Last night I tried the following on these mobs. I am on Corinav, which is as of this writing at Velious.

Pacify - worked on all five casts upon these mobs.
Dictate (lvl 60 charm) worked
Rapture (lvl 59 mez) worked.
Complete heal

I think it needs to be known that each of these will complete heal/heal others around them. It is very annoying. I counted 8 successful casts of complete heal before my pet and merc were able to dps one of them down.

Could not get a mez or charm to land, wasn't getting unmezable or uncharmable or too high for this spell messages they just wouldn't stick, tried like 10 times in a row to get mez to land and tried charm like 3 times before we just evacced. Was using Level 39 charm which does give a message when it's level limited and level 53 mez which also gives a message when level is too high.

There are many MoBs in game that are just so MR as to be virtually unmezable that's not to say that someone couldn't land a mez but don't count on it happening, I once tried over a dozen times in a row to charm Gullerback it actually stuck once and lasted like 5 seconds so he's not uncharmable but if you face him expecting to use charm as a tool you will not win so for practical purposes he is considered uncharmable. These are most likely the same thing, not immune to mez or charm just too MR to have these spells be effective, although kedge not being a nice juicy outdoors zone where you can use selo's it's hard to just run in simply to test it.

the code that tells you a mob is immune to a certain type of spell was never put into the old world zones but these mobs are totaly immune to mez because i couldnt even get rapture to stick after tashing them and that is supposed to be unresistable.

Camped Phinny with my guild this weekend. Killed him 6 times of the last 3 days. These guys are VERY MR but I was able to mez them with Rapture. It landed everytime.

The wizards lure line of spells was also landing on these horses.

My guild went after the corrupted seahorse for a couple of our druids (me included). We had 8-10 various classes, including a 65 Enchanter and a 56 Monk pulling (no flames, he's an excellent puller). These buggers resisted the enchanter's AoE mezz 5 TIMES!!, sent us all whirling (either it's an AoE stun or they just picked random PC's to hit with it, because I didn't even manage to get off a single heal spell before I turned into a tornado. We got wiped, to say the lease. Bring a strong raid for these babies.
Mezzable or not? Who knows these days?

Crazy thing about a lot of places these days is that MOBs that used to be unmezzable can now be knocked out by some of the spells that were released in later expansions. Or the info was inaccurate to begin with- had a guildie once tell me you needed a 58+ 'chanter to mez Hobgoblins in PoN, then watched his jaw drop when at 54 (on my 'chanter at the time) I clobbered one with Glamour of Kintaz and grinned at him :)

Was just in Kedge with my Pally and Drood and found out that these bestids do see invis characters, but not all of them see invis. Of the four that were there, only one could see me, so your best bet is to just cruise the ledge and con them before heading down. Mean critters.
See Inviz?
# Apr 08 2002 at 12:03 PM Rating: Default
Hi,

Does anyone know, for sure, if they see inviz? I mean someone who go near them with inviz and dont have problem (not someone who heard that they dont...)

Tks for answered.

Up until yesterday, I've never seen a swirlspine seahorse that saw invis. On today's Phinny raid, three out of four of them did (I was invisible, and three of them scowled at me while the fourth remained indifferent) Phinny himself always sees invis as far as I know.
They nuke too
# Apr 07 2002 at 4:16 AM Rating: Default
In addition to dispelling, whirling and so on they also cast around 500 point nuke. Got one SHeal out in a battle, then it was smite, stun, hit, hit, hit, stun...

Didn't even have time to cast Divine Aura. =P
Would this stop the healing?
# Sep 03 2001 at 4:33 PM Rating: Default
Was casting chilling embrace on one of these, and kept getting message that it was dispelled. Kept recasting, and it didn't seem to heal, just kept dispelling the dot I recast at it. Anyone else noticed this?
Stun this bugger or he Complete Heals
# May 04 2001 at 4:03 AM Rating: Default
My shield had hard work since these buggers resist magical stuns. On a raid only one CH went off so I was lucky with the timing.

You Can Mez Them
# Feb 25 2001 at 4:50 PM Rating: Default
You can mez these guys, I've done it on 2 seperate occasions. Last night puller brought four, I was able to mez one, pet broke, and I remezed. Lasted the full 72 secs, and I couldn't remez even when the ****** was Tash'd. Gist of the matter: If you do get a mez off, you better hope someone else can aggro it offa you, it dropped my *** quick when mez broke.

Unmezable or Charmable
# Feb 20 2001 at 3:38 AM Rating: Default
These bastards cannot be mezmerized or charmed in any way shape or form. The must be pulled singly because in pairs they complete heal eachother. Strategy is to pull single's and then beat on it and mana seive it until it dies.
The things they do
# Feb 04 2001 at 3:12 PM Rating: Default
They nasty buggers do many things. They like to start off by dispelling 1 or 2 spells on you, which can be Enduring Breath if its stacked first, thats a killer right there. They hit for 115+, they hit you with a stun that whirls you in place for about 3-4 seconds, and they're aggro range is pretty high, not to mention they are quite magic resitant. I know some of this info was posted in other messages, just thought I'd sum it all up for you. Take care and good hunting.
Trigger Guardian

When you kill one of these outside of Phinagel's lair, a Swirlspine guardian has a 30% chance of spawning down next to phin. :)
These Damn Fishes

These rat friggen bastages are quite magic resistant, heck, seems all resistant. Our chanters couldn't mezz them and noone but our mage could cast on-em (they hate fire it seems). Anyways, they hit as hard as 139. Spell's name is Vortex, i resisted it most but one spell that did stick on me was a knockback, which pushed me into 2 other swirlspine... as a bard, i died 8 seconds later. Don't let'em group up on ya. Nothing special loot wise it seems...
whirl till you hurl

that wirl spell is the chanter spell whirl till you hurl (not kidding) its a stun for a while spell and it works well

They summon and cast a nasty spell that says something to the effect "You begin to wirl" and stuns you.
