Maldin the Old is at 970, -1880. He's a merchant, not a monster, at least to the best of my knowledge. I've bought stuff from the guy.
Also, his son (Carlin the Young, I think) is at this spot.

The bard epic guy is Maligar. Maldin the Old is a merchant in the first cluster of shops north of the road that comes out of the Qeynos Hills zone.

I am not positive, but two of us were running the edge of the mountains from NK to QH near to the location of the Ogre Shrine...a little before it and came across a group of bandit/player looking npc's. There were at least 4 or 5 of them. All green to me at 35 except a caster in robes with a name that started with an "M" and no last name. He toasted my druid buddy level 32 in one or two spells. He was red and dubious to my 35 monk. This is the first time I've seen this guy in WK. Again I am not sure if it was Maldin The Old or not

Yeah Maligar is bad ran my lvl 43 paladin through and happened to run across his camp Nenika jumped she conned green so i wasn't to worried about all of a sudden I get clinging darkness on me and I am feared. Needless to say when I could see again my health bar was dropped to 200 and LHed but yet again clinging darkness and then few secs later dead. I would advise extreme caution when hugging the mountains to go to the Qeynos Hills zone.

his name is Maligar, my 27th druid was toasted in 1 shot, bad mofo he is, hope this helps

This if a guy for the bard epic. Not worth killing unless your after him for that purpose. He drops a beginners magi robe which is worthless and gives very little exp. He also give bad faction in good cities.
