NOW for all of you who have messed up your keepers of the Arts Faction (evil Linlara Parlone)

Shrouding down to a rogue - sneaking and hiding behind Niola AND doing the batwing quest works!!! Using the formula I found by this kind soul who posted this in combination with the above website got me to warmly QUICKLY comparitively :) Takes about 30 minutes for 1000 batwings if you go nonstop (they stack to 100 now) - (excluding the ensuing insanity and numb fingers) This post is wonderful and thank you!!!!: (4 batwings to one faction point)

2100 batwings = 525 faction hits. Amiable spans 400 points, kindly spans 250.

With many sighs of relief and one VERY happy mage who can once again go HOME without being killed! :)

I killed Linara perhaps 6 times with my gnome mage looking for the page of mastery: water drop (didn't get it) and absolutely ruined my Keepers of the Art faction. I've been killing Kizdean Gix in W.Commons all night to make up for it and still haven't gotten out of scowl range -- I can't even approach Niola Impholder to do the bat wings faction quest, nor will elven slaves in Crushbone accept keys from me. For many it may not matter about Keepers faction as you won't often run into them, but for character purposes I prefer to be on pleasant terms with good-aligned factions. It just wasn't worth it to kill Linara when I could have kept on with the dark elf mages and dark-boned skellies in the zone.

If you con dubious for Faydark Champions and King Tearis Thex, you can improve both very nicely with the Muffin for Pandos quest in W.Freeport. (Took about two bags full to get to amiable... seems to take *lots* and *lots* more to get any higher -- I'm still at it.) I'm hoping that if you have high faction with those two that you might be able to do the bat wing quest with Niola in S.Felwithe to repair the ridiculous difficult Keepers faction.

If your Keepers faction is still bad, you will still be on bad terms with Niola...be aware of that! As I stated on two other forums...shroud down to a rogue, get your bat wings, hide and sneak BEHIND her, and start handing them in...it really works! Be patient though...this faction is tough to get back...I, too, killed that dang, uppidy high elf in Najena in hopes of pages for my 1.0...BAD IDEA folks! hehe

i was grouping with a level 57 mage (my 39 mage) in here since neither of us gets exp from thse greens, he was working on epic i was getting extra focus items for friend and he kills her... i'm like what the f**k, i lost no faction (did not help kill her) and she dropped the shovel and the torch!! so i don't know maybe its worth nuking the whore....

I always hated High Elves but now I hate them even more. I'm just patrollin around Najena when bam! pit trap. I'm all alone nobody else is in the zone and I didn't have my pet cuase everything was green. I get nuked/meleed for half my dmg then I get charmed. Nothing happens for 5 minutes then I come out of charm and manage to Gate before that stupid pet of hers interrupts me again. conned db to a 31 necro. I'll be back for my revenge!

Her respawn is pretty quick. Only 5-6 minutes (she respawned before her pet's corpse decayed from the previous fight).

The injured halfling also respawns pretty quick (same timer).

arg, i hate enchanter mobs. i was camping ekeros and the magicians around there for my epic (am a mage), and there was a group of people around level 30 hunting. a 27 dark elf sk got charmed by linda, and attacked me (it drove me crazy cause im a high elf, and why the hell would she attack me?). she charmed me (i believe she debuffed me too) and so me and this sk fought. i uncontrollably nuked him dead... and got a tell from him asking why i killed him and such. when i told him i was charmed, and not to blame me for being there, he said 'well youre high level you should have better resists than that.' well, i got news for you, maybe i SHOULD have better resists... but i dont, so get over it. besides, chanters debuff <shrug>. also had an iksar attack me in there, but my pet killed him and i couldnt get it to stop (the ds mainly tore him apart). anyways.. just watch out for her.

