Went in Castle Mistmoore yesterday night to finish that set of Ro Armor quests (had to get rid of those Ronium bars rotting in bank for ages!)...
So I can confirm the spawn time is still 45 mins for those 2, that they Harmtouch for 400 damage, and that the entire place is cake for my 57 Pal...
I could handle up to 15 mobs at a time no pb, including Sir Bronthas.
Got the 2 Black Cauldron in 3 cycles, was clearing the entire ground level in the while, seeing may be 10 Mistmoore Granit drop in the time.
Getting bored slaying greenies, i logged my drood, checked WC for the Nightfall Giant, and boom, 2 mins later, 1 A Nightfall Giant's Head in (huge) pocket!
Guess I will just go farm some sharks in Erud's and killing that Sentry Alechin in SK and i will be a proud owner of a full Ro Armor Set!
... complitely useless for me now, but my Bazaar mule paly will look so darn great in this armor, no need for a sign above!!!

Does anyone know where these spawn nowadays after Mistmoore revamp? Have been hunting the camps at Lesser Faydark for a couple of weeks now without avail.

If anyone has a spawn loc, time or PH, would be appreciated.

Ancille Cook Info
# Nov 11 2001 at 7:54 PM Rating: Decent
I am a Level 35 Paladin and they always conned yellow, so they are over 35, probably 36-38.

Spawn timer is 45 mins...no placeholders...2 spawn in the room, with up to 2 other deathly ushers etc. with them.

Out of 12 cooks (6 spawns of 2 cooks each) I finally got the 2 cauldrons, so I guess you have a 1/6 chance of getting one per kill.

Print out a map, you'll need it. Bring someone along who can invis, invis yourselves and walk straight into the servants room and you can pull the maid/butler/kitchen spawns to there, plus any gargs nearby for mistmoore granite. At one point we even traveled to the far side of the castle to kill Xicotl for Soulfire:)

Prepare to die, I died 3 times, but still got amazing exp. Ended up 6+ blues by the end of the camp. And when traveling from zone to servants room, or servants room to Xicotl, or servants room to zone, only travel in the day, undead see through regular invis and will aggro whole castle onto your group. At night you will have to fight your way from place to place because there will be a mix of undead/live everywhere and at one of them will see through regular invis or invis vs undead.

Good luck Holy Warriors!

These things are mean..best way to take them is...

There are two of them in the kitchen. They HT for 400 damage, make that two of them...you do the math. It's an easy way to loose a tank right away.

Best thing to do to break the spawn is...

Have a cleric or other healer in the party. The tank and cleric have to communicate with each other, the tank has to let the cleric know he's been HTd so the cleric can heal right away. Superior Healing should do the trick to get the tank enough hit points. Waiting on that heal can cost your team a tank, and unless there's another tank in the party you are screwed. Pally's with LoH are good as well.

On another note, enchanters shine here in MM, as they are the ones who do the crowd control. In a room like the ballroom, AoE mezz is wonderful.

On another note, MM is great exp for people levels 20-44. It's hardly ever camped, plus the loot there is wonderful. Lots of plat drops and FS drops off of mobs from levels 25 up, and there's always the named mobs who drop the nice stuff (Glyphed Ghoul, Avenging Catlaiffe, ect) I love this place :)

LVL range

The level range on these guys is off we camped em for a week straight everytime they popped they were in the range of lvl 35 to 37. to be sure we conned them everyting at start of fight. yes they are horrible Sk's that if you wanna agro have a warrior or tank class agro cause I am a wiz and first time they agroed was on me for 700 hp's combined dmg on there harmtouch(thank god i had the cleric buffs). The caulrons are no drop but as long as your faction is ok anyone can turn em in to get the mold and exp then you have to destroy mold. never shout that they dropped though we made that mystake one quick way to find yourself dead or evacing.

um why did you have to evac once you shouted that it droped?

Probably because when someone tried to come and get the cauldron, they brought a train with them.

I don't think they're 31 or 33, once recently someone pulled 2 cooks with a bunch of other ancille's to the zone, both cooks conned red to me as a 33 wizard (Yaldin, Karana Server) either my con is messed up or these things have changed in level. At least 35.
Pulling

The kitchen in my mind is THE BEST place to pull to. In my experiences if you have enough people in the room the spawn time will lengthen dramatically (ie. named mobs in Permafrost) You can be pretty safe pulling here, but pls time the spawn, or yes, you will die. We had a 43 paladin pulling for us (about 15) to the kitchen for about 5 hours and besides first breakin in, the room only repoped once. Have fun :)

Warrior, tanking outside the house, went ld.
I came back after being link dead, to a train that included this hellish cook and twelve or more of her upset patrons. She was hitting near ninety on me, even with some high ac; more than the other mobs minus those that backstab for insane amounts. She definitely was NOT a cook in her past life...er spawn :P
Cook spawn moved?
# Jul 14 2000 at 6:36 AM Rating: Decent
I have heard a rumor that sometime within the last week or two that the cooks now spawn someplace in lesser faydark as well.. Can anyone confirm this?
Cauldrons
# Jun 04 2000 at 12:13 PM Rating: Decent
The cooks spawn time is 40 minutes. They drop a cauldron about a third of the time. They are definately Shadowknights, leading immediately with harm touch, have the healer ready to heal the puller immediately.
Very tedious camp...
# Apr 04 2000 at 10:44 AM Rating: Decent
In the time it took to get _one_ cauldron, got about 30 pieces of Mistmoore Granite, 4-5 werewolf talons, several gypsy lutes (lore spread among the group members), etc. So when you think about it, getting a crafted breastplate is about 10 times easier than getting one breastplate of ro.
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 13 2000 at 9:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) seeing that a paladin looking for ro armor why would he want to get a creafted breatsplate that couldnt be used by that class
RE: Very tedious camp...
# Feb 14 2001 at 4:57 PM Rating: Decent
He is saying that getting Ro armor is much harder than getting crafted armor.
Yes, they are SK.
# Mar 20 2000 at 11:36 PM Rating: Decent
Yep, these are SKs with no armor. Usually seen wielding a 2h'er. The time between spawn is rediculously long. Best to go there once, hope they are both in, kill them and leave. They don't always drop a cauldron either.
SK's?
# Mar 01 2000 at 9:00 PM Rating: Decent
you sure they are SK's? from what ive seen they nuke way too hard for a SK, plus NPC SK's usually wear armor, and cooks run around in bikinis.

drops dark cauldrons for the Armor of Ro
breastplate quest. 2 of these earns you
a mold for the breastplate.
Spawn Rate
# Feb 29 2000 at 1:38 AM Rating: Decent
I would love to know the spawn rate also. I camped this room for about 3 hours. No cooks spawned. Tho one other critter was there on the right wall when you walk into the room. Once we dispatched that, nothing else spawned after 3 hours of waiting.
Dark Cauldrons
# Feb 27 2000 at 6:47 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone know what the spawn rate is, and if the dark cauldrons are a rare, common, or all-the-time drop?
Cooks are SK's
# Feb 26 2000 at 4:14 PM Rating: Decent
The cooks are Shadowknights and start the fight with a Harm Touch. There are 2 cooks and one random spawn in the kitchen. It's best to have someone with high hitpoints go after the cook first. Also, 2 clerics are great in here. An evac person is also nice, especially if some "farmers" are running around the music room or other nearby areas.

Another note: Don't try to cast from the hallway into the room...MAJOR train starter.
