Dorn B`Dynn  

Dorn is an easy kill for my 35th druid, so i rooted him in place and he was dead before he had a chance to move. Anyway, he dropped the Skull of Jhen'Tra, mana +20 sv magic +3, prim/sec, all/all.

Im a 27 druid and i soloed Dorn at 24. The key i found was stick to snare. If he resists stand in and recast once it sticks (and it always has for me) he is easy kill. Gix on the other hand resists far more. With him after about 3 failed attempts its time to bail. Ive killed Dorn about 10 times this way and havent lost. Hope this helps. ok im a 12 agnostic enchanter.. like every good enchanter should be.. well anyways i was just passing through NRo and seen him up.. i never killed a derv yet on this char and conned indiff.. thought maybe he might have a quest since he is named and alot of named mobs people kill for loot can also have a quesy buried in em somewhere..so i smacked an alliance on him and hailed him.. this is the text as follows:

Dorn B'Dynn says' Just who are you? Do you expect some sort of courteous greeting? I have no time for idle chitchat!! Either you are here to attend business or you are here to seek shelter, which is it?

Alluress says 'I seek shelter'

Dorn B'Dynn says'In the western planes of Karana, you will find Goonda. He seems to be the Ogre shaman in charge out there.

Note he gives you reads:

as a lv 12 i dont get ogre illusion till 20. But i would like to pursue this quest to see where it goes.. i will turn into both parties(Trolls and Ogres) and see what happens.. i will try to look up more info about this quest as well and post here on the end results soon....

i am a lvl 18 necro and i have succesfully soloed and killed dorn. the trick is to remeber that he is a false con. here is what i did to kill him. and the score now is dorn 1, me 4. i plan on going back and kill him somemore later. here is what i did. first i pulled with heat blood, he might resist then again he doesn't. i had this spell land on him when my lvl 16 heart flutter wouldn't. i did not and will not suggest trying to darkness/root/snare him as i have not seen anyone of that style of spells hit. now i am not a twinked character. after he comes at you, and he is fast, i sicked my pet on him, then i casted lifedraw, wich lands on him everytime. doing about 45 points of dmg and healing me for 45 points. that is all that i have done to kill dorn. i pull with heat blood, sick pet, then lifetap him till he dies. i have come out of this fight everytime with full health and about 50% mana, and my pet will be anywhere from 30-50 % health. that is it that is all that i have done. and i have lived to tell about it.

I know of a DE named DVinn in Clan Crushbone, now this seems to be his brother twin, cusin or what ever but they all meet the same way. Only differance is DVinn is listed as a 22 Rogue ( THAT WILL PUT A HURTING ON YOU ). Now all this seems to be around the same. Is there any history that anyone may know of that would link these 2 together? I know a lot of people that have plaied in CB, know of DVinn and know him well. I personaly have never met up with Dorn, and by the looks of it I am kind of glad, I had enough trouble hunting in CB with people pulling DVinn down from the Tower.

If anyone has any info on these 2 please post this is very interesting.

Whats Dorn's spawn rate?

he'a lvl 13 mob, BS!. About a month ago when my 28 war halfling was a lvl 12, i grp'd with a 13 monk and this fool dropped us like lil ******** Dont even say that we're weak either, cuz if uv'e fought this biotch u would know he hits up to 30, PLUS THIS FOOL HAS DOUBLE ATK! over all i would say this guy is a perfect example of some serious underconnage.

Hmmmm. I'm a 14 Bard (untwinked) and I solo'd Dorn quite easily. Long and boring, yes. As my first attempt at Bard kiting, I just did a reasonably tight box twisting Selos (for speed) and Boastful Bellow (hitting for an av. of 5). The most nerve-wracking part was probably pulling his Derv buddies out one at a time prior to dancin' with Dorn. All he dropped was a Cats Eye Agate. I'm going to go back and try for the dirk.

Ok, I was wandering through Nro and looked at derv 1, I wondered if dorn was up, when I saw an empty camp. I sat down for no reson. well...

Well being an enchanter, I died sort of fast
and a little advice,

A: UNDERCON!!!!!
B: double attacks!
C: If you have a charm like spell that lands on him, ZONE AS FAST AS YOU CAN
D: He seems to have a mid level form of SoW on him, because i had A level 15 SoW and he easily out ran me

I too had him com lt blue to my 24 druid while passing through NRO sometime after another char of mine in a group of 5 killed him and looted the dragoon dirk off him (only 2 out of 5 of us all in high teens survived). So I figured I would pick me up a dirk solo....no problem right. I took on wolf form and buffed up completely and at full mana pulled him with a snare....it didn't take, rooting him failed too. Fortunately I was able to zone to FP with one bub life left. I thought about my failure ans was determined to get him and my new plan worked great....here it is. Again in wolf form ( regular SOW probably good enough too) I pulled him with snare, again it failed. This time I just ran far enough ahead of him to stop, hit him with Careless Lightning, and run just before he caught up to me. Just repeated till he was dead. Used up like 3/4 of my mana but plenty of time to med while he respawned. Also he resisted too much the Dizzying Wind so don't use that one or you may run dry of mana.

Oh yea, still have not gotten the Dragoon Dirk from him but have killed him about 10 times this way....little to no exp from him but SATISFACTION is good too sometimes.
