For those Enchanters out there who, like me, have completely tanked your Bloodsabre faction (What can I say, the Defiler in Surefall makes such a funny noise when he falls), you can get her to give you the vial if you put on a goblin rogue spirit shroud and sneak-hide your way in. Prep a hotbutton with "Where can I find Ink of the Dark," then position yourself behind her. It's a tight squeeze, but you can get right up along the wall to where you're actually staring through her a bit.

Then drop hide, keeping sneak up (for anyone who's ever played a rogue to at least 20, this is old hat), hotbutton the question, she'll turn and give you the vial before she realizes who you are. Then jet out of there and exit via the Warrior's Guild before anyone has a chance to nail you. Use Spirit Sending to pop back to whomever shrouded you, drop the shroud, and pick your winnings from the shroud bank. No MQs, no endless grinding, and no dropping 40'000 in gold to that twit Shilster for case after case of that horrid Gnoll Stout.

I did this part of my epic yesterday. The good news is, you can find her easy now using the find feature. I just followed the mystical path. I am an agnostic high elf. I zoned in invis, just in case. Illusioned as a human once I saw it was safe. Cast collaboration on the first skeleton I ran in to, just in case ( I spook easy, lol). Conned amiable. Continued to follow the path, conned the guild masters and guards...all amiable. Said my lines, recieved my vial, gated to PoK, yipee!

The most difficult time i had was finding her... not getting to her. I did turn into a werewolf. And the wondering guard tried to put up a fight but i rooted him, Mezzed him. then cast collaboration on him and the 4 spectres... walked right in to her and got the vial... pretty kool....

I am a high-elf lev 52 chanter. I have tried to get to this chick 5 times and everytime i have gotten splattered by her goonies and her. I cast illusion and benevolence on myself... get attacked from the first guard.. mezz him cont. get attacked by the specs.. mezz cont.. get to the gate cast illus and bene on me and walk over and she attacks and everyone else attacks.. what am i doing wrong.. please help .. thank you

Just tried this. First attempt = chanter splat on the floor. Why? Apparently they don't like high elves of Tunare who forgot to cast Illusion: Human. Lesson learned! Second try...illusion human, collaborate on the skellie. Was then dubious, walked right in, got the vial and gated. Piece of cake. Learn from my silly mistakes. ;)

After having given up on my epic, I finally got past the faction problems I was having with this npc. It was very simple to fix faction. Go to the Temple of Life and kill the fish under the space ship looking thing. I killed 5 of them and it took a half hour or so. The guards killed me and I figured my faction was good enough for Reania. Got rezzed and headed to the catacombs. I casted human illusion on myself & walked right up to her and got my vial! Previously I couldnt even approach the gate! Now I am ready to kill Thracken Griffin! I hope this helps you !! Good Luck!

Just wanted to say that as a High Elf Tunare woshiping chanter using Illusion: Human and Collaboration on the green skelly let we walk right up to her, hail, and say "Where can I find the supply of the ink of the dark?" and got my vial.

I tried that approach on 8/2/04, even improved a bit i think...Had a mage grouped with me who stayed near zone out, had the mage begin casting coh, then dropped invis punched my hot key which was set up to say "what ink of the dark" and "where can i find ink of the dark" and NOTHING...don't remember her exact phrasing, but basically she told me she was disappointed in my actions, etc. and did not give me the vial. I'm not sure if i got aggro of the NPCs there or not, as mage and I zoned...I am high elf, tunare btw...good luck to all, keep posting ways that work, and when you do, please tell us your race/deity as that makes quite a difference in this particular piece of the epic=) good luck all

yep, just zone in from south qeynos under the warroir guild ( follow the bones) and you come out right beside where this npc is. i am a high elf.. i zoned in put up a dark elf illusion, and cast collaboration on myself from the first mob i could target ( green skelly). i went around some corners, saw the guild, and conned the npcs inside all were amiable to me. i saw the npc and siad to her " where can i find the supply of the ink of the dark". she handed me the vial, i gated.. all way to simple. good luck to you

I got the Vial while she was threatning. Had my hotkey set up to /say where can I find the supply of the ink of the dark? and dropped invisi, got vial, they all attacked but I made it to zone with vial ... and 200 hp hah.

Zone in to the catacombs under the PvP Arena in South Qeynos.

Use the Dark Elf Illusion.

Walk around the corner and there will be a skeleton standing there that will not attack.

Hit him with Benevolence and now all the evil mobs are ally to you.

Go to Reania Jukle, hail her and she'll respond. Start the text for the vial.

i zoned in con'd the guy right in the doorway, i was kos he started attacking me, i zoned out , then zoned back in casted ww form on me casted collaboration on him, con'd him and i was dubious, then i worked my way thru to reania, ask her about the vial of ink, she gave it to me and i gated out with my vial of ink, and i did NO quest at all for anykind of faction. save yourself the trouble and try this first before questing for faction

Her loc is pos 390, neg 380 in the temple area. As an agnostic erudite, I was indifferent and casted human illusion/collaboration to become amiable. The correct phrase is "where can i find the supply of the ink of the dark?"

