Squire Tectoran  

After a few failed attempts managed to down him with a team of 80 mage using EM5 air pet, max pet defensives for level with J2 healer merc, 76 druid with J1 healer merc. J2 on balanced, J1 on efficient, druid debuffed and added some burn dps. Mage full offensive. Cleared prismatic wyvern on side of room to pull Squire to, party on the side to avoid AEs. Rampage was not an issue, logs indicate it may have hit summoned gargoyle pets. Buffs were all party provided. Squire parsed to have ~550k hp.

He now casts Savage Slash - PBAE decrease hp by 8000 - range 50

We killed Squire Tectoran this evening with a level 80 mage pet as the main tank, 2 druids blast healing, an enchanter chain-casting rune, and a necro and wizzie nuking/doting away. Was the silliest of fights, as it was almost a joke that we would try it, but when on the first fight, we got him to 35%, we knew we had to try it again. Another thing to mention is that the puller (one of the druids) was dead just as the fight started.

2nd time we got him to 75% before pet died, and we succored to entrance. Last time, we burned right through him, cringing as we waited for enrage to happen, but it never did!

Was a very neat experience, and I wish the best of luck to future groups who just can't seem to find a tank anywhere.

Glume still drops from any squire, Taniza has been moved to Heart of the avalanche. No squire drops it.

Well our group on Druzzil took him down in about 5 minutes..80 Ranger tank w/18.8k unbuffed hps 3389 ac, 3646 AA..80 warrior 16k/2600ac, 80 cleric, 80 shammy, 80 chanter, and another 80 ranger. Can be done but hits like a mack truck. Fight was hairy in a few spots..used Weaponshield at 85%..burned guardian defensive at 40%..and we all survived with no deaths. Dropped the http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=72467, and http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=72136. Was an awesome fight all in all I never expected a ranger to tank something like this but once again I and my group have beat the odds..hits roughly for 6-8k ish..

Drops Zirkanamef's Stormhide Mantle as well. (Yes, on Tectoran.)

Stormy Pauldrons of Lightning now drops from Squire Zirkanamef in Crystallos. It used to drop from Squire Tectoran.
