easily solo'ed on Drinal
# Jan 09 2013 at 2:56 AM Rating: Decent
easily solo'ed by lvl 100 necro with max pet defensive aa's and fortify companion, lvl 97 necro pet did all the tanking w/pet focus 14 (vyer's stud). strat was simple: i loaded up 9 poison dots, a lifetap, algid mending for pet heals, call skeleton throng. pet focused on hanvar while i 1 dotted/skelly thronged the adds (max combat agility/stability so i just let 'em hit me). had to stop and occasionally heal my pet between waves. once all the adds were down i poison dotted the **** outa him and watched as he melted before my eyes.

no i am not trying to brag here. was helping a fellow necro get his 2.0 orb. anguish is a cakewalk at this point in the game for many classes and i enjoy giving back to the community.

Did this fight last night on bertox server, group makeup was as follows...

90 druid Tarkis with his 90 chanter box(although I don't think chanter entered fight, got hungup earlier and we just left her back in a hallway somewhere) both combination of hot t1 and player made gear
90 necro Ptitcriss and his 90 mage box Not sure about ptit's aa's and gear but he's pretty badass
85 necro Nekro (me) combination of hot t1 and player made gear
83 druid Roots unsure of gear/aa's but very solid player that came along for the fun of it
80 necro Zillabene (wife) combination of hot t1 and player made gear

Upon entering room, mage pet(earth) tanked warden while 90 necro, me and 80 necro took care of the 4 dragorns in his room. Druids were to keep pet alive while adds died and possibly throw out some dps if they got bored. 4 dragorns didn't last longer than about 45 seconds. We then proceeded to dps warden until next wave of adds spawned, upon which time the necros would again burn adds and go back to warden. The dragorns were very weak and after the second wave i told my wife to keep dps'ing warden as i think either the 90 necro or myself could've taken all adds withtin 30 seconds of spawning(which we did on last two waves). After all waves were dead, dps on warden, I was tired of seeing resist messages so i just continued to cast lifetap and lifetap dots, with death bloom AA wasn't even close to going oom.
Druids also threw some damage in there but whole fight lasted about 28 minutes, dropped some trash and 2 ancient runes....NO ORB!!! The *******. Looked up zone and Ture could also spawn an Orb so we went down to smoke him minus Roots.

Ture lasted about 4 minutes lmao, spawned orb...Gratz Zillabene on her epic 2.0. Did her prequest/1.5/2.0 in 2 days including her getting her smithing skill up to 100. The hardest fight during this entire debacle was the 5 werewolves during the prequest that are immune to melee and VERY resistant....the hardest drop was the hinge in plane of innovation, i cleared that junkyard area 5 times before drop.

2 Boxed (90/6k mag & 87/1k clr). Pet tanked Hanvar (mag healing) and mag tanked adds (clr healing) during add phase. Didn't bother DPS'ing hanvar until the waves were dead, as he would regen back while mage was focusing on adds.

After adds were dead cleric swapped spellsets and tanked hanvar while mage went full dps (gargs on hanvar + shadowflares on cleric). Add phase took ~20min and then burn lasted about 10min. Mage finished up about 10m and cleric was nearly fom. Both chars are pretty gimp (neither have done any HoT progression; mage 40k cleric 30k mana unbuffed).

Is that possible to bring along my Merc to this zone?

Also, is Warden Hanvar possible to be killed by 4 Players + 4 Merc?

85 War(Player) + 85 Pally (Player) + 85 monk (Player) + 80 Enchanter (Player) + 4 (Merc either healer type or additional tank)?

Thanks!

No mercs can enter a "raid zone". Sony wants us peeps that know how to play to carry along idiots because they dont know how to play; the only way they know how to play is leech off good players. You'll see them spaming in general blah blah LFG. Its possible now for a well geared player + their merc to "duo" PoP gods. I do it all the time when I get bored.
Good Luck

Mercs cannot be brought into this zone, it is a raid instance. At this time, mercs are not permitted into raids.

