. DEATH to the MILLERS!!
PS: Not very often, that one paladin (Neclaus Resauin...sp?) with the double bladed axe will walk right through the pulling spot, and he's still red to me, and hates my guts (most certainly for killing the millers). I like to Hide whenever possible to med because of him.
Not to point out the obvious but Holly is a ranger because she dual wields. I am a druid and if given the chance I would love to dual wield but that ain't gonna happen. Just my 2cp.
Not many on EQ know this, but many monsters are on special hybrid classes. I have had casters backstab me, wizards slash me (war/rog) only sword, shadowknights HT and heal, and druids fear. An underlying fact is that every monster has a base class. This can be altered by programing. Just my cents.

Yeah well i killed both baobob and chanda a lot. I am a 30 warrior. i dont have magic so i have to kill both before i die. i dont care about my faction in qeynos anymore. so i kill both. bind wound for 75% of my full hp. and do again. i havent died yet. the drop and coin suck but xp is good. i will soon try to get the fishbone earring and tell u my results
I camped the Miller's for two levels and now my faction is bottomed out for Qeynos Guards, Karana Residents, Priests of Life, and Thunder. I've hunted BB killing any and all gnolls including gnoll elites with absolutely no luck.
I have a 27 Cleric and 29 Druid (druid is KOS).
Any idea how I can once again walk the streets of Qeynos safely as my druid?
i know this is posted elsewhere, but since this problem haunted me for over 10 lvls (and still gives me some minor problems) i feel it won't hurt to post it here too.
so you've bottomed out qeynos guard/knights of thunder/priests of life? i'm sorry - it's gonna take a lot of work to fix it.
1. Buy lots backpacks and head to Blackburrow. Kill gnolls. DON'T KILL SCOUT MALITYN (or whatever his name is) - he'll bottom out your faction again with one kill. Loot every gnoll fang you can find.
2. You're going to have to kill a maddening number of gnolls, but eventually you will again be dubious to qeynos guard (tho still KOS to the Knights and Priests - be cautious). Take all of those gnoll fangs you saved to Captain Tillan in the Qeynos Arena. Hand them to him 4 at a time and he will replace them with Moonstones. You will quickly become well liked by the Qeynos Guard (tho it will hurt Corrupt Qeynos guard a little - i've heard there are a couple Freeport quests to cure this, but it's not a problem for me yet). Take the moonstones to McNeal Jocub in the tavern at the South Qeynos gate. He will give you a black burrow stout and raise your Qeynos Guard/Knights of Thunder/Priests of Life faction for each. Considering how many gnoll fangs you should have picked up killing enough gnolls to even enter qeynos you should be good.
3. Once you're dubious to priests and knights again (it might take more than one full gnoll fang run to blackburrow - much more if you're looting as well) do the bandit sash quest for chesguard.
by this point 95% of qeynos will love you. just watch out for those corrupt guards - they're still dubious to me, but depending where you started with them, turning in the gnoll fangs might make them threatening.
there's also a guy in freeport that will raise your qeynos guard faction if you give him gold. his only name starts with an F, but i can't open the page to find out exactly what it is. doesn't help priests/knights, but it will help you get into qeynos.
Huh - I guess I am confused. Why would anyone *want* to kill NPCs with major faction hits if they care about the faction? I must be stupid, but there sure seem to be plenty of MOBs with good drops out there that you would be better off fighting...

