In Permafrost (Ancient Heroes raid): See this quest entry for information.

In Permafrost (regular zone): Lady Vox, along with Lord Nagafen and Phinigel Autropos, is one of EverQuest's original three raid bosses.

Those who would challenge the ice dragon would be advised to increase their Magic and Cold resists to counter her Fear and Ice AEs, respectively. She is also a cleric, and, as such, possesses the ability to cast Complete Heal on herself.

Vox is a Cleric; has 32,000 hps; summons; and hits for a max 205.

# Feb 16 2002 at 3:07 PM Rating: Default
forgot to post !

hey wonder if a high lvl character can land a hit on vox.

if so , this migh be a good deal
have a bunch of wiz with dragonbane spell nuke her once and get gated
sk with HT with unholy dis and gated

that like a lot of damage there considering if we have at least 30 high lvl wiz with dragonbane

only i wish that could be possible

do anyone know if this is possible

Would be neat to find an exploit where a 53+ person could get in a hit or something on Vox/Naggy, but I don't think it's gonna happen. As soon as a level 53+ person gets on Vox's or Naggy's Hate list, they get booted out of the zone.

And since you have to be within melee attack range to even cast a spell on her, her aoe fear or cold spell will get you on her aggro list before you could get near enough.

I have however wondered if a 59/60 rogue could sneak behind her, hit Duelest disc, and maybe get one hit off before they got ported out, but I doubt it's possible ;)

Theres no need to take it so serious with personal
scathing insults lol . Mythical beasts as in satan himself should be defeated with strength, wit, guile, intelligence, deviousness, and perseverance qualities perhaps you lack stick with your army, and to be safe best stay in the middle bunch
regiment??

It is a DRAGON a mythical beast of immense power and magic strength. You are a complete idiot. If you want to solo dragons go play final fantasy. Would you listen to yourself people? In my opinion quest items should be hard to obtain, and the best available. You may be right in saying why bother questing for the item if you can go to EC and buy better. But complaining because you need an army to kill the most feared mythical beast of all time next to Satan himself is ridiculous.

this much is true but come on if you soloed a dragon or a god would that not prove your immense power?

You might wish to check your mythology. Questioning full raid requirements to kill a dragon is valid imo if you keep that in mind. There were numerous heroes from various mythologies who slew dragons single handedly. No, I know, EQ is not based on mythology, but more on popular fantasy. But even in popular fantasy there were heroes that fought dragons without the aid of armies and won.

And yes, I do like the fact that dragons et al in EQ are so powerful and require multiple groups to take down. Soloing doesn't really appeal that much to me :)

wow after reading this would I be correct in saying that, no matter how much effort and time you put into the game, your never going to able to beat these creatures without the help of a couple of dozen people.
I m only lvl 33 but was reading it through interest in a cloak quest. I m not sure I can be bothered working up to do these quests only to find that there attainable only by the use of an army of people that would be the envy of attilla the hun
Sometimes I think this game becomes more pointless and less rewarding the higher you get.
No wonder we re not flooded with high level players they ve all got bored and gone of to greener more fulfilling pastures.
I know its an interactive thing but regiments to kill a dragon --
Am I right or can this thing be killed by 2 or 3 players -- decision time ?

Wow! First time to a Vox raid and we killed her, despite the raid taking nearly 10 hours(yes 10!). She didnt get any CHs off luckily, b/c that would have sealed our fate. I died when she was just a sliver away from dying :( She dropped scale, pouch, belt and eyepatch, not bad considering the time it took. And, yes, she is tougher than Naggy, although the melee and AoE attacks weren't hitting for much more it didnt seem, but she had more hps. She hit me with AoE's for about 400 and melees for 150-250 or so. Well, I got a couple of nice screen shots and will be going again, although hopefully not as long next time ;/

Raided vox last night! was my first real raid ever. We used bout 4 hours in the prep room to organize the raid (was a multi guild raid) then we charged Vox, i got off one spell, did 600dmg, took 1 million screenshots, then Vox was dead. I think we used bout 20 seconds to kill her. Resisted her fear and had 139 Cold resist so her aoe did like 100dmg. To be honest i have to say that this was boring. Next time i will have less CR and MR just to make it more fun! Btw she dropped 2 pouches, 2 Staffs and 1 Horn.

My first ever dragon raid was Lady Vox, 7 hrs the raid was and we all got wiped out.Though not sure whether anyone realized that she could be interrupted by stun spells. Even though not being stunned. Apparently was 11th time consectuviely on torvo server that there has been a wipeout. Think I I will try Nagafen raid, but never vox again
grow up...and whats the trick???
# Feb 05 2002 at 4:46 PM Rating: Default
Okay, heres my thought...might not mean much but oh well...

1st I have been on 4 voc raids, and 2 naggy raids, Naggy being much easier, I don't need to bring up...but Vox crazy...last night we tried her, and she got 4 C-heals off...and everyone died...the night befor that, well it was worse, we got owned...is there a trick to her or something? cause we had 7 full groups, and couldn't beat her. I don't get it...

Another thing, I have helped take naggy down 2 times, and each time when it came time to pass out the loot everyone wouldn't shut up...keept B$&%@ing...just would not accept the way the loot was being passed out. I mean I sure dont like taking 2 hours passing out loot, cause it takes long enought just to get ready to go into a dragons room.

