For two days solid nothing but leather and silk.
I have killed him and whitewater at least 15 times each in the last 2 weeks and given away plate molds numerous times! no chain!
killed twice in 6 hours dropped leather and chain i want my GD plate mold! >< camped him for 2 hours after that and nothing

have they messed with the spawn timers of this mob and the others?
used to be i'd get him spawned quite often...but now i've been at one of the camps and haven't seen him in about 6 hours of play time

Camped this area for about 6 hours today, only spawned him (and Darkmist) 4 times.... twice in the first hour, 3rd time about 2 hours later, and 4th time about 2 hours after that.
Did notice that Whitewater and Darkmist seemed to spawn within one cycle of each other all 4 times, and only got one mold (chain) from Whitewater from all 4 kills :(

dono wat is going on but i killed him like 10 times no gloves at all!

For those that don't know, a mob that can drop molds in Sunderock / Steppes aren't always going to drop a mold. Its a rare drop.
Mobs that drop molds in Direwind/Icefall will always drop a mold.

droped him dead on his ass last last night.....he gave up the sunderspring belt,serp diamond,ancient leather glove pattern

Tried him solo as a 74 Ranger - not uber or anything but about 10500HPs and 1975ish AC.
Earthcaller proced on the first swing which was nice, but I just couldn't manage it even with that. Used WS and a HOT potion and got him to 40% before I snuffed it.

The wife and I got this guy in the upper springs last night. Conned white to level 71's. Warrior/Shaman = me, Druid/Mage = Wifey. No Time or Anguish gear involved, just GM/Arcstone stuff. It was a good fight although we weren't in harm's way. The nice thing is, besides the sunderspring belt, he also dropped the ancient chain glove mold for my shammy. Now if only we can get the augs to drop off the drakes :-) Well, persistency is one of our virtues. Good hunting all :-)

Well gratz to you on the rare mold drop hehe... Ive downed it 13 times in about 30 hours worth of play striaght camping it... and nothing... sure the aug and belt drops frequently.. but the mold / pattern drop I think is far too rare of a drop on this mob.

Downed this guy 8 times in the past 24 hours not a single pattern or mold drop any of the times... Have they changed which mob drops the TSS armor molds/patterns?

I believe this mob no longer drops the Ancient armor molds/patterns. I've been at this camp today October 11th for most of the evening and killed it three times, never dropped the armor pieces - but i did win the augment. The bracer mob (Darkmist) at this camp is still dropping molds / patterns however.
Cancel that ... 4th time is a charm. Whitewater dropped a plate Gloves mold on our last kill. Whats still strange is that every other named mob for Tier 1 armor i have killed has dropped a mold/pattern on each death, whereas this one only dropped 1 mold in 4 kills.

Heh - Chef Gudez in the Steppes (Arms) drops his molds only VERY rarely.

can he be soloed ?
He's lvl 71 I am a beastlord I soloed him at lvl 70 he isnt that tough - maybe hits as high as 1k or so - but his hitpoints are low then what you'd expect so just use your disciplines and stuff and healing potions

Where does this guy spawn?
right before you zone into Direwind Cliffs zone (top right of map) you will see little pools with water elementals in them - any of these are placeholders for Whitewater and the other guy that spawns and they both have a chance to drop a mold or pattern or whatever for the armor quests
Website manager please add An Ancient Leather Glove Pattern to his list of drops - also please add the quest http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3591 to that drop as well to help people out who get these pieces

haha thanks - its just that I've seen some posts in general with people linking an ancient patterns and molds and stuff and they cant find the quest on alakhazam so thought I'd try to help them out :) thanks again
