Gah ... allakha-spam 20 people with the same question and 2 people reply with something they didnt ask for.. I dont normally post but its amazing how many questions about this you can see daily.

K peeps here goes basics of LDoN crystal npcs.

Radiant Crystals = Good Side, Ebon = Evil Side ; Radiants are cheaper and easier to find because people hardly do the quests for the ebons.
Expect 30p~ for Radi and 40p or so or Ebon (basic prices on my server anyhow).

Remember after buying crystals to use the recall button in your inventory prior to trying to make a purchase from these vendors. (Main reason people are lost when you cant make a purchase with them, the crystals have to be in the appropriate slot in your inventory before you speak to the npc.)

You can reguardless of faction standing or being KoS make purchases from both the dark and light vendors. Easiest way for most is to just invis (yes rogues sneak/hide works just be sure it was successfull) or find a nice chanter to slap an illusion on you.

You can use one item from both sides with the same stats because, though its lore, the names are differant from good to evil. i.e. lv 43 Aug from good side and one from evil could even be put into the same piece of equipment. Easy way to cap all stats pre 60 with all augs from both sides.

Dont go broke buying crystals .. while the stats and effects can be extreamly usefull and noticeable in your mid 40s if you hold out til 60 you can get a few hundred crystals in just 2-3 hours time and save yourself 30-40k in just a few days. Getting groups for these missions is far to easy to bankrupt yourself for another +14stats.

NPCs are located in the northernmost part of Lavastorm Mountains; evil on the right side good on the left with the zone line right in between the two. Once you get into the camp you cant miss them.

LDON doesn't use crystals

DON does use crystals, Radiant and Ebon
Faction is not used by the NPC crystal merchant. Can be Max Ally or Max KOS, makes no difference. NPC can be used while invis too.

The bazaar prices are different on every server, Radiant and Ebon are equal value. People just sell them for whatever they can get.

On FV server you can buy LDON augments in bazaar and trade them in for LDON points so you can buy stuff off the NPC.

Do I need to do missions before i can buy from this guy? I bought some ebon crystals in Baz and ran over to him, the "Purchase" button never highlighted...Please help!

No, try clicking the button below the crystal count in the inventory screen.
Just need crystals to buy from NPC merchants.

On the matter of buying from this guy if Dubious or worse faction with his camp, no worries. He is non-aggro (try to nuke him and see), and sold to me at threateningly. Interestingly, the mission givers at the dark camp were dubious, and the guards threatening. Why this guy was threatening--why he was lower than the rest of the non-guard npcs--is beyond me, as it is no hindrance to his purpose.

Of course, if guards kos you, you just have to live long enough to click this guy and click purchase. Very feasible.

I was not invised when I did this. But I tried a see test just to check, and he sees. Not that it matters.

Let me get this straight. I can have good faction with norraths keepers (I can get the creator mission) and still buy from the dark reign merchant?

Are there any other quests to raise faction besides the wayfarers in LS?

The expansion is listed for 45-70. When lvl 46sk, 48shm and boxed 67 cleric tried to do some faction quests we got clobbered. The Sk and Shm are relatively twinked and the cleric is no slouch either. It was very frustrating not even being able to begin faction work, let alone missions =(
I am assuming there needs to be a certain faction lvl before missions are given (LDoN like missions), is that faction indif?

Another quick question regarding missions - Does anyone know if the missions are average lvl of grp (aka LDoN style)?

Sorry for the lack of knowledge regarding this expansion. I just got back to playing eq again and I can't seem to find any good Q&A or FAQ's anywhere.

I am KoS to the good side (Norrath's Keepers) as I chose Rallos Zek as my deity years ago. I am however dubious to the bad side (Dark Reign). Prior to the last patch I could buy items from either camp merchant, I had to invis. up the the good side merchant, but he would still sell to me. As of today, with no changes to my faction, I am not able to buy from either merchant. I can't imagine that there would be a faction position that would prevent you from buying in either camp. I'm thinking it may be a bug or they have nerfed the faction requirements.

Is it possible for a rogue, in sneak/hide mode, to buy an item from him if the rogue is normally KoS but has the ebon crystals to spend?

On E'Ci ebon crystals go for 100-150p more than radiant. Only reason not to enter the bazaar and use a /buyer person to convert them all into radiant(paying you 100pp per) is the fact you may want to dual wield some of these weapons.
