there are 2 VERSIONS OF DORN i am a lvl 25 warrior and he always /con's green to me. i kill hi for steel warriors faction (good for us iksar's who think that the freeport merchants are nice) when i take him usually he only does 1 bubb of dmg to me and fights like a lvl 18 or so, but occasionally, he takes me to 1 bubb of hp, and fights like a lvl 23-25 with lots of hp, hitting for mid-to-high-30's. i have yet to see a dragoon dirk, so i guess it is a very rare drop (killed him 15 times now). Hope this helps with everyone trying to camp derv 1.

Just for u guys who seem so sure of killing Dorn, there are 2 different Dorn spawns. Both spawn at the same spot, the derv camp in nro. BUT, they are named sligthly different, and fight very much different. Go see for ya self.I like to see ya under 20th getting ripped by HIM.

A week or so ago I was running around NDRo just hunting and looking when a monk shouts dorn up.
I owed him a couple so off I went. Monk pulled him to plat and I went to work with a lvl 20 Paladin. I have ghoulbane so don't know if it is fair fight or not but hey I owed him it felt so GOOD.

20th level shammy and I, a 19th monk couldn't solo him, so we teamed up and *just barely* took him. Shammy was OOM healing me, we were both buffed and I was down to 1 bub without a mend when Dorn started running. No dragoon dirk unfortunately. But it was fun to get revenge on that *******.

While going for a strole along the sea with a pleasant sea breeze keeping me cool simply walking, whistling and mabey killing the odd dervish cutthroat this guy jumped out and whooped me hitting for 30dam. He cannot be the lvl he conned! Was blue to me but killed me fast.

im a 27 monk coned green to me had to go get payback on him from when he killed me when i was 22 but when i was 22 seemed hen had alot of more hp and and hit alot more at 27 did land one hit and took mabey 5 seckonds to kill

While travelling to oasis with my enchanter to kill cazel this guy jumped me and hit for 236 somehow i turned and ran at this to get some room between me and him. He backstabbed for 523 not to say i died.

Quite magic resistant this guy is.. As a 25 wizard he resisted 6 out of 8 roots and partially resisted my ice shock which hits for 172 (most I hit him for was 130). An easy kill if you can root him.

I went back and killed him 2 more times this time with a party consisting of me a lvl 15 magician with a burntout earth pet, lvl 14 warrior, and a lvl 11 cleric. And not once did he drop the dirk! I gues my question is How often does he drop it???

So there I am running thru the derv camps at lvl 15 almost 16 and no one will let me in when low and behold there is a free and empty derv camp(so I thought...), a lvl 45 magician walks up and asks me if I want her kill Dorn for me. I said I would rather that she stay and makesure that he dosent have his way with me, she agrees and I decide to nuke him. I usulay nuke for my max, 47 as a lvl 15 magician should so I thought okay lets give it a try so I cast and what.... 1 DAMAGE!!! I figure what the heck I've got nothing to lose so I deploy my earth pet, cast both my area effect spells and nuke him about 8 times and all gone by by Dorn. She congratulated me but I was flamin angry all that mana my pets life and no Dragoon's Dirk... Even still I guarontee I wont try this stunt again. I will bust consider my self to be lucky and stay where I like it, nice and safe at the Ruins Derv camp.

wow, there are alot of horror stories about this guy, i guess i was lucky, back when i was level14 i was running around killing dervs solo, i had a clarity and alacrity so it wasnt that much of a problem, then dorn pops, i con him, he seems to be easy kill, but then doubles for 27, i didnt have a chance of casting so i went melee, he seemed to miss pretty often and i only lost a red an a half, good exp and everything, so im not sure what happened, he never really hit me, btw i wasnt twinked and i still am not twinked (im still wearing some patchwork =( ) so i guess you might get lucky like me and have him miss most of the time, if not i'll come over and get him for you =) he cant be harder than a SG =)

I fought him for the first time tonight. I considered soloing him with my lvl 16 SK. (he conned blue). I figured I could cast Fear and Darkness, and it would be all over. Yeah, right.
Well, I thought better of soloing him, and formed a group with a 14 paly, and 13 caster (can't remember which class... she was anon so I couldn't double check). I pulled with darkness, which he resisted. He also resisted fear and disease cloud. Lifespike just didn't do enough against his damage, so I gave up and just meleed with him. I was the tank, and after my health bar started dropping QUICK I was having second thoughts. I hit him with harm touch early, and brought his health way down. The paly was a little late with LoH, and I went down very soon after. The 2 remaining party members managed to finish him, however (just barely). He dropped the Dragoon Dirk, which we sold for 50 pp, and split the proceeds among the 3 party members.
90 min later we took him again... this time with an extra lvl 12 SK. He attacked us while we were fighting 2 other dervs from the camp... very bad timing, I thought we were toast for sure. Both of SK's hit him with HT and drained him to about 1/4 hp. This time, my paladin friend wasn't late with LoH, and managed to keep me alive long enough to get dorn down to about 1/8 hp, when he started running (if he would have stood his ground, I would have been dead for sure). But, he turned and ran, and we took him down again.
So, even with relatively low level characters, he is beatable, even with melee types. The trump card was the paladin/SK combo. Outdamage him with harm touch, and outlast him with Lay on Hands.

