Spirit of Kotiz  

If you win loot in this mission, stay far away from Venril as he gets close to 25%. I won a very nice aug from this mission today, and ended up not recieving it because I was dead when the mission ended. There is no final hail or check, when you get Venril down to 25% it's over. So don't be dead.

I've done this mission twice now (well most of it). After killing 50 mobs a chest pops (once with a 75HP / 85 mana aug and once with some rot loot shoulders for leather classes). Shortly after you loot chest VS spawns. He leashes if you run him off, he can kill your tank in about 8 seconds and there is no true healer on the mission...add to this he spawns yellow con adds after you damage him a bit and, if you don't kill him after he spawns his 5 adds, he CHs and you have to start over. We have spent hours trying to kill him with every strat I can think of with no luck...it's either bugged or we're missing something /shrug. Either way, horrible mission atm.

P.S. - Because we couldn't kill him we had to /leave mission in order to zone out, which means ZERO XP for 6 hrs worth of work :-(

Please see a Forgotten Noble under mobs for Trakanons Teeth. This mob is linked to him, since he mentions seeking out the Spirit of Kotiz.

This mob is a ghostly Iksar located on top of the Aquaduct system above the forest. His location is neg 1244 neg 2033 (which is where the north south and east west aquaducts cross each other).

When you hail him as already mentioned a number of Skeletons spawn around you. He roots you to the ground and silences you - in effect he makes sure you cannot gate or egress out at this point. He wants something and you had better answer him quickly.

The correct answer is Vengeance. If you tell him this he responds with:-

Spirit of Kotiz says 'Indeed, that is something I seek. Many years ago, I found myself conversing in secret with Zebuxoruk. He had offered to me his journal of war, known simply as the Unholy Book of Zebuxoruk. Inside, he had promised battle strategies and magic's unknown to the Norrath as we knew it. I had come so close..'

You say, 'so close?'

Spirit of Kotiz says 'What happened? Ahh.. Yes, I had completed the pact with Zebuxoruk. Fifty sacrifices. Fifty sacrifices is all he required for the book to be mine. I was moments from grasping the book with my own hands before that wretched Sathir showed his face. He took the book from me, struck me down and left my rotting corpse deep within that wretched place.'

You say, 'what wretched place'

Spirit of Kotiz says 'What wretched place? Kaesora, of course. Venril was his name, I believe. A young and powerful warrior-mage of the Kunzar tribe. He sought to decipher the unspeakable magic coded within Zebuxoruk's ancient book. You just may be worthy to go back and face Venril once more.'

At this point I was stumped. I tried a number of responses with no success.

At the time I wasn't in a group so this may have some bearing on it.

let me rephrase say to him

"I offer you vengeance!"

and he wont rip you a new one

IF you hail the indifferent version of the Wandering spirit near seb lake, he will port you up to the top of the ruins where you can find this guy. IF you hail the Spirit of Kotiz, he mutters somthing about saying something important and says you got 30 seconds. 5 or 6 Minions of Kotiz spawn (red to a 66), roots you and silences you so you can't talk or cast. After that 30 seconds goes...they all attack hitting for 200 to 688 with 1300 AC (no avidance mitigation AA or mod) and they hit fast. I will go get a loc later, but I sure ain't hailing him again hehe.
