At the time of this writing - 2011 February on progression server - he appears to be behaving the same. I asked about sragg, then waited quite a while, probably 10-15 min. He walked out of the Inn and towards the ocean, then stopped between the 2 Qeynos Guards. So, I stacked 2 dots and nuked him (lvl 9 Shaman) while he ran away, and no other NPC attacked me despite the fact that I was right under the traders and guards.

Ok guys you all need to know this. The easist way to increase faction with the Corrupt Qeynos Guards is to:
1. Go to Crushbone and Gfay and farm a lot and I mean about 200 orc scalps.
2. Take these scalps to Highhold Pass and sell them to the Captain at the orc end of the pass.
3. If you give them to him 4 at a time by the time you give him all your scalps you will be best buddies with the Corrupt Qeynos Guards and there is no bad faction increase.
So now that it is said have a load of fun killin orcs then take a trip to the mountains, enjoy the scenery, sell the scalps, increase faction, lose no faction. make a bunch of coin, bask in the sun and have some fun!

Actually your both wrong and need to check your facts before flaming. If you check my other posts on this site you will see that when I am wrong I say so.
I have done as I said in my original post on this page.
I have also helped all my guild members increase their Qeynos Corrupt Guard faction in the same way.
This is well known to most on the Saryrn Server and if you would try it you would see.

too bad crushbone orcs dont drop scalps.

Have you even been to CB. Everyone that has ever killed orcs there knows that scalps do indeed drop off them.

Actaully he's right. Scalps may drop in CB, but they are NOT the right ones, so in turn the captain will NOT accept them. He will only accept scalps from the orcs in Highpass.

What exactly is the catch phrase to get him to start moving toward the arena? I ask him "Who is Sragg" but he just stands there and answers the same thing as any other question i make.

Ok i just discovered you can NOT have him targetted when you ask who is Sragg. Just target yourself when you say it near him and he will immediately start walking to the arena area.
With the advent of the Luclin Nexus this quest was almost too easy for my level 13 Dwarf Cleric. Travel up to Luclin from GFay then over to Odus, then in to Erudin, board the boat and you are in Qeynos. Yes, this does take some time, waiting for the Nexus and the boat can be annoying, but I spent the time honing my spell casting spells. Trumpy was a breeze to kill and I looted a head that gave me second thoughts as the item was named only 'A Dwarf Head'and was not specifically Trumpy's. Anyway, a quick gate spell back to Kaladim and voila ... a Bloodforge Hammer. Not a bad weapon 13 dmg and 50 delay, but being magic one make this nice.

I was doind this farren quest when trumpy came.He didnt see me but i conned him and he was thretenly.i did the quest to many times but i thinh he is circle of unseen hands and if your kos to him hes got sum friends at the fishes ale and if they see u killing him they WILL kill u or try to kill u

I've found 2 trumpys one in Kaladim at Inontoes meals or somthin like that. And the other at S Qeynos well i'm KoS in S qeynos (I THINK 3/4 OF THE PEOPLE ON EQ ARE) and not in kaladim. Just thought ya'll wanted to know)

LOL in case you have never heard of a place called Black Burrow its a great place that even Iksars can raise their faction enough to walk in Qeynos....why you want to I dont know but my troll is loved in that town hehehe

i was working on my qeynos faction yesterday, he was rdy to attack so i killed him, but he is definitely NOT lvl 5

I found killing Trumpy to be the easy part of this quest. Travelling across the continent and back is the difficult part. I've heard you can meet Trumpy in the Fish's Ale bar in Qeynos, and then ask him about Sragg. This will force him to walk out of the bar alone and into some deserted areas. Fortunately, while I was medding and buffing in preparation for a fight, Trumpy angrily told Barstomper to get out of his way, and I followed Trumpy out of the bar. He headed for the dock, but then turned back and went up behind the arena. There is no one behind the arena, so I was able to root and nuke him pretty easily. A wandering guard came through, but he ignored both of us. I got Trumpy's head the first time, and I am now the proud owner of a bloodforge hammer.

I was a Barbarian Shaman in a group that took on Trumpy. Our druid heard about the quest and decided we should go while we were at level 8. It's made level 9 a long, slow road, I can tell you!
So far, I've been attacked without warning by Trumpy (can you blame him) and his bar buddies, by Flynn Merrington in The Crow, and by Thadres Thyme in Halas.
I nearly killed Thadres in a battle in the middle of the lake in Halas, and avoided killing her to keep my faction from getting any more dismal. I had absolutely no choice in what happened to me in N. and S. Qeynos.
I've been suspecting the cause is bad faction with one or more of the following factions:
Kane Bayle
Blood Sabres
Corrupt Qeynos Guards
Circle of the Unseen Hands
I've performed the Crate (Evil) quest three times so far and Flynn (who I've snuck quick peeks at to /con) could really give a crap about Blood Sabre faction it seems. He's scowling threateningly no matter what (it's a step up from 'ready to attack', so maybe I *am* making progress...)
Dunno what Trumpy thinks. It seemed to be a little difficult to sneak a peek at him without him seeing me first and I *always* get lost in Qeynos when I'm in a hurry. I've chosen not to try my luck with him for now.