He is underconned but not WAYYY!!! Underconned. I am a level 14 Warroir, with a group of:

Like his phonetic brother, DVinn, Born drops the Dragoon Dirk. I camped him with a group for about 4 hours and he dropped it once. Also like DVinn, he hits a lot harder than he cons. My pets (15th level Magician) who conned the same as he does are nothing but kamikaze fodder against him. You'll probably want 2 or so tanks on him and if he gets you down to 3 bubbles, you may as well run. Any lower and he'll concentrate solely on you, to the inclusion of running for his own life. Once he starts to run from you, drop him fast! Otherwise he likes to do this zig-zag crap towards the undead ruins that makes it impossible to hit him. Other note is that he won't attack if you kite the dervish and vice versa. I guess they don't like each other, but the dervish can't get rid of him. They don't need to worry, cause this guy killed me when I was a new sixteen and dropped my back to fifteen. I had scribed all my spells and now I can't use them. Suffice it to say, I will make sure he does not live too long after he spawns for a while.

I am lvl 29 cleric and happened to be going through NRO. A group camping the dervs asked if a high lvl would kill Dorn for them. I went over and conned him at green and said sure. So I cast enstill and rooted him and then Dorn proceeds to resist 4 wraths in a row. I try to reroot him he resists. Luckily I had SoW from a passing druid or I would have died. He was hitting for 30-45 dual wield. If this guy is really 16-19 that means I am atleast 10 lvls higher and he resists everything. Hard to believe.

I am just going to say that Dorn is underconned like everyone else, but it varies. I killed him 4 out of 5 times with my 23 ranger, twinked with ivy etched armor, wurmslayer and polished granite tomahawk. Sometimes I would kill him like nothing and others I would have only 20Hp left. SO that is that =)

Otherwise, He is not an undercon (a level 19 damage cap is 20, I believe (checked on my SK with a dark reaver and 2 Jagged bands, total str 96 without siphon strength) while I was under level 20.
I know he would be no prob for a 25, but please, I can solo him without a problem. BTW, I suck at Fear Kiting (just love Vampiric Embrace too much), so No, I didn't fight him that way. Anyone want to call me a liar, bet my fee for character transfer to your server and I will do it, provided there is NO outside interfearance.

Dorn is WAY underconned, he might be level 16 but he fights like a 25 and hits for at least 30+ damage a strike, dont attack him until level 20+ unless u have a death wish

Alright, he does con wrong, unless he is an ungodly strong yellow con to lvl 12. However, I had a full group the other day, and we killed him three times, and usually all survived. Im a warrior, we had a 14cleric, 10nec, 12nec, 12ranger, and a 12pally. So, while he is a very strong little elf, we did kill him three times with a full group around lvl 12. So, it can be done.

I am a level 38 chanter who was running through North Ro today, when I saw this guy running around killing people left and right, so I rooted him, didn't stick. Tashaned him, then rooted him, didn't stick. He was double hitting me for 20's. So finally I get a root off. Then cast five anarchies on him of which he resisted four. Basically I had to run for the zone, if i hadn't had a sow I would have died.
So I rest up, and bring out my lv 34 pet and haste him up. Pull out my damage shield and slow debuffer and go for revenge. I pulled him out with tashan, slowed him down, and ds my pet, and he died really fast this time. No spy or widow mite came out and no dragoon dirk.
I guess the moral is that he has really high MR, so enchanters beware.
So I rest up, and bring out my lv 34 pet and haste him up. Pull out my damage shield and slow debuffer and go for revenge. I pulled him out with tashan, slowed him down, and ds my pet, and he died really fast this time. No spy or widow mite came out and no dragoon dirk.

Im a lvl 22 iksar warrior with some pretty good armor and Using SSoY (8/24) and a Berserker Sword (12/36) and i went after this mug and had to run to Oasis when he was at half his life and i was at 1 1/5 life( made it thank god) but he will die soon when i make lvl 23 ill have FBSS and Iksar cerimonal armor (ac 19 permnent regen effect)
