Has anyone seen this guy up recently? On Bristlebane I've been checking for him every day for the past couple weeks and haven't seen him. I suppose it's possible someone is keeping him perma dead but that seems odd for such an old mob with no tradeable loot.
90 necro 3919 aa's, 90 chanter 2341 aa's, 90 war 1745 aa's. 2 healer mercs, 1 wiz merc
Sent war in with final stand, hit all agro discs, hand merc wiz on burn but not asisst, chanter slowed and tashed, warrior engaged until the adds started popping.
Adds started, war hit assist on merc wiz burn mode, chanter started AOE spam mez and hit Tash AA, had runic aura and twincast aura runnning.
Chanter spammed group rune from tiem to time, but he kept most mezzed.
Necro hit greater hold on pet so it stayed on Oblivion hit all my discs and just burnt him down.
Took three tries to get the Essence of Speed.
Think he pops like every 2 - 3 days.
Don't think anyone remembers that he drops it.... but I did.

Solo'd today with 90 monk and 90 t5 cleric merc - cakewalk :)

Took him down with 8 + 8 Mercs. Some of the mercs were tanks, most were healers. Three T5 Healers, One T5 Tank.

Looked to me like adds were timed.... not percentage.
Adds are called An Unstable Clone and come about 5 to 10 at a time. They are low HP and explode (5K AoE) a short time after spawning.

Heya,
We killed him tonight. Had about 35 folks (CoA gear avg). We just mezzed the adds as they popped. A few of 'em got out ahd popped for 5k. The mob went down pretty easy. Just grab the adds when he spawns 'em and yer fine. His loot table was pretty weak in general, but we killed several new mobs. He drops 1 of the TSS core pieces. No special strategies really. The mob himself was pretty straight forward. Was about a 3 min fight.

how many dark core's does he drop per kill?

The adds do not explode on death, they explode after a set time.
They do not have 1hp as some rumors say, they have a few k hp.
Mezzing freezes the timer it seems. So you can either mezz them thru the whole event or kill them fast.

Have a FD'r agrro and FD. this will pop his adds.
Wait for adds to despawn.
Take a pally, DA and pull. Now you have ramp tank and MT set up.
Adds can be mez locked. there are 8-10 adds or so.
Do not damage the adds, they have low HP and launch a 20' 5k unresistable nuke if they die. You can have someone non dmg aggro and pull from the main raid and kill off 1 at a time.
More adds will pop regardless if the 1st set is killed.
There is a Root, and a silence and a snare, there was too much chaos for me to look for the spell mesages, but here si what I got:
At some point there is a message about his skin bubbling up etc..

He aslo goes through several phases in and out of his surface hardening.

Anyone have a firm idea on how and when adds are triggered off this event? We have won it but have has wildly differnt experances with it's adds. Sometimes none till 50% other times right from the start.

How many Oblivion's Dark Core does this mob drop? We have many people doing Charm of Lore, wanted to know if we would have to repeatedly kill mob or not. If we do that would realy s***.....

This mob can be found at the north wall of the west side of the zone. It is marked on my map (mapfiend).
I noticed another named just near it too (mixed in with the Oozes), called Baladaboop or something - when u aggro it, it spawns "help" in the form of bloops. Didn't hang around long enough to kill it though, sorry :-(

a bunch of little adds spawn as you kill him. not sure if its by % or by time.

Seems like there is not enough said on a raid mob until AoE's, adds/spawns are accounted for, case in point.