Last night, to help a 71 SK get his 2.0 orb, we took him down with 8 toons. The makeup was:

85 SK
85 Ranja (botted by the SK)
81 Cle (botted by the SK)
85 Druid
82 War
71 SK
78 Bst
83 Shm (me)

The best thing to do is have the MT aggro Hanvar, have a healer on him, and everyone else on the adds. Kill the adds (will be 4 waves of 4). When all 16 are down, there is nothing left but Hanvar. Easy enough to kill, if you have the time. Took us about 30 mins. Poison based spells land about 90% of the time, magic and disease are almost always resisted, I didn't try fire and ice, so not sure. He is slowable, but that is a hard one to accomplish. We used to have the bards lower his resists along with every other debuff, but since we didn't have that last night, he didn't get slowed...lol

Was a real fun fight, but he has a TON of hp, so be prepared for a long fight.

Just downed Warden... Vet AA helps a BUNCH... just watch that ya dont out-aggro MT :-P

... addin something else, resists were all at 560, nothing too special, so yeah.

Killed this last night with 1 group last night, group setup was SK, cleric, shaman, zerker, monk, monk. SK is mostly solt geared with some MMM gear the cleric and zerker are mainly solt geared and the monks are mainly geared in group stuff. SK tanked hanvar while the dps kept killing the adds till they were all dead then just dps'd hanvar till it died. The entire fight took about 67 mins.
Dead on Nameless
# Jan 19 2008 at 10:43 PM Rating: Decent
Killed with 12 on Nameless. Two small family guilds of the Sigils and Ridgerunners and our first attempt, all moderately SoF-geared and with cultural gear. 2 80 Paladins, 80 druid, 80 wizard, 80 magician, 80 bard, 80 shaman, 80 beastlord, 74 necromancer, 80 magician, 80 enchanter, and 78 warrior. Flawless first attempt. We couldn't damage him enough before the next wave, so we just kept him tanked.

Made an attempt at this mob with several guildies plus a few invited people (20+ in total with 2.0s) yesterday.

This event seems to be bugged at the moment because Hanvar CAN NOT get injured in ANY way at all. After we killed off the first wave of his adds, our dps started to get to work on Hanvar himself, but noticed his hp wouldn't go down below 99%, even though we had casters chain nuking and melee dps discing him. I started doubting if we had enough dps for this event, but then remembered that we completed this encounter with only two groups in the past with the same guildies.

The second wave of adds came. Rinse, repeat, tanked, and dps beat up on Hanvar. Still the same result. His hp wouldn't go below 99%, this time with wizzies mana burning, rogues burning their backstab discs, zerkers discing, ranjas throwing their shoes at it, etc.. I was really getting annoyed as heck at this point and really really wanted Hanvar dead.

Time passed, we killed the final wave of adds, had my hair turn gray, and even killed some repops in the hallway, Hanvar's still at 99% hp. So after twenty+ minutes of beating up on him (he's still at 100% at this point), our melee dps's arms became tired and our nukers had like negative mana, we just decided to tl the raid to their bind points with several raidees extremely peeved off.

So has anyone else had this problem after the small patch on sunday or am I just crazy?

Maybe he was bugged for you, but maybe also, one of the original 5 dragorns didnt die? I dont know where you fought him, but I think that if you dont kill all the first 5 adds, you may not be able to damage him. When we kill hanvar, we pull him out his room, down the hall, to a corner. and if you did this also, and one of the adds didnt come, or fell through the world, then i can imagine hanvar being undamaged. just a thought.

or maybe it was temporarily bugged. since your post we have killed him a few times. most recently on 7/5/08. not bugged then.

ROFL he's easy.

Just just have to kill all 4 waves

once you kill all 4 waves then his hp will go down

Discing and mana burning prior to wave 4 being complete is a waste of time.

LOL can't believe you failed on this mob.

now ture i can understand he's just irritating.

You must not pay attention during Anguish raids because his hp can be taken down 25% for each wave of adds that are killed, so I have no idea what you mean by "once you kill all 4 waves his hp will go down". And your comment about Ture being harder than this mob takes the "WTF" cake.

Like I said early in my earlier post, the event MAY HAVE BEEN BUGGED at that time because there were several patches issued during that week for reported game issues.

Learn to pay attention and learn to read, sir.

