For me Sulfurog spawned just north from the skull. Cleared the northern and north-western groups of goos. I believe it took me about 1 hour (3-4 spawn cycles).
Dropped the torch, caster sandals and plate helm mold.
As a 73 monk with no snare I had to pull the goos quite far from the spawn point so when they ran at 20% I still had time to finish them off before they ran into adds. With snare kills would be much faster.
This camp can be easily soloed by a 75+ melee class with HoT potions or clickies. But at 73 everything was DB and gave great AA exp with a healer merc.

I found this little blob up but it was nowhere near where its listed as being. I found it at 2705, 1400. about halfway across the area strait west of where its posted as popping.

Summons pretty often but still was able to solo as a 80 wiz, just burned him quick with Cloudburst Bolts while he was beating on me.

Took the suggested advice and started clearing NW oozes. Sulfurog spawned after about 20 kills and dropped quest torch, plate mold & boots. Solo'd by 75 ranger w/400aa: used WS and Swarm slow proc'd early, one healing potion did it. Good luck!

Seems like they have lowered the spawn rate or something, I killed about 100 today in a spot where I have gotten several spawns in the past and nada.

the quest drop for the Charm of Lore just dropped for us. First kill of the night.
Just thought I would throw my info in regarding the charm upgrade piece and its drop rate for me. Took me 7 kills to get, maybe around 6 hours in total over 2 days. On day 2 I spent about 4 hours camping mob, did not pop at all for almost 3 hours then got 4 in the final hour, of course the last kill it finally dropped it.
Hi Teaan, question - how long ago was this? When I have tried camping him, he's only dropped the katta castrum quest piece. Did he drop the torch for you recently?
At the moment this mob is dropping a quest item for the "Evidence of Unity" Katta Castrum mission generally instead of the Charm piece that is supposed to be there. Just got done camping this guy for about 10 hours to have him drop the wrong item 3 times in a row and decided to just wait until his loot table is fixed.
Suggest others do the same and skip him till hes patched.

BEST advice I can give, Found him up once north part of zone. Then cleared a whole load of mobs south of zone a different time, no pops.
Moved upto north part of camp, and got THREE spawns of named in less then 10 mins! ALL of them dropped the part for charm as well!! Was insanely lucky suppose, but DEFINATLY camp the northern part for this mob!

not sure exactly what spawn timer is, but we managed to kill him at 3 times in 3 hours the other night. dropped mold once and dropped the charm piece every time

Dropped ancient silk pattern 1 time and rage moss the next.
I would advise clearing all of the oozes north of the dragon skull. If you are that good, clear more. I had a group of 75 clearing almost all of the area, and it popped only once.

Have killed him 25 times over the past week and he has dropped a helm pattern/mold 5 times. 2 plate, 2 chain, 1 silk. Of course what I need is leather.......LOL. Has dropped the rage moss 3 times. Terrilbe boring monotonous camp. Can't wait till I never have to go there again. He does summon. My 75 bst 13k htpt/2100 AC easily tanks him with hot from a cleric. EQ=EverCamp..... -(

Final stats on sulfurog camp. 34 kills, 9 patterns; 1 leather; 2 silk; 3 plate; 3 chain.
THis mob does NOT drop the mage spell, only the black oozes seem to drop it.

We took him down yesterday(1/20/07) on Prexus with lvl 70 Druid, 70 Beasty, 70 Mage, 62? SK, another lvl 70 toon(don't remember class) and me, lvl 71 Warrior. He was a very easy fight, hit me for no more than 1k max with Druid healing. I was at 13khp/2.1kac during the fight. At lvl 71 he conned yellow to me so he is higher than lvl 70 as is stated here.
Does anybody know what he hits for? And is the rampage AoE?
Reflection should be well timed rather than time-consuming.

Since the December 13th patch, I have not been able to get Sulfurog to spawn. Anyone else experiencing this?

Just camped this guy for 3 hours. In that time frame I had 7 Sulfurog spawns. Dropped 5 Helm Molds to include
2x An Ancient Helm mold
1x An Ancient Skullcap Pattern
1x An Ancient Leather skullcap Pattern

This is a very good camp IMHO. If you are looking for an easy camp to get your helmet this is the one. Camped with 73 Cleric Bot, 72 Bot Shaman, 71 Bot Enchanter, 75 Ranger tank.

can confirm after about 2 hrs of camping saw plate,leather,and silk patterns drop... would say he probably drops all the hats.

He drops the chain mold as well. Just looted it but not sure how to provide proof.
He spawn in the pool at 3100, 1170. We tried multiple other locations and that is the only place he spawned at...
Saw him at three different spots in the area, so there are at least several locs if not every ooze for a PH.

a 74 ranger, 71 necro and myself, a 72 Druid, took him down today and he does summons and rampages. Droped a leather patren and not chain this time. =)

yes he summons, and rampages as posted above, he has 3 phs that ive seen so far but does not drop a helm pattern every time as most of the other armor mobs do

Lower level mold droppers do not drop the molds every time. Higher level ones do. I.E. Icefall and Direwind mold droppers will always drop the molds. Sunder and Steepes mold droppers will not.
It is a good tradeoff IMO. If you can't handle the Direwind camp, you can still get the helm mold in Sunder, it will just be a longer camp. If you can handle the helm mold dropped in Direwind, then that is the place to be.