All I have to say is I'm going to have one helluva time trying my epic, especially with this last week. First, I'm in NK, and get killed by Xan****, whatever the named treant is, because I wa grouped with a dark elf...then, I'm in Najena last night, and our dwarf cleric and the same dark elf, a shadowknight, fall through the pit...just my luck. Linara rapes the cleric, a dwarf, and proceeds to start bashing the SK. I get there just in time to heal the SK, and nuke Linara (2 combusts)...but I was only at 40m anyway, so I start meleeing Linara. She was down pretty far, and we both knew the SK would die...she HT'd Linara, but then the pet killed her. I start meleeing the pet when our 2 meatshields, a 31 warrior and 29 paladin, arrive...a bit to late. I cast dismiss summon, and they hit the pet a few times. I scroll back up, and La dee f***ing da, my faction drops with both the Kelethin rangers and the high elves needed for the druid epic grocery list part. Oh well, there's always a muffin for Pandos...

So there i was, after killing the priest of najena, trying to hail this little high elf enchantress. I hail her.. and blah blah i hate dark elves, so then i hop in her sell thinking why not, sounds fun, she conned green, i hail her again and starts to cast somethin... weird she debuffed me of sow, then sends pet. Ouch! so a druid friend(lvl 42) and i(lvl 40) nuke her to death. But... i want my mystic cloak! stupid Girl! Oh well, If someone can tell me how to get her to see me indifferently that woudl be great, thanx.

Oh btw. you can't cast wolfform in dungeons... hehe tried it. and Necros don't get illusions, Friend said try to cast call of bones, try the skele illusion.. i haven't tried it yet.

OK im a lv 15 pally whos getting the parts of his ghoulbane and i come to najena cuz i already got the blade and heart so this is the first time ive been here and im walking around and i kill a few elems with the help of a lv 27 AK and so we head thru a hallway and all of a sudden.... BOOM!!! the floor opens up around me and i fall in this $%#$%$% cell which i used to not have the key to so the elems attack me then she charms me and kills the sk and sics me on a lv 20 some odd ranger, 20 some odd warrior, and 50 some odd mage who are ouytside the cell! so im thinkin oh no a lv 50+ mage im dead meat but luckily somehow they figure out im a pc after i drop to a half bubble and they all (except the mage) get killed by me and so the mage runs and i end up patrolling around her cell for 5+ minutes until the mage shows up and cancels magic me or maybe the spell just wore off but im far enuff from the cell that i dont get aggroed so the mage leads me out and i never did get that hilt yet even tho i killed (not by myself) who knows how many "a skeleton"s and so i wish i knew why this wont drop but anyway i tell u i wont go just wanderin around anymore i tell u that!

Yesterday i Was in the big upper room with my lvl 25nec fighting a TT and earth elementals,when suddenly this nice HE girl runs in with her pet. Thought she was a new arived PC so i'm quite surprised when she attacks, don't know if she fear or carmed me but it didn't last long so i started running out of there and nearly made it...
After recovering my corpse i make a new pet and goes in for a rematch. Running forward and back lookin' for her when suddenly her pet attacks from one of the tunnels,put him down and loot a nodrop shield and scim(quest items i think..??)but she don't show up so i let it go for now.
I was alone in there at the time.

I was able to us the Ball of Clay Golem (casts illusion of Earth Elemental). As an Agnostic Dark Elf Mage, I conned Apprehensively with the illusion of Earth (normally was 'Ready to attack'). If you worship Innorak, I believe you will con Threateningly (and thus will need to use invisible to give key -- you will pop during trade, but she should complete the trade -- give you the letter -- then attack you).

Although 3 factions are listed, ONLY Keeper of the Arts will affect her. Raising the other two factions does nothing. I am Ally with Feldwith Champs and dubious with King factions and I am still 'Scowls, Ready to Attack.'

IMPORTANT for Dark Elves: Keepers of the Art is Directly Opposite The DEAD (Neriak SK and Necro). These guys are all over Neriak (one is right outside the guild hall gates. So unless you are prepared to kill 900+ High Elf slaves, dont faction with Keeper of the Arts.

