I was able to solo him yesterday with my 75 Necro. He dropped Prideworn Pauldron. Was a little tricky with the stun but I kept my distance and loaded dots up early. Eventually he killed my pet but the dots ticking away early made the fight better. Having a cleric merc was key.

75 Monk + Cleric merc killed a few mins ago. Only hard part was his ridiculous stun. Probably hit me 6-7 or so times with it during the fight and it lasted about 10 seconds each time. Cleric merc was almost OOM when he started to run at about 10%. Also, don't know if this was just bad timing or something, but he got a stun off the second before he started to run at 10%, so he was almost back in the pirate camp before I was unstunned and could finish him off. Had about 3 adds on me when he finally died and I had to FD at like 2% health. So, be careful if you are soloing and he's about to run.

Soloed this guy on Drinal with my 80 cleric. Used Vow victory, retribution self buff proc, normal cleric buffs. Used Blood devotion damage shield and clicky damage shield. Be sure to have heal pots and use Renewal on self constantly so when stunned your still able to heal. The Vow victory/valor also has hot proc so dont use hot potions since it over writes and wastes the potion timer. BEware all kinds stuff aggros so be sure to root him when he turns to run at 15%. First try got to many adds had to run to docks and jump on boat to drop aggro. There are 2 docks so plenty of chances to outrun aggro and hop on boat. Aggro should drop before you zone. Always have soe or foe on.

This was fun little necro battle. 75 necro prevailed lol ok took 3 times but i didnt se the bit about the mad marta like stun his is worse i think. Anyway

I was able to shake off the stun effect, so the stun portion of the spell is resistable
The stun is definitely a spell, but you can stay out of range with a bow and with Ranger nukes. He has not summoned nor enraged in our encounters. He spends quite a lot of time casting, so his DPS is not all that high. The biggest issue when group is keeping aggro locked on the tank, who will be stunned frequently. It would be good for casters to stay below other plate and chain classes on the aggro list if possible.
He has dropped the ring the three times we have killed him, plus some vendor loot - one of the new diamonds this morning, for instance.

As Karthos points out the stun is a spell and has a decent range on it. Read proc and thought he'll never touch me, wrong!
Mob was yellow to 75. So, could be 76 or 77 too.
Hit 1365 max on beast that I saw. Easily slowable. The stun is a DD spell and very long lasting so soloing might be difficult for those not able to take many hits.

Soloed with a 75 pal 17k/3.7 self-buffed, max hit 1227 on me with max shielding. He procs the stun quite frequently. Ended up with 8m and Hand of Tranq down. Dropped the ring.