Hunt raiders. Port to NK and walk to the river (track a raider if you get lost). There is a large group (5 or so) of raiders that will be VERY green to you. Snare one and kill it by your method of choice (I melee them to death to save mana, which I use on the raider casters). Rinse. Repeat. You get good faction hits all around (except with the Raiders), decent loot, and occasionally you get a bandit sash. The sashes can go to Chesguard (paladin in SQ), which will give you even more good faction. One thing to note: if you see a half-elf raider spawn, blast it quickly. The half-elves are casters, and they will damage shield and heal their friends, as well as blast you once they get a chance. Good luck!
I've spent much time in Black Burrow killing gnolls for my Iksar Monk in hopes some day I can enter Qeynos. I'm to the point now, that the Qeynos Guards aren't the issue, but the corrputed guards, priests of life and all sorts of other "random" factions within Qeynos that makes my trip just as dangerous as before. Chanda and Baobob both scowl at me, are they under the Jagged Pine Treefolk faction?
u can kite her from lvl 25 easy - harmony bob first then attack her - she gives kick arse exp all the way to 34. Make sure u are in wolf form as u only recive karana resident faction hit instead of all 4 - this is what happened to me. Good luck
If you only took Karana Resident faction hits killing her or her brother, I'd like to know how. If it is true, it isn't because you were in wolf form. I ALWAYS use wolf form instead of SOW because it is more reliable...I was in wolf form the whole time killing them, and I took terrible faction hits all around. So bad, in fact, that I'm going to go back because it couldn't get any worse. =)
as a lvl 24 wizard can i solo her or baobob? i cast a 187 damage spell so how many hps do they have on average? email me at bmxmaniac29@hotmail.com with any info please any on hps will help
Although I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure that it's High Quality Bear SKINS which are used for the backpacks, not High Quality Bear PELTS which Chanda Miller requires. No, I don't know what the difference between the two is.
im not sure, but i think they are the same thing. i have never seen a single HQ bear pelt. im a tailor and i keep an eye out for ALL HQ skins/pelts since i have to raise my skill but i never seen a single HQ bear pelt
After 6 kills? Not so. I've killed the Millers so much, there is a worn spot on the ground from where I sat while medding in between pulls. ;)
Seriously, faction hits for Baobob and Chanda are strange to say the least. The Qeynos Guards, Temple of Life, Knights of Thunder, and Karana Residents are all hits you take. But, I've never found the hits on any but the Karana residents to be all that much, especially if you also go kill a few bandits and turn in their sashes occassionally.
What is odd is how the faction changes in the Karanas. The baker vendor and one of the other vendors close to her, became dubious right away, but never got any worse. (I've killed Bob and Chanda for a few levels) The vendor in the tower at the bridge in NK also is dubious. In EK, except for the druids (still warmly) and the barb vendor in the fishing village (dubious), all others I have conned scowl at me now, including all the farmers throughout the Karanas.
Even stranger still is the fact that after killing the Millers, the barbs in Lake Rathe also changed from indifferent to scowls. In Rath Mtns, the pally where the hill giants spawn is also scowling even though, her guildmates in S Qeynos are all warmly to me, go figure!
I'm about 99.9% sure that you can not lower normal (i say normal because there are ALWAYS exceptions) merchant faction below dubious. I believe this was implemented so that, although the merchants won't sell to you, you can't pull them out of there spawn point just by walking by. This is what i've observed as a Necromancer of Innoruuk, and a Druid who likes to kill NPCs. Many many factions scowl at me, but i've never seen a vendor lower than dubious.
-- also, if you ever see a vendor pulled from it's spawn point, it's because someone attacked them. They're the ones that say "Can't you see i'm busy?" or "I'm not open for business right now"
If you ask the camping players for permission to speak to the NPC, they will normally give permission. If they refuse, you can invoke the new "play nice" rules and petition.
Ok... I can understand NOT being able to allow someone to do the quests. What if you're a "lower" level camping them, mana is tight, and you have the spawn broken just enough to pull one away and kill it before needing to kill the other one? I think "play nice" is a pain of a rule.

Deal with what? Rudeness? I don't like the PN Rules at times. It can be taken advantage of. However, if you're camping and someone needs the NPC for a quest and stuff, it's just quite frankly rude to not take a moment and let them do it. Geez. Deal with THAT..
She makes bear-hide armor: - bear-hide belt (AC 4, wgt. 1) for low quality bear pelt + 5 gp - bear-hide boots (AC 5, wgt. 2,5) for medium quality bear pelt + 15 gp - bear-hide cloak (AC 6, wgt. ?) for high quality bear pelt + 23 (21?) gp * all parts are all classes and all races
For the cloak to be done you need good faction with Karanaresidents, which can be obtained by killing bandits in West Karana or doing the other armor parts multiple times. The cloak is rarely done, because the pelt is mostly used for the sought-after handmade backpacks (10 slots).
Gives out the bear-hide armor quest, pretty nice armor for caster's for how easy it is to get. She can be found at the campfire just outside Surefall along with Baobob. Just tell her "Baobob sent me"