Get the ball of clay (which you still will get attacked after gettingn quest item) or have high level enchanter charm her.

In order to give her the key while invisible you must be atleast 1 faction above 'Scowls, ready to attack'. Reason being, you will appear when you will appear when you begin the trade, before the trade can be completed. At 'Threatenly' cons, I believe you have 5 secs before you get on hate list, and thus you may have another mage inviso you before you complete the trade.

There is an EXCELLENT!!! post regarding Evil Races and completing this quest under the posts for MYSTIC CLOAK. It explains what factions are needed, how the trade mechanisms function and how evil races can get this cloak -- that basically falls into the lap of good races....

(would be nice if there was an evil item that was as good or atleast fills another slot).

what is the deal with her pet. i was a 21 level paladin with an axe of the iron back. every time i would hit it i got the message that it absorbed my blows and did no damage. how do you fight it if magic weapons don't work.

she casts a spell on her pet to make that happen wears off after a minute or so...she still can charm even if she has a pet so groups beware

She is an level 25 enchanter. Being such, she casts "Rune II" on her pet, which essentially gives the pet up to an additionaly 118hp that is absorbed before the pet actually takes any damage to it's actual hps. You can get rid of it by casting strip enchantment or by simply hitting it for 118 points of damage.

My first time in Najena, I was walking around, when I fell in the pit. To my surprise her little pet started attacking me, but all of a sudden she took control me, and ran me around. I should say it was trippy, like running through all these walls, things stopping and than moving. I am inkie, and she brung me back up to the first floor. She ain't no bloody prisoner if she could do that!

There is a reason it is difficult for DE Necros to complete the quest. You shouldn't. You should be trying to kill her. I know it is a nice item, but a Kunzar Cloak isn't that much worse and doesn't cost that much. I know it would be quite a challenge to kill her since she can charm one of your party, but you are a Dark Elf. Act like one.

I was running through here with a level 37 druid and a level 50 wiz was around helping people. Somehow she got spooked, charmed the wizzy, who cast ice comet on me and killed me in one hit. Now i'm playing a level 36 druid.

heh, she once charmed me and made me nuke and kill my own pet! and I was in the low 40s if I remember correctly. luckily other people were there and they helped me finish her off as she was almost dead anyway

Was there with a 53rd level chanter as a 20th level druid. We fell into the pit, I was invis and he was in werewolf form. They agro'd on him and he mezed her. The halfilng attacked him and he took it out quick. He was meding up and meming spells when she broke mez and charmed him. He saw me because he had see invis on and got one good cast on me. He broke charm but now I was vis and she charmed me. Had me heal her then stinging swarm him. Luckly she kept having me cast swarm over and over and not careless lightning. He mezzed me and eventually took her out. I was charmed forever it seemed and ended up taking him to below half health.

When he saw the faction hits he was amazed. He had forgotten he was in Werewolf form so when they agroed on him he assumed they were very evil (since nothing else in the dungeon agroed him)--he forgot that it might be that they were good aligned. He had gone his whole carreer without taking any serious faction hits with any "good" races. Dont know the effect of the faction hit will be.

sometimes i think a GM is controlin her cause i was travelin thought najena and forgot where the hole trap was and fell in. she went loco and started hittin me.she mezzed me realy fast and then charmed me.bein a lvl 47 cleric with barley any magic ressist she controled me for 5 min. when i brok charm she did it agin but this time there where people in the zone. not good havin a 47 cleric healin and buffin her while she raped everyone she saw(good and bad). it just kinda makes you think?is she under control by a GM?

I'd heard of NPCs charming PCs and turning them against group members, but had never been victim of it, until today. Not victim actually, but my 41 SK partner got charmed by her and she sicked him on me, the guy with the wurmslayer and a fresh dose of quickness from me when he first started fighting her. Me no likey friends being used against me. :-(

See her for the second part of the Mystic Cloak Quest. Be careful of the injured halfling nearby. Oh, and if you don't want to talk to her you can just give her the key thru the bars
