Does this quest lead up to anything else? It seems odd that you get spammed forever with the message from the minor on zoning into Lavastorm even if the quest is not something you'd be interested in doing for the reward (aka very far below your level)

Grand Clerk Plathin gives you a broken depth gauge which you ahve to take to Mip Sprocket in SteamFont at the third Windmill.
Mip Sprocket gives you a working Depth Gauge which you return to Head Minor Bilbo who then gives you the Sooty Minors Cloak

You should update this as he is a quest npc, gives out two seperate quests that combine this zone, and Ak'Anon