I belive it is Kane Bayle because i know my know my faction with him is bad and i have been running around doing quests to improve Corrupt Quenos Guards ( i think they are affected by kane bayle too) and the Circle of Unseen Hands. For circle of unseen hands ive been doing the bandit sash quest - kill bandits in WK for the faction change and turn in sashes to chesgard sydwen in SQ for loot and stuff. For the Corupt Qeynos Guards i taveled to freeport (yes freeport) to do the 2 notes to Janam and Rebby - start in rouge guild thrugh secret wall in room under the Seafarer's Roost. ask Harkin Duskfoot "what message" then u can go ask Nestral TGaza "Who janam and rebby's", then give the notes to janam and rebby and return the items they give you to Harkin and Nestral. I still think the kane bayle faction is still at work with Trumpy, Raz the rat misk, and the corupt qeynos guards. It might be the blood sabers since it gets worse when you turn in the sashes but i dont think that they are involved.
I thought i could improve kane bayle if i could do the pouch quest with Raz the rat misk since he tells me I'm not part of the circle I improved my faction with the circle of unseen hands but still cant do it.
The next thing I'm gonna try is to group with someone who can do the pouch from raz or the honey meed for trumpy quests. If I remember right quest faction and exp is given to everyone in group so while I can't do the quest, I think I can 'leach' off of some one who can.

ok...Who knows the quest that will raise faction so that I won't be KOS? Anyone? I killed trumpy a couple of times but wasn't KOS, but then I made the mistake of killing Raz the Rat Misk. Was NOT worth the tattered pouch that I looted.

Well, 5 backpacks of Honey Mead took my iksar monk from dubious to apprehensive with the Corrupt Qeynos Guard -- but it lowered merchants from amiable to apprehensive, and Qeynos Guards from indifferent to dubious.
So, now it's back to Blackburrow to collect gnoll fangs (I figure about another 200 fangs and I'll have killed enough gnolls to come back and get Trumpy stupid-drunk again... plus I can make a 2nd trip to Halas to turn in the fangs for more factions up there again).

If you screwed up your faction to where the Rogues in Qeynos (Circle of Unseen Hands faction) want to kill you on sight, then there is still a way to raise that faction ... but it can be very, very tedious.
If you head out into the Karanas and hunt bandits, raiders and brigands you will raise a whole bunch of factions, and one of them is the Circle of Unseen Hands faction. The only negative faction they give you is the one for the Karanas bandits, and frankly, I don't think that's one to worry about much.

I started at Dubious, so I figured why not. I cut of the buggers head, I'll find my way out to kalidim soon enough.
After 1 kill, I was still dubious.
I saw him and his 2 buddies beating up a newbie, so I intervened. Big mistake. Went from dub to scowls.
Trumpy is about lvl 5, his friends are both low blues to a 13/Wiz. I had no trouble dispatching the 3 of them (was lucky, Bruno didn't get involved in a street brawl).
I'm still dubious to the guards in SQ, and only one ever joined the fight (Guard Quedal, doesn't attack on sight, but expect trouble if your fighting any of them and he's around).
The thing to watch for is that halfling Flynn at Crow's. He's a high Yellow to me, and would like my head.
I would advise against tackling Trumpy until at least 12, probably 13. Trumpy will only (try) KoS if I'm medding waiting for the boat, but his frineds will still have a go no matter what. At that point, even guards that are friendly to him can be solo'd.
The ride home to erudin is now much more interesting. Esspecially since I need to go there when ever I feel the need for a few brews.

Trumpy may be on the Bloodsabres faction (even though you don't get a message stating that when you kill him). After killing him once, he glares at me but I'm still dubious with Crow and the Circle of Unseen Hands, as well as the corrupt guards. Faction probably goes down with Circle and corrupt since the "job" isn't sanctioned by the local guilds ;)

Ahhhhhh I think I get it now. If you go to FP to the rogues guild and do the two message quests ad nauseum, you raise faction with corrupt qeynos guards and thieves guild, but NOT with the Bloodsabres. Stumpy.. er.. Trumpy's friends must be Bloodsabres. I am kindly to almost everyone in Sqeynos, and amiable even to Bruno Barstomper as a result of doing the messenger quests, except Trumpy and Klieb Torne. I will have to investigate this further. I too did the quest once and was kos to sqeynos in general.

I found trumpy standing at the gates to the docks near the port authority building. he proceeded to wander behind the building towards the docks(bad luck for him, heheheh). killed him got head and will drop off next time I am in BB. My question is, do you have to do the 2 head quest first or can that part be skipped?