There is some very good advice written below on adjusting faction. My faction was almost as bad as it can possibly get having done all five of the Qeynos badge of honor quests. Not only that, but whenever I saw Noclin in QHills I'd whoop his but for all the unprovoked attacks he made when I was a noob. The fishing tackle box quest is by far the quickest and easiest way to get Bloodsabre faction up. It is mind numbingly boring, but each quest takes about thrity seconds to complete and another thrity odd seconds to restart. That's one faction adjustment per 60-70 seconds. I would strongly recommend against doing other quests because of the other significant fation hits taken, and the time taken zoning and running around My strategy was to check my faction in the aqueducts everytime I had a change in my 'con' with Ton Firepride. It wasn't until I got to Ally with him that my faction with the Bloodsabres was high enough that I could go from 'Scowl' to 'Dubious' using Collaboration and Werewolf illusion. In total I spent about four hours running back and forth with this quest (and got my swimming skill from 198 to 199).
One of the postings below suggests walking up to Reania invis, dropping invis and quickly saying your line. According to the poster, it worked for him/her but not anymore. I tried this (had a 60 Cleric standing by) and died in about three seconds flat - with about 1600 total HP after buffing. I did not get the vial, but did get a 96% rez.
For those complaining about having to go to and evil guild to complete a stage, think about why you started an Enchanter in the first place. The game has a variety of classes to suit a range of playing styles and difficulty combinations. Enchanters are probably the most strategic class to play. If you're after someing uncomplicated - play a monk. I actually regret not choosing a religion, as it limits some of the cool items I can now make.

I conned the spectres that guard the entrance to the Dark Arts Guilds. Ready to attack :(

Ok i get myself Werewolf , and then collaboration on the Spectres and i am Dubiously. I head in and out with the empty vial :)

If you have good corrupt Qeynos guard faction you can go to North Karana. Find the corrupt guard Shilister (I might have spelled his name wrong there). You need at least Dubious faction to do this. Take like 2K in gps. and give him like 5 gps. at a time, he gives you back black burrow stout. Faction hits are BLOODSABERS yes positive. He stays in the same place and I did this for about 1 hour and got my faction up to threateningly, cast Collaboration and it was dubiously. So faction is not to hard if you start with good corrupt Qeynos guard faction. Sorry I don't have the LOC on Shilster, it is in another quest that I found here.

Can an agnostic erudit is KoS there? anyway to check the faction easier way than go there? (aleadry see how many NPC in there)

I have done the tacklebox quest to the point where I can cast Illusion: Human and Collaboration and con Ally to Reania. I cannot get the stupid vial. I have no clue what to do now, ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

im sick of workin on this faction ... can someone at verant tell me why someone for an ENCHANTER epic is in a <insert 4 letter word - ing> NECRO guild. im an enchanter not a necro. i dont even like playing with necros. if you dont want enchanters to follow gods you shouldnt let them have any other choices...there are plenty of class/race combinations that limit diety choices but noooo you just had to let your high elf enchanter shoot themselves in the feet when they chose tunare. its not fair to make a lvl 51 enchanter start her character over bcuz of diety junk.

sorry just had to scream...been workin on this all day and still kos in the catacombs.

I am an Enchanter and a follower of Mithaniel Marr. Yes I too wish I had chosen agnostic but was unaware of the consequences at the time. I have read many of the horror stories here and was afraid of the hours I might have to spend getting faction up to do this quest or having to MQ it. However I was able to the quest getting the Vial in about 4hrs spent on Faction increase. There is alot of good information here about the Crate quest and the Tackle box quest. I did the Crate quest 8 to 10 times but decided to concentrate on the Tackle box quest since no zoning is involved. Here is the info copied from below for the quest. Thanks to who posted it.

Go recover Faren's tacklebox in the south harbor. When you hand it to him, for whatever reason, he gives you Hurrietta's Tunic and the following faction hits:

+Guards of Qeynos
-Corrupt Guards
+Antonious Bayle
-Circle of Unseen Hands
+Merchants of Qeynos

Then you take Hurrietta's Tunic and Give it to Ton Firepride. You get Hurrietta's Bloody Tunic and the following faction:

-Guards of Qeynos
+Corrupt Guards
+Kane Bayle
+Circle of Unseen Hands
+Bloodsabers

A plus of this Quest also, as described already, is that the good faction hits are better than the offsetting bad faction hits for the same Faction. Thus Guards of Qeynos AND the Corrupt Guard faction both kept going up. Both were Amiable when I went to check my Bloodsaber faction.