Ramp Tank Pull
# Aug 07 2007 at 1:28 PM Rating: Decent
Okay, don't try to pull his adds out with a monk or a bard at the beginning. Get everyone ready in the corner on the way there, with the healers behind the wall, etc. But have a paladin (hopefully one with the DA Hammer) shoot Hanvar with an arrow, immediately cast DA, and run it to the MT. The adds will come, and the offtanks can pick them up. Hanvar has single target rampage, so this is why a paladin should pull him. As for single target rampage, he hits about 2500 max. Not too bad.
There really isn't a need to "pre-target" adds. A waste of time in my opinion.
2.0 orb
# Sep 02 2007 at 5:54 PM Rating: Decent
infact, he does not drop a 2.0 orb by himself. you must do another event as well. did coa today with 11 people to get one of our wizards an orb, killed hanvar, got loot from him, but no orb spawned. we went back, did ture, and went back to hanvar area, and the orb had spawned.

edit- there is a completely seperate lockout timer for the orb. its called "upper disordant orb." you must kill all three lower mobs(hanvar, ture, keldovian) for the orb to spawn. also, it doesnt spawn at hanvar if you do hanvar first, then keldovian, then ture. it spawns on the last boss required to complete the triumverate of mobs.

2.0 orb
# May 19 2008 at 9:23 AM Rating: Decent
This is partially wrong, the orb is linked to Ture and Hanvar, Kill Hanvar first, Orb spawns after Ture fight, Kill Ture first orb spawns after Hanvar fight. You do not have to touch Keldovan to get this orb. Just Hanvar and Ture.

1) Prep, buff, etc, away from the entrance to Hanvar's Room.
2) Send in rogue or monk to aid 5 knights in pre-targeting the 5 adds.
3) Main tank targets Hanvar.
4) Tanks rush room and engage. Knights off-tank adds while main tank pulls Hanvar to corner to Hanvar rear-left. Slow/Cripple/debuff etc. Hanvar.
5) Main-Tank Healers run to the far left rear "cell" in the event area to keep a wall between them and Hanvar. They will heal from there.
6) A main DPSer will be calling assist on each of the adds until they are all dead. It's best to focus all DPS on one add at a time instead of splitting the raid into 5 sub-raids.
7) Once all 5 adds are dead, move the DPS to Hanvar.
8) 5 more adds will spawn at 75% and 50% so have the knights ready to pick them up. They will spawn at the same spots in which they were first engaged and in the order in which they were killed. Either 3 or 4 will spawn when Hanvar gets down to 25%.

Note: Hanvar stops taking damage at 75%, 50%, and 25% until all the adds are dead so there's no need to burn him down until the final 20%.

Summary:

Buff away from hanvar.
Pretarget adds.
Engage and get to your places. Debuff Hanvar.
DPS to add1
DPS to add2
DPS to add3
DPS to add4
DPS to add5
DPS to Hanvar

Repeat the steps in bold as needed.

To start event you pull the adds in his room out useing a monk or bard? Then I hear there is like 4 waves of mobs that "spawn" 1 at a time. Where should Warden be tanked and where do the adds "spawn" at? How is the healing effected with his spell that Warden cast? How many clerics in CH chain do you use will rest of the raid kills adds? Thank You for any help in advance.

normally it doesnt matter where you tank him, sometimes you tank him in the north east corner of his room, or sometimes if you like you can pull him out of his room, and pull him back to right above the stairs where you can tank him there. The biggest problem that kills guilds that are new to anguish/hanvar is the adds aggro healers and casters. They Spawn every 25%. Easiest way is to just tank him outside of his room, and keep mayb your 3 best dps on him at all times. Then Once adds spawn, keep the rest of the raid on his adds. Make sure that all in the raid assist on the same mob, instead of each going to their own mob.

hope it helps

first you need to split the adds away from hanvar fight him at one end and the adds at the other end, you have a Hanvar group and add killing group. make sure no one from add killing group gets Hanvar hate list and add groups won't get AE'd. once adds are dead Hanvar will start taking damage then all on him... hope this helps
Ouch, tougher!
# Nov 09 2005 at 11:40 PM Rating: Decent
My guild recently broke into Anguish and I have to say is 'this event is now tough' Do the adds ever stop spawning? Do we ever put our dps on hanvar? After killing 30 or so adds, we were just depleted of all mana, tanks, and well at that point everyone else! Hopefully we'll find out soon enough. I wish we could fight the one with wimpy dps!!