My question is, how many people play this game that are so childish that they can't accept the way things are? It's up to the raid leader how things are passed out, and everything....GROW UP!!! to all the complaners....

Items..
# Jan 20 2002 at 9:50 AM Rating: Default
By the looks of things, Vox gives off Items for the following:
Rogues= Crystaline spear
Tanks= Warhammer
Rangers/druids= scimitar
and all other items are pretty much pick and MIX!

What are the names of the two halves of the Book of Scale that are dropped? I know who drops them, I just want the names when they are looted for reference. Just maybe it might give me some ideas for what to look for with the other parts of the Tome of Ages Quest

Anyone know when she was last killed on the Luclin Server? Taking out Venril Sathir has gotten boring, and the Sleeper is a cakewalk. PST for loot!

Wondering what lv a warrior could go on a vox raid and be of use... and all the vox pix ive seen everyone is in front of her... wouldnt being behind her lower the chance to catch an ice comet?
Im not yet high enough to know much about dragons and such but building knowledge is a start. so any intellegent response would be nice =P
Sort of Soloing Vox idea

Just take your 53+ Rogue there. Sneak up and pickpocket her.

As you hit hate list, poof -- you're in Everfrost.

Head back and repeat until you get everything you could. Nice, cheap and sleazy way to "Solo Vox".

Of course you will be the most hated person on your server by the next Vox raid group but what the heck, that's what Rogues are for...

Hello all. Hope all is well. I've been on 2 Vox raids and both ended with us dying. What i've seen in my experiences is that the best way to kill her is cooperation. The last one i was on was pretty much a pickup raid. Clearing the giants and such went pretty well. Than the problems started.

Firstly i would like to say. I like to mess around and goof off as much as the next guy. There are times for that, but not during a raid like this. The people that were in charge were trying their hardest to /shout or /ooc their commands....groups, buffs we needed etc...

There was way to much zone spamming going on. People making jokes, people making fun of each other, and basically people just making it too tough to catch all the leaders instructions. My advice, when they say please pay attention...keep stuff in group or in direct tells.

Secondly. Try to move the buffs along as quickly as possible. Its recommended that when you get totally buffed that you log out and go to a preprepared chat for your raid until everyone is ready to keep the buffs from dropping. Although i've heard, that if you are prepared enough and have buffers that can buff quickly that isnt needed.

Lastly. I'm not sure really. I haven't been on a successful one yet, but I'm sure it has to do with alot of celebration after you have won and hopefully collected your hard earned loot.

why lev cap
# Dec 24 2001 at 11:49 AM Rating: Default
whats the point of a level cap. it seem fair in one hand but not the other.. if she is levle 55 then 1 lev 60 would be great for the group. i guess since im so new to this that i shouldnt even be posting here (only lev 13 wiz) but the stories intrest me. anyway my question is what is the minumum level a guild should attempt this raid. and how many people is too many he guid im in is mostly 20-50 range and verying classes about 150 members how many of them should go and if a person of my lev wants in on the raid
(guild permiting of course) can one survive invised or in the corner away from the fight so that i could take part in the roll for items. again guild permiting ?

HA your hilarious bud anyone below level 30 would die right after you hit the giant part. there is no way you could have anyone below 45 doing this well maybe a few but mainly 45 + do these raids.

Because your guild needs you. go kick the crap out of vox so that your guildies can get the loot. im a 51 monk and i just went on a vox raid, because my guild said they wouldnt help with my epic if i didnt go. hehe. might as well help out your guild so that they'll help you out later on.

It was taken out of the game a while ago. It was said to be to powerful. I'm not sure what level the pet was, but I guess it was high enough to be unbalancing.

Vox: success
# Dec 04 2001 at 6:11 PM Rating: Decent
Recently ran successful raid. As posted a month in advance, raid was for a scale for myself. Even so 2 bards showed up, and weren't disappointed. 2 scales, horn, bracer dropped. That makes for 2 happy bards, and one slightly peeved, plus me with my scale. Anyway, main startegy was to keep 6 (varies with numbers on raid) well balanced groups established through whole raid. After buffhall/campout, reform those groups. Have melees run in, priest classes immdeiately after, enchanters along with, but other int casters wait 10 seconds. Call nuke at 50 or 60%, depending on enchanters total time sieving. She CHed once, dropped FAST back to 10%, took a long time to finish off. Nearly half the raid died. Overall a success, though most casters and melees were VERY disappointed in the loot. With the new /targetgroupbuff function, the 3 high level chars (DRU, SHM, ENC) were able to buff the raid nicely. This was run with 3 enchanters and 4 clerics, but no ench had ToT. Took about 5 hours total from zone to Perma all the way to porting out. Hope this info helps.

When its said the level cap is 52, does that mean you can still hunt her at 52, or does it mean that at 52, you are too old?
RE: level cap
# Dec 01 2001 at 5:37 PM Rating: Good
It means that you can still fight Lady Vox and Lord Nagafen if you are Level 52 and Below. If you are Level 53+, then you will get punted out of the zone if you get on Vox's or Naggy's hate list.

one thing i learned on my last vox raid
# Nov 21 2001 at 3:25 PM Rating: Default
my last vox raid was a failure for one reason. pit traps. people werent told beforehand they have to go through the rock to get to her lair and half our tanks fell into the pit before even seein her so make sure that everyone knows to go through the rock.
