There is another good spot that seems to only have 3 spawns, means less adds. Loc 1100, -1100.
The best place I've found to get these guys is near the pit with the crag ravanger. Camp yourself at the northern exit from the katta-atiki tunnels (loc -130, -1130). From here, move NW over the ridge and you'll see several rhinoback beetles, scatterback scarabs, and hopefully some large scorpions. To check you're at the right spot, you'll see a crag ravager due north of you.

killed 16 of these guys solo and no stinger, then duo'ed with a friend and got two stingers back to back. i would mark as uncommon to rare drop.
