when oow first came out, you infact could zone in to CoA with just trials done, but similar to uqua effect, if you didnt have the sigs you would be killed instantly from the ae. got changed about a month later though
So I noticed all the posts about people getting PHer after PHer for hours and then there were a few posts about people getting a Shrewd Dragorn on the second spawn. Which is how I got mine the first time. So last night with my brother and a friend, we would repeatedly get a new mission if the 2nd spawn was a PHer. After the second time getting a new mission, a Shrewd Dragorn spawned after clearing the PHer once. So we killed it and got another mission. After clearing the PHer once again, a Shrewd Dragorn spawned. Then about an hour later, once again a Shrewd Dragorn spawned after clearing the PHer once. May just be a coincidence but it seemed to be an efficient way of doing it. Something to note: we would only do the Watering Hole mission. Hope this helps.
After camping this a while, I read your post and gave it a try. Out of 6 expeditions, 4 of them popped the shrewd dragorn after killing the ph the first time. Saved a lot of time, thanks.
This may just be a coincidence, but after camping him on 3 different occaisions, I suggested killing the rat in the bat room and the rat PH where he spawns. Each time he was the very next spawn. Last night did him with an 75sk and a 74 ranger (me). We had one afk member in group to get the mission. Very easy kill. Hope this helps someone else. Bring
I've found that each version of the instance has a different MoB as PH to the shrewd dragorn. That's why you couldn't find the Watering Hole PH in the Murkglider Instance.
THe Fire Pits PH is a Dragorn Peon, maybe the PH for Murkglider version is a murkglider or a noc.
Hey all. Did this one today. I spent three hours this morning with nothing but the "blighted cave rat" spawning. Had seven of them. Then I went back there tonight with "blighted cave rat" there. First respawn in 20 minutes was the "Shrewd Dragorn". Next one was the blighted cave rat. I did the watering hole instance and it is almost to the end. See previous posts as they are accurate.
Also, I originally got this instance with my 56 mage with 75 warrior and 75 cleric in group. However, when I arrived at the spot no PH. Redid it with the 75 warrior requesting the instance and voila he was there. Previous posts are accurate and a higher level is required to spawn the PH.
Fight was not difficult with higher level toons. Mob was dark blue to 75. Everything else was light blue.

I tried well over 50 instances in all three types of instances (Murk, Fire, Water).
Never spawned on new instance.
Finally I just chose water, killed rat PH and he spawned in 19mins.
Sewers and Catacombs CAN still spawn sig mob on new instance though. (2/8/07)
Should also note that all three instance sig named can be soloed by a determined necromancer. DH was the hardest of the three, then Sewers was the second hardest, then Catacombs was the easiest (once you wait for the 2 pathing adds to leave area)

Just got here with a 75clr, 72sk, 75shm, 75nec (me).
1) killed a blighted cave rat (PH). 2) a Shrewd Dragorn spawns. drops sig. >SK looted sig, waiting now for repops for shm to get one then me. 3) killed a blighted cave rat (PH). 4) killed a blighted cave rat (PH). >Clr and Sk leave, me and shm duo. 5) killed a blighted cave rat (PH). 6) killed a blighted cave rat (PH).
mob went down incredibly fast, this guy is a joke. AEs brought me down to 90% health without healing or tapping, i dont think SK ever got healed. shaman came back from afk about 80%, mob was down in about 60 seconds. Can duo this guy probably, trio definitely, 4+ nothing to worry about.
BTW, he is snareable, yet he summons.

Can confirm he does spawn in the instance :Watering Hole. PH is a Blighted cave rat, same as the others. LOC is p120 p1020, he is at the end of the tunnel leading into the last 4 way intersection on the map.
A Blighted cave rat is the PH. The Ph spawns next to a murkglider near the big pool in one of the rooms towards the middle of the zone. 20 min spawn timer. Got the dragorn after about 6 PHs. Summons and max hit at 788. Hit pretty fast and had a few spells he casted on me 2 LvL 75 Necros dropped him fairly eaisly.------------------------Bosephus!
EDIT-Came out of Murkglider Hive Instance out of Dranik Scar. LvL 70+ mission had one guy join grp for mission then he logged for the night so just me and other necro.

Note: A Shrewd Dragorn will ONLY spawn in the instance when someone who is lvl 70 gets the mission. In the Fire Pit instance, the room that spawns the shrewd dragorn (-863, +4828) will have 5 spawns in it. Any other level instance will only have 4 spawns and the shrewd dragorn will NOT spawn.
Not true. I got the mission at level 68 no problem. Got 2 sig's after killing about 4 or 5 PHs. Named spawned twice in a row. All others in group were over 70, so they couldn't get mission, as it appears to be bugged when over 70 and attempting to get the mission. Your spawn info is accurate for the Fire Pit Instance. But the /loc was where you pulled the mob to, and killed it. It spawns inside the last room before the elbow room near the far side from the ZI (think someone posted that earlier, so it is confirmed). There are 5 static spawns in that room, and the PH/named is on the East side of the room.
I 2 boxed this last night as a 75pali and a 62clr in the Murkglider Hive. I borrowed a guildie who was doing TS in pok to get instance and took mission with the cleric to make the mission easier. All mobs conned light blue to 62 and I simply pulled entire rooms at a time with pali, parked the clr out of the way and let WoT do its work. I cleaned entire zone from end to end, then settled down to camp pool room. The rat Ph was never up (was a murk in his place) and after innumerable repops I gave up and retook mission with pali.
I found it not feasable to invis past every thing since all mobs run at low health and had the bad habit of running over cleric right as root would land. Also, the undead rooms seemed to always have 1 live static mob preventing making a switch from invis to IvU. PH rat was in proper spot (there is 2 rats in pool room when PH is up) and named poped after 1 round.
I killed named down side tunnel and it droped a worthless caster foot item.
This spot was much easier to get to than the one in Murkglider Hive, because there's no horrible mix of living and undead mobs. (Everything seemed to be live).

