Now, this is too funny. All those that complained that high lvl folks were stealing the mobs they needed for XP and for quests... Now that the value of the drops have been nerfed, the high lvl folks are gone. Where are the noobs?

The place is just about empty 99% of the time now! Just say it, you weren't complaining about the xp and the quests, it was all about the PP all along! Grats, now nobody can benefit. Lowbies lose most, cause high folks can farm elsewhere. :p

They really need to nerf these guys to get all the ubers out of BBM so the lowbies can level and do their armor quests. Maybe trivial loot code is needed, or make the big money quest items that they have no drop? You can turn no drop items into quest NPCs, so this seems better than trivial loot code which would exclude chars above a certain level who havent gotten all their newbie gear yet, from getting them.

They just have nerfed them in the last patch (at least they have on Antonius Bayle). You are now lucky if you get a few SP for the loot.

**I copied from my other post to help here**
The aqua goblin camps, located in Butcher block where high level characters steal newbies opportunities to level, drop many items.

To help out anyone looking for fast cash this is it, I used to enjoy taking empty bags with me and waiting my turn at the camps. I like the one near the ruined tower where the High elf buys your goodies so I could make a quick run back before I lose camp. I think the prices I got for resale were:

Aqua Goblin Backbone 1pp
Aqua Goblin Foot 2cp
Aqua Goblin Head 1pp
Aqua Goblin Headress 1pp
Aqua Goblin Tongue 2cp
Dirjadak's Chipped Stein 1pp
Vial of Aqua Goblin Blood 1pp
4 Arrows (I always keep for my warriors to pull with)

But I was helping someone hold a camp and looted a few items while I waited and when they returned I headed to Kaladam as I was headed prior. Remembering the items I looted I thought to sell them in Kaladam...I got 4 times the prices the High elf gave me all those times before! I tried again with another character in Felewithe and got 3 times the price and the Bazaar gave 4 times also. So for those wasting time with the high elf as I did, save your loot and share the camp with others as you go sell with a bigger smile than before.

I think i will move over to everfrost and hunt me some mammoths, since they give good exp and are easy to kill with a group. 10+ pp per tusk isnt bad either.

Does anyone have a clue where this picture was taken? It does not look like it is in BB since they are on a grassy area there or at least the ones I have seen there. Anyone know, I am going crazy trying to find this place. Thanks!

It looks like this picture was taken in Dagnor's Cauldron between the zone-in from Butcherblock and the entrance to Unrest.

LOL. I agree that the picture is from DC, but 'between the zone-in from Butcherblock and the entrance to Unrest' basically describes the whole zone.

I don't know how long things will stay this way, but these guys are a plat fountain right now. Their bones (usually backbone and tibia) are worth multiple platinum each. I've suddenly seen a lot more 15th - 30th level chars in Butcherblock, and they're camping the Aqua Goblin Marauders. No xp, but you can make some $$$.
If anyone "upstairs" is really paying attention to the player economy, some serious nerfing will happen soon.

Since the ones in BB are ALWAYS camped, I scouted around to try to find other aqua goblins that are equally lucrative hunting, no luck. Aqua goblins both in Ocean of Tears & Dagnor's Cauldron drop virtually nothing, usually a bow & 4 arrows. Haven't checked in Lake Rathetear yet, but I expect more of the same.

DC aqua goblins are MUCH higher in level, and in a much more difficult zone to hunt (terrain-wise) -- makes me wonder if those weren't the ones that there SUPPOSED to be the plat fountain...

If you stand at the docks, head south on the shoreline. They're right there, two seperate camps of them. I've heard they drop the Goblin Skull, a piece required for new dwarf armor.

I spend alot of time right now sitting on the rocks hunting them in the ocean of tears and they con dark blue but I'm a level 13, isn't dark blue 1-3 levels difference and they are listed as 6-8(not that I'm complaining since it means more exp and they still fall as fast)

Where are these guys in Butcherblock? I'd rather not leave Faydwer on the boat in case I die in OOT and have a long boat ride to get my corpse back. However, I need the faction, so what do you recommend?

Where to hunt Aqua Goblins?
# Nov 20 2001 at 3:29 PM Rating: Decent
Fellows,

For a 9th lvl mage by himself, is it better to hunt the aqua goblins on the rocks w/Nerbilik (near BB) or to hunt on the two spires in the middle of the zone (i.e. the islands past Cyclops island when coming from FP)?

