Just 2 boxed Tarlang
85 mage ( 644 + 2 AA )
82 Shammy ( 224 AA )
for my 66 Necro friend ( 14 AA )

Fight started out like this.
Had mage pet parked behind Tarlang before hailing. Friend did his hail and quickly sent my pet in. Shammy and Necro pet hitting his back.
Did Mage and Shammy swarm, he was somewhat resistant to DD spells from mage but after 2-3 tries was finally slowed
Fight took maybe 5-7 minutes. He had about 813k hp.

Gratz Deddmaynn on your 1.5!

Tried to solo him today with a Tier 4 Merc Cleric just for fun. Got him to about 79% before I gave up. Cleric was already out of mana and my second pet died.

I'm level 85 with 3k AC and he hit me for a max of 3048 and there were a lot of hits for 768. Not many hits above 2k at all. Landing spells was rough. Lifetaps landed well along with the Splart line of spells. He resisted fire, disease and poison almost every time I tried.

If I could have gotten my dots stacked on him I could have taken him easy. I've tanked tougher mobs.

Oh well, just thought I'd share.
Just duo'd

Killed this guy with an 80 shm, 80 monk and 80 necro. He was slowable after casting malo and he did blind the monk throughout the fight.

Tarlang parsed out to 813k hp and dished out 540 dps against the monk.

Just killed this mob tonight. Make note of most info here. Remember that the "follow left path" info is from draniks. If you come through guild portal those directions don't work. Mob is marked on map from mapfiend. Had 21 players ranging from 65-80. Easy fight except for that blind. Killed every mob from start of tunnel till Tarlang to avoid adds. Blind killed almost all of our raid fighters' sight. Also had to be very careful about pushing him up on the wall. Station tank between him and the wall as soon as possible because blind will kill efforts to get him down shortly into fight.

Tarlang now casts 'Blinding Fear' a Targeted AE, .50 sec stun, blindness, unresistable. There are two versions in Lucy, one is 15 range, one is 30. I'm not sure which it was.

Ranged dps is now the way to go.

The AE needs to be added to Tarlang's as well.

I raided Tarlang 4 differant times so far. The last time was today with 24 mostly anguish flagged people. I would say that 15 were anguish flagged, 5 were boxed alts, and 4 were unknowns (probably not anguish flagged - they were just along to help out their necro friend). We killed him easily. We killed him easily with 36 the time before that when we were pre-Tacvi but mostly GoD/Time geared. However, it seemed like we had trouble with 42 when I was in a preTime guild.

This can be a very quick fight. There are see-invis mobs on the way to him so someone is bound to get killed on the way if you just meet there at Tarlang. A mage CotH is great or you can clear your way to him. When it comes right down to it, there is only one mob you have to clear before the fight: that is Ridgerunner Droongar or his placeholder. Named and PH are both roamers so will add to the fight if they aren't cleared. Respawn time on them is between 19 and 20 minutes and they will spawn anywhere on that ledge that Tarlang is on.

A note to the necro that is doing this epic fight: make sure all your preflagging is fresh. I had all my preflagging out of the way long before this fight but it reset somehow and I had to go back to Natimbi while raid waited on me and redo the preflag conversation. Embarrassing. Good luck.

we did him recently with a tank pushing 13k and a good few clerics with a raid force of around 60 pre-elemental... parsed about 900 dps on the tank and fight took just over 3 minutes

definitely not gimp, but not impossible either if you have a decent force

Yeah ... go back to Rydda Dar with a 15k tank and see how bad he is. Honestly, don't post this kind of crap.

This guy is fairly tough for a legitimately EP tank as he can hit for 3k+, but he's not all that bad considering. Bring several clerics and a few tanks. If some is or is boxing a 15k tank, it makes this encounter a lot easier.

It's all about the ac.
The mob really is pretty easy with 2500+ ac.
A tank with 2900 ac didn't take many hits if any above 2400.

Was running out to Tarlang just to make sure he was where he should be and Drarakon the Mad was on the path walking around. Sees through invis and double hit me for 2541 so needless to say, I didn't make it. It was 4am game time when I ran into him. Not sure if he's always up then or if that's the only time he's up. From the posts on him, he's on a spawn/despawn timer, maybe fixed. Nevertheless, if you see him, go around...:)

mkay here's some info on this mob

absolute max hit 3200
HP around 500K - 600K
partially slowable so about 30%

The best spot to fight him is where he spawns, get the casters and ranged DPS ontop of the wall by where you came in, on the left side. Up there the AOE will rarely land, you can also stand on the wall but it's a lot more awqward.

We dropped this guy twice last night for myself and another necro.
My guild is basically just starting EPs, so mainly VT geared, and we had 35ish folks there, a lot of them bots.
I was MTing also playing a 15k warrior. Anyway, this guy might quad and hit for up to 3120, but he never hit me that hard. The RT was an 11K SK. Yea it was a good tank I was playing, but he is a really gimp mob regardless. Reading all this stuff here had me wondering if we could do it.

I guess what I am saying is don't be intimidated by this gimp mob. The mob was at 20% when defensive wore off, and I just kept tanking him rather than switch out tanks. I even managed to live through eating enrage :) Rydda Dar's melee is far worse than this guys and his AE will never land if you have good PR.

Good luck Necros!

Chaos Claws can be cured with 2 casts of counteract poison, not sure if abolish poison will do it in 1 shot, or the effectiveness of higher levels of poison cures though.
only partially slowable now

Fought and defeted Tarlang last night three times last night on Morrel Thule (Thanks LoV!) With between 21 and 24 people. The final tally was Us 3, Tarlang 6.

Tarlang is no longer fully slowable. The smoothest fight we had is when we had 2 Time/GoD equiped warriors. Because of Tarlang's excessive amount of hps he was around 50% when the first warriors defensive discipline dropped. Your milage may vary, depending on what type of DPS you bring with you, on how far you can get him down before it is a good idea to swap out your tank.

His Rampage is single target not AE thank the gods! and he does hit as hard as advertised.

If you fail to kill him he will stand where he killed the last person, ie probably camping the raids corpses, until he despawns. So to hurry the rezzing up it is best if he is pulled away from the corpses since he likes to stand around for quite a while before despawning.

If he despawns, the necro will need to go back to Natimbi and say "what power" to the ghost again, or the Dark Blue Tarlang version won't respond. But if you can get raid back up before he despawns all is good.

Another important note, Tarlang does not see invis.

Thanks again to Legion of Valhalla (Morrel Thule)for doing the grunt work and killing the beast and Tinau and Naly for organizing the event

1. Is Tarlang still "fully" slowable since the patch that made all OOW mobs only part slowable?

2. what does his AE do exactly ?

3. is his Rampage AE or single target?

please post any info please, this is my final fight and dont wanna go in unprepared.

This mob spawns when you do the hand in for the necro epic 1.5, not 2.0 as stated.
This mob is level 73 not 75.
He is a Kyv Heartpiercer Model..nothing spectacular. He has some PR AE spell wtih -150 resist check, as long as you have 320 and over PR you will be fine
hits for almost 4K, although fully slowable.
4 Cleric CH chain works fine, 5 clerics if your tank is not 11K+ raid buffed
Lots of hps - is a 10 minute fight with 4 groups of time/GoD equipped peeps
Does rampage but nothing to worry about just have spot healers in groups to heal people who take hits
Lots and lots of DPS...go
