1825,1848 of you follow the mountain north of the docks around the bottom you should run into him. FROM THE DOCKS Where the trail goes from straight to a sharp turn south, head north from that point and he will be a bit to the west when you get to the mountain. He is a dwarf so he isn't that easy to see, follow your nose, dwarfs had funky BO do yo excessive body hair.

Did this quest on Agnarr a little big ago. Him and a guard were on the side of a hill when I went to do my turn in. I lucked out and got lost looking for his hut and found him lol.

He was apprehensive to me but turn in worked fine.

Fun quest with a nice reward. If you stand in front of the hut (1st hut in from docks, Guard Rundl stands in the door) and turn to the NE you will see a mountain a short distance away. Run due NE to the bottom of the mountain and look up, there is Durkis. Approx 1513, 1129 as per other posts. He will not respond to being hailed (amiable to my Barb shammy) but gives you the gloves in return for letter.

Couldn't find him in hut. Couldn't find him at old specified LOC of 1835, 1050. Camped and had my Ranger track him. Found him at 1513,1129. *Very* tough to spot until you are on top of him since he is pretty well hidden by tree branches (and "half way up a hill" should probably read "almost at top of impassable mountain").

Note that if you are coming from the east (i.e., from his hut) you will need to cross the mountain. He is on the other side (barely).

I uncamped my shammy and did the turn in and got the gauntlets, as advertised.

I found him thanks to your post, that is a stupid spot. I cannot recall how many times I got near him only for gravity to pull me down the hill. I finally gave his feet the note to get the gauntlets.

Guess this is SOE's way to tell you not to do old quests anymore

Addendum: one week later---

He was in his hut today. This was however, *just* after a server reset (merchants only had their default stock, no purchase from players were showing).

So my theory is that he may occasionally chase something S & E and when he tries to make a beeline return, he gets stuck at the top of the other side o the mountain....

Or maybe he goes to the docks for a date every Saturday night & then gets so stinking drunk that he gets stuck going home....
He's stuck on hillside

As per Aug22,2004 he is stuck on that hillside as far as I can tell. Needs to be patched?
Anyways, I brought him the letter and got my Gem Inlaid Gauntlets so at least that part works.

I"ve waited and looked around for this guy for an hour. He is either on a spawn schedule not previously listed, been moved to another location or killed or a combination thereof. He is not at loc +2048 , +401 in that guard hut or behind it. Anyone with a revised location or additional inforamtion please post ASAP.

Thanks

Found him at loc +1835 +1050 halfway up a hillside. Not sure if he is enroute somewhere or permanently moved. If he's not here try asking a friendly ranger to track him for ya.

No Faction?

This is the guy in the small guard hut in BB that you need to give a note to in order to complete the gem inlaid Gauntlets quest.

However he was KOS to my agnostic DE and killed me. If he has no faction then I can't complete this quest? Do I need wolf form or something?

Killing this guy doesn't affect any faction, but he'll regard you the same way Storm Guard (Kaladim warrior guild, and the Kaladim/Butcherblock Guards) regards you. If you're KOS, kill lots of goblins or Cruchbone orcs until the guards regard you at least dubiously, and Durkin will regard you that way too. (WARNING: killing Crushbone orcs will lower faction with the Neriak warrior guild). Dubious faction is good enough to get the gloves from him when you turn the note in. Wolf form might work too, haven't tried that, but try to get someone to open the door for you to con him from a distance if you try that method.

He is found in BB, near Kaladim in the hut guarded by 2 guards. Has no faction and therefore can be pulled w/o losing faction with Kaladim. Also, he is lvl 50 with roughly 10000 hps with almost little to no MR so he's easy to keep control of. Spawn time used to be 2-4 minutes. Was soloable for a high level wiz with 200 int and about 300 to 500 extra mana, but best for druids and necros.

Are you sure you guys aren't all confusing this guy with Gundalthur Izuran? He is the level 40 pally on the island with the merchant. Which makes me wonder, who the heck is this guy?
Durkis Is 40th level

Durkis is 40th level He conned even to me twice on consecutive spawns. We took him down with a 40th level group right at his spawn point on the island in the middle of Dagnors Cauldron. He conned dubious to our group of Iksar, so we felt inclined to attack him.
Conium Darkblade the other NPC on the island, who conned indifferent and level 40, is a merchant whom we didnt bother to attack.

This guy showed up in Butcherblock near 5 stone spawn. Where to Dunbars spawn, and he proceeded to destroy my pet in 3 secs, and than from half way across zone he double attacked me for 176/200 and a kick for 43, got the screenshot as well. But he was in BUTCHERBLOCK and GM was like oh well, no luck for you, thank you J Boots!!!
Actually...

actually this guy is level 40 or around it. A lv45 cleric and (36 dru) tried killing him, he seems to be a bad *** paladin however he didnt cast a whole lot. he hits in the 120s

This npc dwarf also is out on the island and stands near a stone slab. He seems to radiate light or the slab does as you can see if from the cauldron shores at night. I am not sure of this guy's function. He doesn't respond to a regular hail and I have not engaged him in conversation. He apparently ignores any goblins or other creatures that wander by. I assume he is part of some quest I haven't had occasion to learn about.
