Killed 70-100 of these in the past 2 days in Qeynos Catacombs and saw very little loot. I'd say none (certainly last 10-15 when I decided to watch closer) but I didn't log it so I won't mislead.
Most posts under this mob are really old, and definately cross-referencing Runnyeye. The cat skull cap... I'd be curious when it was reported dropping off Q.C. cubes, as this may no longer be the case (or was it ever?).
What funny little birds, they have no wings. Oh what shall we do with the funny little things? Roast them alive, or eat them raw, and i dont know, the rest of this song.
cubert and friends i believe have nothing to do with this quest they have their own quest and all spawn from the same spot i have killed him and the other cubes many many times and if they drop this item it is so rare must be a onces a year drop, try the cubes that spawn in other areas of the aqueducts
Hi i have been down there a long time ago and i just want to ask... do they absorb your weapons b/c when i was down there i saw it absorb an item on the ground and i got worried that if i atacked it it would absorb my weapon. Does that happen? I wouldn't want to loose my Blackend Alloy ******* Sword :)

A friend of mine and I cleared the zone several times and the cap didn't drop of the cube. It seems to be a random drop off of anything in Runnereye. Dropped 3 times in 4 hours, all from goblins not Gelatinous cube. Hope this will help.
I know there are 3 cubes down there, everyone arguing about what lvl is each, has anyone though, maybe, 1 in a million chance, that they have a very wide lvl range?
Was over a buddy's house when his 11th level Dark Elf Theif fell into the Qeynos catacombs - the cubes he ran into all conned green but when they run, they run fast and usually dive into the water where they're effectively invisible to you, leaving you very visible to the more agressive fish in there - he hasn't been able to take one down yet before it got away on him - I'm going to see what an enchanter can do to one with a rooting spell.

the dojo (R I P), said that the cube spawns in the "well near the bank"...well been down there and i see Sludge when someone isnt kicking his ***, but havent seen the cube at all really, imparticualry when noone's camping sludge/just killing him en route, and when sludge aint there at all and havent seen him in a while either...so to make a long question short: is it the well right outside the bank? or is it somewhere else? wil probly get a tracker (hint hint) by the time someone helps on here, but i guess this hopefully provides for fututre references. 8)

Master Zenblend has found the damn cube, like and idiot...i think i got the damn thing after i posted the message too DUH...anyway, thanks to the 44 halfling warrior who save my butt from the cube, the guards, and however many else were there, after some dipwad ran thru, unbeknownst of the train of greens he carried...8) oh well go figure
Tried to kill one with a lvl 6 Erudite Wizard. I didnt even knock a bubble of health off it before it killed me, and it conned blue to me. Getting my body back was a ***** cos it kept on attacking me. Be afraid, very afraid !!!
LOL!!! thats cause you can't do jack squat damage, Erudite, lol my DE enchanter soloed a even one of these with only 2 bubs lost health, jeeze, they're easy!
I wish there was a screenshot here, because these things are quite possibly the oddest monsters I've seen in EQ. They're like big clear Jell-O cubes with bone and flesh pieces inside that roll around the aqueducts... I didn't know about them when I first went down there, so I was pretty startled when one rolled up to me. :)

cubert conned blue to me at 11, the other ones conned green to blue to me at 11 also
word of warning, there is a red cube that roams real fast down there. he is big and mean and hits hard. if you are away from the usual area (around Cubert is the usual area) con every cube you see.
Ahh, you have probably encountered The realllly rare lvl 35 cube... i encountered it once, and it killed me on the spot. it hits for around 94 points of damage doubled, and that completely wiped out my pally whom it conned blue to him, b/c he is lvl 38. Killed the pally almost effortlessly. So, i would not attack it if i were you. it would kill you pretty easily, unless you are some uber high lvl dude.
"Daddy, are the people that you say are full of crap really have a bunch of poopy in them?"
There is a cube that is called "Gelatinous Cube" instead of a gelatinous cube. I suspect it is the placeholder for Vin Moltor, since they never are around at the same time and wander the same path. I ALMOST killed it at 12, but had to flee beacuse my pet died and i was oom.
The "a gelatinous cube" in the aquaducts are of that level, but there are things called "Gelatinous Cube" in there also. The Gelatinous Cube is a higher level, I conned one even to a level 15 (long time ago) before.
Actually he cons blue at lvl 7, so Cuburt is around lvl 5, I guess. You may want to mention, that the Gelatine Cubi (Cuburt incl.) cast the GelatRoot spell, that breaks SoW.
