Shadowy Student  

Something weird I experienced in my camping this on and off is that:

When I pull all 5 wolf spawns at once, hit riposte disc and kill all at once I cannot get the student to spawn. I killed PH's over 15 times over the course of 10 hours in one day and never saw him.

I started pacing spawns with an even amount of time in between killings and I saw him 3 times in 2 hours and got 3 augs.

No idea if this means anything or if killing all at once messes up his spawn mechanic.

I've had np getting the student to spawn...killed all wolves in area, three times at most, and pop there he is.

The problem I do have is when he pops in the room and not in the hallway. I have a hell of a time splitting the student from the wolf that always seems to aggro with it.

BTW, Keleborn, aids and student will assist each other, student and wolves will assist each other, aids and Keleborn will not assist non-named wolves.

The student dropped aug each time I killed.

The place holders for the shadowy studant are on a 20 minute respawn. The two static Aids are @ 7, maybe 8 minutes for respawn, not sure about the ones that roam. Guessing the Aids that roam are the PH's for Keleborn. I didn't take much note of how hard Keleborn, Showdy Studant and trash placeholders hit for, but my lvl85 rogue with 3100AC and just over 28K HP buffed could tank Keleborn + 2 aids fine with mostly a HoT, promised type heal and the occasional regular heal, so not that bad and killing Keleborn is about as hard as it gets for this camp. I just kept it all clear so I didn't have to worry about a full room of Aids and Keleborn once the Shadowy Studant spawned and you might as well get some exp. while waiting for the aug to drop. Also, I don't think Keleborn spawns 2 add's as I have read either here or on the section about Keleborn. I think people assumed they killed all the Aids just because the room was empty of them.....but likely, the aids clicked through the door to the raid area and was out of sight out of mind. And when they pulled Keleborn, the aids probably just clicked back into the room unseen and were agroed. I have pulled Keleborn when no aids were up ( I keep track window up on my druid at all times to see repop so I don't have to run around the room to check) and killed him 4 or 6 times without anything adding. Have also pulled Keleborn out of the room with all Aids up, split him from the Aids with my SK and killed Keleborn around the corner with no line of sight to the room and no Aids came running to him.

A warning....don't tag the Aids if they are walking towards the door to the raid areas. I did that and instead of the Aid running towards me, it clicked through the door. Shortly after, I got about 4 gargoyls and a couple other Aids pop on top of me.

Anyway, got 4 augs in about 10 hours of camping. Named spawned 8 or 9 times....yes, I had 4 or 5 rings. Forgot the aug was also equippable in range slot, gonna head back and get one more lol. Also, the zone wide aug (10ac 80 HP/End/man) seems pretty common. Got 16 of those to drop while I was doing this camp. Pretty nice bonus.

So this is my second day camping this guy trying to get the aug x5 for my 73 Pally. Yesterday camped him for 6 hours straight following another group camping for 4 hours. The group before me spawned him 3 times in 4 hours getting 2 augs 1 ring. My 6 hours he was the last mob I killed before camping. Trying again today, I've been here for another 6 hours straight with only 1 spawn. I keep all the shadowmane's dead but getting really tired of camp so been ignoring the non KOS guys. I know they assist Shadowy Student but since he not spawning for me anyway it don't really matter. The first 5 hours today I kept every mob in the room dead and the shadowmane at the dead end hallway. I'd keep them all dead but the stupid seperate spawn times they have makes it very annoying for me.

Well my luck improved finally. After a total of 17 hours I got all 5 augs and only 1 ring. 6 hours on day one and 11 hours straight on day 2. Good luck to the next person wanting the AC aug.

7 days camping this mob, up to 15 hours per day. Trying to aug my trio of SK, BL and cleric. 7 augs, 9 rings. Ring is much more common for me than the AC aug. I wish I had a use for all the glowing runes I have. Some days he never spawns, some he will spawn 4 times. I think they must have made him spawn less often reading the above posts of 5 augs in 2 or 4 hours! Boring camp. I kill the orcs, Seneschal and Keleborn between pops. Carefull of roamers, they will assist the Shadowy Student.

the trick is to pull a shadowmane past a SHADOWY STUDENT. he will add and not aggro other faction in room.

I was able to spawn this mob yesterday single-handed after breaking the camp. What was strange was that none of the Keleborn aids (nor Keleborn for that matter) assisted this named when I pulled him from the lab room. Has the social aggro been changed recently?

i have spent 4-5 hours two days in a row in keleborns room. still have not seen this mob. is he a rare spawn or am i just in wrong spot?

If you are doing the Doorman Mission to obtain access to Vule door. You are in the right place to spawn this mob.
To start this mission Hail doorman and /say Master, then follow text. GL

Anyone have a loc on this mob?
