I tried to solo it as a 72 ranger. I used drifting fog to keep the others from training. He summons frequently and casts. Hits for 400-850. It's snare, root, and slowable which helps. I got it down to 40 percent before dieing. Tricky pulling them as they are grouped with named close by...all KOS. They should be relatively easy at this level with a healer.

The Black ones summon as well from my experience, the others don't seem to.

The black oozes seem to be wizzy type mobs. I have seen them as level 70 and level 71 mobs. They move quite fast for a blob, so watch out.

Not sure what spells you were getting hit with, but I was being hit with Necro spells. Insideous Retrogression and Dooming Darkness, just to name a few.
