seems like any of the cubes on the bottom level of the big pyramid can be a PH, but only 1 of him can be up at the same time. So killing him before another respawn occurs can increase chance of him popping if you just killed him.

As far as his drops go, I've got like 15 rings so far and no aug.. : (

Kiting

I'm having a heck of a time getting to him and finding a safe place to kite him as a druid. Anyone have any advice on this guy, safe places to kite and all that? Anything would help, thank you.
soloed easy on necro

best way i found to camp this mob on my necro is run right to spinx room (bug traps may hit ya but dont stop youwill lose thier agro)where he emits the aura called cipher of the spinx nothing will attack you while in this aura unless you attack something, then i step right outside of room while still in the aura and root rott Photoplasms from there you can kill 3 of the 5 phs from that point make sure he isnt up from the other two phs and i kill just those three till he pops
Easy camp (+undead :P)

3/5 rings, 2/5 augs for me.
Only camped ~3hrs. Actually spawned 2x named at the same time on 1st clearing! Seemed to be 4 or 5 jello PHs total.

Here's my "Safe Camp" map marker (paste in Atiiki_1 mapfile).

P -687.9720, 531.6263, -503.5535, 0, 0, 127, 2, Beetle_(static)
P -804.9499, 644.6263, -503.3104, 0, 0, 127, 2, Beetle_(static)
P -526.6642, 752.5334, -503.5535, 0, 0, 127, 3, Safe_Camp

Also note the two static beetles. Trap mobs here only stay up for ~10-15sec or so. You can run thru the halls, looking for Jello and simply outrun the trapmobs till they depop. Note! The two static beetles will agro socially w/Phobo's when pulling near them.

*edit- Phobolyten + phoboplasm PHs are ALL Undead, tho none see thru ordinary invis :D Multiple slays during my camp session tonight :)

Something i forgot to add...the mobs have a 25 mins respawn timer so kiters have plenty of time to keeel. Hope this helps, be safe.

This guy was easy to camp, he usually spawn after the second run through. It's easy to solo for a necro, when you zone into pyramid invis running through the bug traps as they pop. They wont aggro you if you run fast throught them, IF THEY DO, they will depop after a couple of seconds. You can root kite, or reg kite, i dont root kite so i can use my pet, but whatever works.

So far i've been here about an hour and named has poped twice, rings both times.

On a further note, if the bugs only hit you once then depop, you will live through it because i lived through it, nuff said.

To all the people complaining about the loss of AC: These mobs don't summon and are snarable. That means items like Djirn's ring will have drawbacks in some departments.

This mob is soloable by a necro. I used root/rot and ran my *** off, running past him and getting quaded for a max of 1.8k was the only option i had (hit as low as 600). GL camping him

Is it undead, just like the other blobs?

Also, watch out in the non-instanced pyramids. The zone out is not really a zone out I noticed. Mobs will follow you in and out, and due to warping they will appear on the weirdest places and the least expected moments!

I camped Phobolyten on the bottom floor of the southern most pyramid. It seems like any of the photoplasms down there are place holders.

The safest spot for me was the absolute southeast corner of the bottom level. The hallway that you see looking straight west from that corner doesn't seem to have as many of the awful carrion swarmer traps so I spent all my time there. I focused just on the two spawns that roam along or into that hallway.

Phobolyten behaves like the named in the mission instance "Fate of the Combine": he doesn't see invis, he doesn't summon, he can be snared and he can be rooted. He sometimes warps right on top of me, even if he's snared/rooted, when he gets down to around 25% or so.

One huge hassle with this camp is that a lot of mobs will appear right through the walls. Beetles, turtles, whirling dervishes and others.

So far, he's dropped the ring and aug the same amount of times.

Can anyone give any info on the mob itself other than just it's loot?
Does it summon?
Is it snare/rootable?
Rampage?
And any more precise info on where to find it? PH's?

The placeholder for this mob are any of the photoplasms in the lowest level of the pyramid next to the efreeti game. SW portion of the zone.

Snareable, rootable, doesn't summon and didn't rampage or enrage. Ran at about 8% for me.

ya know for a level 75 mob, the drop has some pretty sh***y ac, I've got a 74 bst that wouldn't even think about putting this thing on. Sure at this point he would gain 15 hp and 50 mana , but he'd lose close to 20 ac.

1) This mob is NOT level 75, he is level 78. (update this accordingly).

2) A mobs level has absolutely nothing to do with the gear that he can potentially drop. What would spurn you to make a statement as such I do not know.

3) AC is NOT a primary nor should it even be a secondary consideration for a leather class when choosing gear. Losing 20 AC is more than justified by the mana gain, and even the 15 hp's. Put all that aside, why is this ... item so shockingly unneedable by yourself, I'm sure you come across that all the time, an item that is ALMOST considered an upgrade but not quite. The game was NOT tailored around >> YOU <<.

Ciao.

Interesting, because I noticed that the ring list more than just the BST class, yet you all are complaining about it. Other classes may find this an excellent upgrade to what they are using currently.

Also, there might actually be a BST out there in the game that could actually use it for the Mana Regen., or the Regen., or even the other added stats. Just because you wouldn't actually ever use this item, doesn't mean that no other BST would. I would just be glad that SOE is giving you the option to choose what you want and develop your character the way you want to. Better to have more options than being severly limited in your selection.

Haha Fatbass. Giving up 20 AC is NOT worth gaining 15 hp, EVER. As a 75 Beastlord I wouldnt give up 20 AC for 100 mana either. I am interested in what primary and secondary stats us Bsts and monks should be lookin for according to you tho.

You know to me its just silly to see all this. The item information is listed above ask a question if you have one but your opinion on whether or not you would wear that particular item is strictly information that you alone need to know not everyone else. Poeple didnt look this up to see whether you would wear it or not. Also like it was said earlier you are not the only person in the game so dont complain if the item isnt an upgrade keep scrolling through till you do find one. If people would spend as much time being gainfully employed as opposed to complaining or whining they would get alot more done.
Nice Ac, not.