I hunt these guys on the L-shaped island near the Alluring Sirens islands (the first group of islands you come to after leaving Butcherblock on the boat.) The faction hits are correct for them. I'm a level 11 druid, and can barely handle breaking a spawn of three of these guys if I am fully ready, porcupined and firefisted, using a dwarven mace and wearing all leather armor, solo. They pop Extremely fast after being killed. I think it must be a three minute spawn. At my current level, I cannot hold the spawn comfortably, but have to flee the island periodically to go heal and med up, swimming over to a nearby one to med. Even taking them one at a time (using the lull line) you cannot hold it, because the first one pops about thirty seconds after you kill the last one, not giving you time to recover.

They give great experience for level 10-11 because you are fighting constantly when you are there. If you want continuous action, this is the place to be.

They hit pretty fast, but I would say that giving them level 6-8 is about right, though maybe just a bit low. All still blue to me at level 11.

Friends,

As a dark elf rogue, I find my career is much advanced by not being immediately killed upon entering a city. Currently, my operations on the continent of Faydwer are fairly limited, as the dwarves and elves... well, they don't much like the look of me. I'd like to fix that - without, preferably, alienating the boys back home, which rules out hunting the orcs which inhabit Crushbone.

I note that the elves and dwarves have a quarrel with these aqua goblins, and I reason... perhaps if I kill enough of them, the palefaced ones will allow me into their cities unmolested. My question is this: does anyone know how best to go about hunting these creatures, and how much of a decrease in their population I would have to cause before the lighter races will tolerate my presence?

I just started a Dark Elf Cleric...I was forced to worship innoruk....this makes your faction even worse with the elves...but i was able to get dubious to the guards of felwithe and kelethin at lvl 10. I went to crushbone at lvl 5 because you do not alienate the guards back home....just the warrior guild and if you know how to avoid the guild you will have no problems whatsoever...but the aqua goblins would work better if you dont even want the negative warrior guild faction

Well, hard to say, but have you ever tried before to be accepted in North Freeport? To get good faction with the Knights of Truth and not lower the faction with the Freeport Militia you have to kill the Deathfist Orcs. You need to kill a lot of them... I would say up to 1000 Orcs to move at least to dubiously. Now remember that the elves really doesn't like Darkelves, that is letting me think that you need to kill A LOT of aqua goblins. Maybe 10.000... maybe more?

Have your logging turned on and let eqparse count how many aqua goblins you have killed. And please post your experience here :)

I haven't yet checked out the Aqua Goblins at the above listed places but, there are some in Dagnor's Cauldron on Faydwer. And their faction hits are different. I hope the faction hits listed above are correct because they fit the bill for what one or two of my characters need.

I spent much of Lvl 20 camping the Aqua Goblin camp in Dagnor's with some friends. The only faction hit you get for killing them is Goblin, which gets worse. Yes it's just "Goblin", not "Riptide Goblins" as listed in the description above. There are NO positive factions hits for killing them.

I've never hunted Aqua Gobbies in OOT or Lake Rathetear or Butcherblock however, so maybe the factions listed above are correct for those goblins, but I know they are NOT correct for the Dagnor's Aqua Gobbos.

What's even better is that the picture of Aqua Goblins above shows **the Aqua Goblin camp in DC** and lists their level range as 6-8! LOL! Well it probably wouldn't be quite as funny to a level 8 newbie who, relying on this site for information, decides to pay DC a visit and meets up with a level 23 Aqua Goblin Tidal Lord.

What religion are you? If you follow an evil god, evil monsters often won't be KOS to you.

Being on the boat doesn't make a difference. Monsters con the same whether you are right up in their face or conning them on the shore from the boat.

Human Monks cannot worship evil gods - the ones who start in Qeynos are agnostic and the ones who start in Freeport worship Quellious.

And being on a boat sure as heck does make a difference - the cyclops and Allizesaur in OOT both con Indifferent to me if I con from the boat - but if I'm on their island they scowl at me, ready to attack.

If, however, the boat passes right by an NPC, they will con "normally" to you, which is why the Sister at the end of the dock on Sister Isle kills human necros when they're still on the boat. I'm not sure if the difference is "melee range" or not - but unless you're close, conning from the boat always yields an "indifferent" con.

Also, if an NPC is aggroing on you and you run onto the boat, they instantly back off. Back when I was a low-level Shaman, killing wisps in Erud's Crossing for both loot and XP, this saved me more than once from overpulls.

Conning from the boat is probably the explanation of the "indifferent" con he got.
