This hill giant is a pirate living in the Ocean of Tears. He can drop the toes of any kind of Giant, as well as pretty good coin loot, an average 6 to 8 pp.
Has less than 2600 hps. 4 conflaguration(@610 each) and a frost shock(187) put him down. The frost shock is probably overdoing it /shrug but i use it anyway.
While on a corpse recovery mission with my friend to Sister Isle (Dayle Jornin killed us), I spotted this fellow on an island far in the distance from the boat. Not knowing he would take me seriously, my level 2 friend jumped into the water. I told him i was kidding, but i jumped in the water too and swam to him. I got there first because i had better swimming skills.
Wulidien says "Hail, Gornit" Gornit slashes Wulidien for 90 points of damage! Gornit bashes Wulidien for 35 points of damage! Gornit slashes Wulidien for 78 points of damage! Wulidien has been slain by Gornit!
My friend, unknowing that Gornit was aggressive, went to see if I was really dead.
Bam.
A level 7 Paladin dead. A level 2 Warrior dead.
Wrecked our night to say the least. We were both new at the time. I'll gank him sometime though, just for revenge. I remember being bummed out about losing my leather armor and my friend exclaimed to me "Dude I had 5 platinum!!!!!!". I DID recover my corpse, but his rotted due to him being level 2. We laugh about it now though.

Soloed with 20% of my mana left at lvl 45 with 162 WIS. Pulled him with Malisement, rooted, dotted, rooted etc... Dropped low cash but ive heard people getting insane amounts of cash of him.
Hey all you necros, this guys is a great camp, you get everything you need at lvl 39, but dont know if he is doable that low, currently using him to get through lvl 45. here is what i do, Root, dark, scourge, VOS, ignite bones if i feel like it, reapply dots when they wear and put the pet on him when he gets low, it works like a dream for me, althought be careful of all the seafurys out there, and dont hesitate to FD if he gets out of hand, harmshield is good as well to have handy, hope this helps.
just a quick question i am a 40 necro and i prefer to fear giants. could i take him out fearing and if he runs to the seafuries then do any necros out there know if stacking your dots on him and rooting works ok at my level or do i have to wait for the 44 pet. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
I was kiting these with a druid who was on the island last night cause this is where i began my shammy epic the loc i was given was to find a MOB to kill to begin the quest but instead it led me here the loc was pos800 neg5400 nice and easy to take down bout 2k HP tops lot easier then those ******* Ice Giants well have fun. Much love
Just a note: Do not disarm him. When you do so successfully, he shouts out some comment about pirate loot, and his Fine Steel weapon disappears, never to be found again. 5 plat down the drain.
I have been hunting him for the past 3 levels (31-33) with friends. His low range is 33. His high range is 37. He will double hit in the 90's. Do not solo him unless you are 40+. I have been camping him with a lvl 36-37 warr. When I was 31(druid) the fights were always close with the 37 Gornit. He would resist most spells to me at that level. At 31 I had time to med to 90% from OOM before he repoped. He drops from 8g to 39pp. He will drop a lot of change, Fine Steel and All the Giant Toes. A few times I saw words. He usually has 1 or to 2 bad drops in a row. If you get a bad drop (bad drops are less than 20pp :-) ) just wait he will give it up to you. On 16 kills we made 500p. This doesn't include Copper and silver which we always destroyed. A druid for this camp is a must. The worst part about camping such a Cash Cow is having getting all that loot and becoming over weight and having to leave. A druid can port to Misty, Bank and sell for the group and be back in time for the next pop.
3 low 30's can take this Spawn, but you will have to have a healer and a Tank. 2 mid 30's can take it and a lvl 40 should be able to solo it.
Always snare or Root Gornit. When he is low on health, he likes to run to the middle of the island where the seafury's reside.
While the XP is not as good at this level, as The Overthere, It is much safer and the loot is much better.
On a side note while your guild Camps the AC, your 30 support can hang out at Gornit, and be close enough for support. It is just a 1 min run to the AC island. This will give your 30's something to do and still be able to be there for moral support and help if needed.
I tried soloing him to get my focus item, heard this giant had every type of toe so i gave him a shot. He conned blue to my 41lvl mage and i wiped the floor with him the second time though he still conned blue and destroyed my pet before i could even get a spell off. I strongly suggest that you don't try to solo him till your atleast 44 lvl for a safe kill. This critter hits way to hard for his lvl though.
waist of mana and if you cast too early befor pet dies ur screwed cuz it's a 12 second cast "mage that is". solo Oowamp hes much easier and the same lvl and drops much better loot in Tim Deep "if the camps ever not being occupied"
I am currently soloing Gornit as a 40th level mage. Yes it is a hard fight but quite possible. Earth Pet burnout II, Barrier of combustion and nuke nuke nuke. Run through Gornits legs to keep him on your pet. Pet will most likely die but if you time it correctly you should get the nuke in that sets him to run away at around the same point. I dont really recommend soloing Gornit for XP because it is definately not mana effecient, but if you need a certain Giant toe do not be afraid.
To my understanding, he also drops all kinds of toes, (ie fire giant, ice giant, hill giant, etc) This guy is an excellent guy to camp if you're planning on doing the Magician focus quests. With the Shovel, Broom, Torch, Stein etc. I plan on going to this guy soon to camp his toes for my Magician!
Like most other Hill Giants, Gornit drops platinum, gold, silver, and copper along with Fine Steel. On average I'd say about 20pp per kill. There are Seafury, Quag, Tainted and Corrupted Cyclops inhabiting this island but they usually stay well away from Gornit. So long as another player doesn't train them to you, this can be a great place for middle 40's characters to get lots of loot and fair experience when soloing Gornit. Groups could take him much lower. Also he drops a lore pirate ring for the really lame Sister Island quest.
We hunted him last night and he conned white to our lev 36 and sometimes to our level 37. Also he was sometimes blue to the 36. Hes a tough one. Be careful of fearing him in a tough fight because if he runs into the buccaneer camp, even though the stuff is green it will aggro on you.
I don't know about the 33 as minimum level, but i know Gornit has a max level higher than 34. I recently hunted him at level 34 and got blue, even, yellow cons, and even a red con once. So be aware that Gornit can be higher. Easy place to get all toes for focus item quest, and drops a nice amount of coin to boot.