You can skip the 2 head quest but it never hurts to raise your faction with Byzar.

Went to hand in head to Byzar Bloodforge (after killing a load of Gobbos and doing the war bead quest a few times) he didn't say anything about my eyes when I asked him about the beads so I asumed that my faction was ok. I lost the head and no BF Hammer!!! Make sure that your faction is well up! (lucky I am a druid so the trip back to Qeynos isn't to bad!)

in erudin there's a quest which you take an item from the top of the palace to the bottom. you talk to a man standing in front of the magician guild and tell him you study enchantments. he gives you the item and you give it to slansin in one of the shops at the bottom of the palace. there's an imposter slansin there most of the time, so when you give him the item, you raise a lot of bad factions, which is very nice because no factions drop. corrupt qeynos guard happens to be a faction which goes up.

Pull Slansin upstairs so you can complete the quest without moving. This can be done by pulling, rooting, and camping while someone hails Slansin. Also, enchanters and clerics can memory blur. When the two NPCs are together, can do the quest a few hundred times in an hour. Giving the imposter Slansin the potion gives the following factions:
+ Coalition of Tradefolk Underground
+ Coalition of Trade Folk
+ Carson McCabe
+ Corrupt Qeynos Guards
+ Freeport Militia

killed this idiot once behind the arena(best place) and only once and now my shaman is Kos in southern qeynos...chased by the corrupt guards the bouncer will come out of the bar-through the walls if i even come near voleens muffin shop and him and his friends dont say put they all come in and out of the bar and the corrupt guards patrol the areas...so depending on race/class you can get in real trouble fast killing this guy better be worth it..the bloodforge hammer is big and slow and its an awful long walk to kaladim..Off his corpse i got 2 rusty daggers 3 or 4 bottles of ale and some change plus his head..ive killed him with 3 other characters twice with a ranger and got the head every time and my ranger is still not kos...imagine that..but barb shaman...kos after one.

ok. I kill trumpy once. His bar mates hate me now the bouncer and all. ok So what I am outta qeynos on to unrest on fadark. I con those dumb dwarf guards adn they look at me theretengly. I dont know whats up. I am a human war. they should not hate me. Need lil help plz.

I thought he was around lv 3-4 but very easy to beat (I started killing him at lv 8). DO NOT FIGHT HIM IN THE BAR. Bruno will have his way with you before you blink. "What about Sragg" works unless you are KOS to him then you have to wait on him to come out. If you let him get away when he starts running he will bring back Kane or one of his guard buddies too. The best place that ive found to kill him is when he is at the docks either by the boat dock or by the fisherman that trumpy kicks his stuff in. He will not attack you if you are KOS by him if you are high enough level unless you are sitting waiting for him then (like the stupid gnoll pups) he runs right to you and he is a fast little bugger when he starts fleeing and unless you are a heavy duty caster i would run for the zone if he gets away because he will be back and with freinds. I have gotten the head everytime i have killed him (which is somewhere aroud 15 times now) 2 daggers and some food so i don't know about the dwarf armour. His buddies at the bar seem to have the same faction for you as trumpy does so be carful. Trumpy is a wimp but his buddies i think are around 9-10 and they have the same faction as Trumpy does for you

I have never gotten the dwarven loot only the crummy daggers and all you have to do to kill him is be a dude with a fast weapon I beat him with a Wip simlpe and now in kos My advice is not to kill him for his loot

Here is the problem: you manage to lure Trumpy away from his 35th level bouncer buddy (Bruno) and Trumpy dies easy. Now, you loot and not the skull drop everytime... he had 2 rusty daggers last time I killed him. Faction hits are up with A Bayle / Qeynos Guards and down with corrupt Qeynos guards / Bloodsabers. the problem is that if you kill Trumpy in front of the bouncer he will join in. If the bouncer joins in you are SOL because even amiable faction with Qeynos Guards means squat... you die to guards. Been there; done that; don't care to repeat.

You have to ask him about Sragg. Say "what about Sragg?" Tjis will cause him to run. Follow him to where he runs alongside the arena wall(on outside) and kill him here. Kill em more than like 3 times and you KOS, even when you are lvl 21 :)

I have noticed that as you are killing Trumpy, A guy from the Bar he stays in comes out and kills you. Every person I ask says that it doesn't happen when you are on the Quest for the Bloodforge Hammer. I went on this quest and I still get killed by the Bouncer, Why?

The bouncer will attack you regardless of what quest you are on, he doesn't care. In fact, many denizens of the area will attack you if you attack Trumpy. You must wait until he is out of the bar and away from anyone else. I have gone after Trumpy several times and due to a lack of patience (waiting until no one else was around) I have been killed. Last time he was at deaths door when a wandering guard came by and saved him.

Read the quest description on this site! It tells how to get Trumpy away from the bar and the bouncer. Also it suggests that you root him ASAP so he can't run and get help.