I had basically decided to give up farming faction and was going to MQ it after another enchanter dropped by and told me he had been doing this for days and still couldn't do it. That is when I decided to stop and go check how Reania conned to me. I invised and found her, targeted her, moved back to near zone in, uninvised and hit C to con. Scowling, ready to attack. So was Argyn at the entrance of the zone. I tried different Illusions and each time Scowling. But then I tried Illusion Werewolf and to my surprise Argyn was threateningly. I cast Collaboration on him and was happy to see he was then Dubious!! (He actually had attacked me before it went off so I had to stun, mezz then cast Collaboration) I then invised in Werewolf form and went and targeted Reania Jukle and some others there repeatedly and again went to zone, dropped invis & conned. Too my amazement and surprise they were all dubious as well!! Casting Collaboration on Argyn had made my faction dubious to every NPC there in the zone! I eased up slowly to Reania conning each NPC as I went to make sure all dubious because I couldn't believe it had happened. I told her "Where can I find the ink of the dark" and was extremely happy when I received an Empty Ink Vial!!

where is she? I can't seem to find her

Hi all, I had severe factions problems with this part of the quest...

I worship Prexus and I have also hunted quite a few Necromancers and Specters in the Catacombs. I also killed Tovax and Pyjyn a couple times. I was way KOS in Qeynos Catacombs. BOO !

I killed Neclo in Qeynos Hills about 60 times (6 minute spawn), this raised Opal Dark Briar and Blood Sabers. With illusion human and benevolence I got Argyn to con threat. (Pull him just around the corner and root him, zone out and back, he will not return to his spawn and you should be able to cast faction on him safely from a distance. He ain't all that anyway.) WOOT !

Invised up and targetted Reana Jukle, ran back to zone line and uninvised, she con threat too. WOOT !

Went in invis and stood right beside her, dropped invis and said (with a button very quickly): What ink of the dark? She did her thing and gave me the empty ink bottle. WOOT !

Before I could even confirm that I got the bottle the necro and mage openned a big ol' can a whoop arse on me. 1010 dmg = instant chanter death, BOO !

Had a human shadow night mule made (I explored with him). Since u can consent another character even if they r not online, I used him to drag my corpse to zone. WOOT !

A quick rez and a quick loot later I have my empty vial, /rude VI, /cheer Higar. WOOT !

I don't know what the other faction is but who cares? The only way to raise Opal Dark Briar if you are already KOS is to kill Neclo. I'm KOS with Qeynos casters, Order of Three, but who cares? VI certainly don't. Good luck !

As a follower of Tunare I had to raise my Bloodsabre faction. I did this by killing Neclo - an npc near the Wkar zone in Qhills. Once the guards became threatening I went back to the catacombs and with illusion human and collaberation they became amiable. If you say, "Where can I find the ink of the dark" she will hand you the bottle.
Now to fix my faction /sigh

I am a level 57, Human Enchanter on the Pover server. I worship Erollisi Marr.
I have taken my faction with the Qeynos Guards from Amiable to Threatening and I am still KOS to BloodSabres in the Aquaducts. I am not sure that it is worth doing this no matter how much I want my Epic.
I know that Ton Firepride is a hidden member of the BS and I am Amiable to him, while Indifferent to other merchants.
How am I supposed to get past Scowls Ready to attack with these guys please. It seems an impossible task.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I am a dark elf enchanter Agnostic lvl 54. I did such a great job building factions with the guards,merch, etc in Qeynos that I am KOS to the evil temple and this NPC. I have killed over 10 fish, killed Brother Estel many times and killed Neclro many times and have only gotten bloodsabers to dubious with my faction buff. I have tried all illusions even the minor one and nothing changes it. She is dubious and will not talk to me. I am going to continue trying to raise the factions maybe I can get to indiff with the faction buff and be able to get my epic piece. I hope so. This is really cruel on Verants part. I made my char agnostic so my illusions would be of better use and for this place nothing has worked and yet that is where our first epic piece is.
I don't know if this can be mulitquested either because was my understanding one of the most recent patches changed the multiquesting so that it can not be done. So if anyone gets someone to try the multiquest for this part please post success or failure on it.

Ok...I'm a high elf enchanter with Erollisi Marr as my diety. I went down into the catacombs to get the ink, and immmediately got harm touched and beaten to death. After that I did some checking and found out about the BloodSaber faction quests. I killed Neclo Rheslar, I killed Brother Estle, I killed Brother Chintle, I killed the Koandil fish. I did the crate quest hundreds of times. I've killed all those NPC's so many times I can't even count. In total I've spent about 16 hours now running back and forth between W. Karana, Qeynos Hills, and Qeynos Catacombs--killing the mobs as they spawn and checking faction. So far NO FACTION CHANGE. Reania still scowls. All her cohorts scowl. They've put me in my grave a couple more times since invis wore off.

The fact that they put a critical epic quest item on an NPC so impossible to reach as a good race/good religion character is absolutely STUPID!!! (You hear me Verant, I'm talking to you!)

Verant I'm really sorry I chose a deity. If you had told me then that you were going to put me through hell because of it, I would have been agnostic.

Thanks heaps for all the wasted time doing boring repetitive tasks.