Confirmed /loc +100, +1025 as reported. A blighted rat PH, one dragorn roamer in hallway. Invis to camp. park + kill. Got a Shrewd Dragorn after 3 PHs.
Where does he spawn in Fire Pit instance? Someone said a dragorn peon was his ph, but there's a ton of those. Can someone give me a loc please if they have one?

All the signet mobs are pretty easy. If you are trying to get into anguish, you probably have enough gear to duo or Trio any of them. I saw a 70 warrior duo the one in Wos with only his bot cleric.
This mob seems to be the worst with the AE's, but they don't seem to land often with decent resists.

Ieglawen Druid and 2415 trade skiller "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy crap....what a ride!"
The sigs ARE for access. That "zonewide AE" stuff is just back story to justify making you collect them. If you don't have signets, you don't get in. The raid trials are optional--you can be gimped in if you don't have them--but even gimps must have all of their signets or it simply won't let you zone in.
The two-toned signet is part of a quest. It results in an item that protects you from the zonewide AE in the Citadel of Anguish like the one in Uqua that encumbers you so you cannot move. All of the mobs that drop parts for it are easily killed with a group. The good thing about this is that unlike the Uqua item this is not a no rent item and can be reused...bad news is you can't get everyone one of them during a raid. To spawn him clear the room outside of Silentpaws cave and the Inky murkglider area...there are mounds with water in them in this room and it stands out from every other area in the zone so you shouldnt miss it...he is across to the right if you are facing from Silentpaw's tunnel past the large pool in the middle and yes blighted rat is his PH and he will spawn repeatedly for the rest of the time you are there farming runes...that or just a key to locked zones in OOW :P along with the drop off dragorn champion in WoS
There is NO Zonewide AE in Anguish. The signet quest is strictly Lore. If you didn't do the signets, you simply CAN NOT zone in. 85'd or with Raid Trials.
Umm...there IS a zonewide AE..and you DO have to have these to be immune to it. Its half of CoA access. The other half is the 6 raid mpg trials OR getting gimped in and looting the gimp key in CoA.
No there isn't. If you don't have the signets, it simply will not let you zone in. There is NO zonewide AE, it is there purely spoken of for LORE purposes, as previously said.

Taromani smirks and continues, 'The reason no one challenged the overlord was because his realm was fatal to all but a select few. The forces of chaos magic present there would tear most beings to shreds. Only with the proper protection could a mortal hope to enter the citadel of Anguish and survive the experience. It was the ultimate defense against invasion. However, there was a [flaw] in the overlord's plans.'
Once you turn in the full Insingia case:
You receive a character flag: You are now protected from the chaos magic in Mata Muram's citadel.
The zonewide AE is not just lore. Anyone saying that it is is just attempting to decieve.
I think that's semantics. From everything I've seen:
You can be vFlagged in without trials.
You can NOT be vflagged in without signets. You have to have them.
If signets block the AE, then -no one- will ever see the AE, since you can't get in without them.
In other words, you have to have signets, and whether you have them or not, you will never get the zonewide AE... but if you don't have them, you won't get into the zone, either, so you can't prove it one way or the other.
I doubt that Sony made a bunch of AEing mobs that will never have a target, so.... I doubt the AE really exists.
had 8 pop on top of each other today, single pulled about 7, they kept spawning. every one droped a signet ring, and one dropped a +4 agi aug as well. nothing else off him but 1 gem. was yellow con to 69 every time.
ya right... First of all he dosent drop and augs, only the signet. Second If there were 8 pops and continuing i doubt you coulda killed them all without some serious raid groups scince his level is 70 and has some nasty procs. ...This is definitly improbable

1. All mobs in Omens of War have a chance to drop the aug he is talking about. I have even seen them from the trash mobs in DS. It's used in tradeskills to make better augs.
2. You cannot even bring a raid in here, it is a group only instance. 6 people max.
3. I have 3 boxed this room and him as well with 1 level 70 cleric, 1 level 70 shaman and a lower level enchanter I was power leveling. He is a wuss. Of course, my cleric and my friend's shaman are pretty decent geared and have a lot of AA's.
By the way, he was no longer chain spawning when I did this. :( I went the whole first 6 hours with no pop. Had to get a new instance and do it again before he finally showed.
this guy popped in murkgliders hive. Had too many adds around him to single him.So never got to see what he dropped.By the time we cleared adds we got repops over and over.So gave up lol.Sounds like he was not worth the effort from these posts anyway.we were 66 cleric 66 ranger 68 bard 67 sk and 67 shammy.Sk was boxin shammy
This guy drops a two toned signet. Has no stats, and is lore, no drop. Has all/all on race class, and I didn't notice if it fits a slot. He drops it every time, and drops nothing else (edit: with more runs of this guy, I can add that he drops gems, and has ONCE dropped an augment). By the time we were done, every member of our group had one, and several rotted.
