I was training one day, shooting enemies with my arrows. Being a ranger (half-elf), this can be considered common behavior. Anyway, I was attacking a bat (don't remember the type; might have been large whiskered). That's when I noticed some freak saying something about the wolves of the north. I decide to leave him alone, and continue attacking the bat, which he also decided to attack. Then, he proceeded to get me even though I didn't touch him. That ticked me off, so I ran away from him, while shooting him. I find Guard Leopold, and think I'm safe from this foreigner. HA! Guards don't care about players because NPCs with names are apparently more important. They double-team me. I find it pathetic that they both had to team up to kill me; I was well below lvl 10. Well, whenever I see him, I'll try to not attack anything...or maybe I'll root him and run :)

timeless comment here:

You or anyone shooting an arrow are shooting a weapon that has line of sight. It is possible to hit what ever is in between you and your intended target.
It is possible to shoot / bolt kill a player's mount from under them.

I killed Lars for 1 level most faction was barb faction , but also Steel Warriors. I'm a Human SK and right now the warrior guild in Qeynos Gower at me. I can't hand in gnoll teeth in Halas for obvious resons. Should I worry about this faction? I know the steel warriors are also in freeport.

I have hunted him several times, and he has always dropped a fs piercing weapon, and a couple of plat. The weapons sell for about 3 to 4 plat each. The danger involved in hunting him is from pulling one of the higher barbarians like Ulrich who sometimes roams close to Lars.

This guy is a great target for your leveling process. He is good for a druid 19 to 24 and for a necro 20 to 24.Drops bronze weapons sometimes and a lil plat i think.

This guys also walks along the path from the WK zone to the Qeynos Zone in the Qeynos Hills. I think he is a human barbarian and hits VERY hard and has bash. He KOS my human necro.

My necro was walking along QH, minding his own business when *WHAM*...

...LOADING PLEASE WAIT...

What the heck? As soon as I respawned I scrolled up and found Good Ol' Lars took exception to my existance, cried out "Hethen! I will cleanse the world of your kind! (or something like that), and killed me in one shot.

Man, where's the love? Can't we get along?

as soon as i killed Tovax the human necro with my 18-high-elf cleric, Lars McMannus pops up at the fork in the road. He was yellow and dubious to me (must have been all the barbarian poachers i killed in Surefall Glade . QUESTION> how do i increase faction with barbarians with out stepping foot in to halas

Yeah right - and after killing like a **** lot of them you have to kill even more and more, because you won't get any Faction improvements with any Halas Faction! Even if you kill Gnolls for the rest of your life.

However, killing Gnolls and collection their teeth is a different thing. Collect a lot of them, buy one of the Babarian Illusion drinks if you are KoS to Wolves of the North and give the Gnoll teeth to the Babarian Lady (forgot her name, but you can find the Quest here). THAT will raise your Halas Faction.
