He is not trackable. Take a left from entrance. he is right before the first big crossraods. He will not attack until unless someone attacks him so watch your raid and make sure no one is using AOEs or the tanks do no go near him or target him by accident during clearing trash.
We are a casual, family guild who raids one to two times a week at most. Most our people are not even what would be considered elemental or VT geared. (Below that hehe) Took about four groups in the do clockwork dragon and found him up. We did wipe due to early agro (bad curious tanks!)
First time we really tried him, 10kHP warrior tank went down like a rock and never got any discs off. 13k HP Pally stepped in and him and 10K HP SK ping ponged agro. One by one tanks went down due to healers being blinded until mob was at 3% and my charmed pet was tanking. Once pet died, I was literally kiting him, runing, being summoned, hit, healed by a 54 cleric who somehow was still alive and being dotted by the only other live person a 70 nero. We all died at mob being 1%, talk about frustrating.
Second time we set up a bit better. Healers parked themselves right next to the tanks and set up one cleric CHing and others spamming small heals mapped to keys. So if they were blinded all anyone ahd to do was sit and spam thier key. Had three clerics doing this. Druids set up nearby also with keys mapped, alternating small heals, dots and nukes. (We make good use of our druids) Asoorted young melee were left to do what they could. Rest sat back on oposite side of the small area. Most can cast or sue low extended range items to cast from outside the AOE area.
rampage tank did die at some point but as the SA was in the same group, healers had no trouble switching. Chanters had no pets and were reasy to charm any adds as we stayed well outside the AOE range and nuked.
Rampages, enrages and the AOE blind is UNRESISTABLE (we had resists at 500 due to infusion and a bard) Shammy could not slow and neither could I as an enchanter, however with decent healing power we could keep up a 10k HP tank easily. Fight took about 5 minutes probably less. it was not quick but not long enough mana should be a real issue for any decent size raid force. Probably has couple 100k Hitpoints. Dropped some decent gear in the chest. Between that and the dragon we had a couple of happy guildies that night!
Just killed him with two groups, give or take a couple people, on Povar. I don't know how we did it, considering there were only three Clerics, but somehow we held up enough, and only had one death. Took about twenty minutes. Was enough time for the yard trash around Greasy to start popping around the time he got under 10% health, so have Enchanters ready if you've got less than three groups and don't have rad DPS.
We had: 70ENC 62NEC (me) 56CLR 70CLR 70PAL 67CLR 67SHM 67MNK 51RNG 68NEC 56NEC Possibly a couple more.

Is this mob trackable? and if it is, does it have a PH? i've been hanging around PoI for a few days now with my bard trying to track this guy, but i never see him up.
According to the description accompanying the epic quest on this site, he is untrackable. You go into PoI, turn left, then turn left again at the intersection. If he's up, you can't miss him.

I know why I can't get any Gallantry! It's just because I'm a Dark Elf, isn't it? Yeah, I see how you all are! "No buffs for the Inkies," right? "Dark Elves are all evil!" "Dark Elves smell funny!" Well, we do not smell funny! I've smelled Dark Elves all my life and it's nothing to laugh at!
I just wanted to warn people that are doing the Nitrams Collection quest to get the factory flag from killing Xanamech. This epic 1.5 mob is along the way to Xanamech and you need to let your puller know this.
We had the unfortunate happen on the last attempt with my guild on our way to Xanamech. Came into the clearing with the gnome leading the way and during the mezz of the gnome, to take out the mobs he aggroed, we somehow got the attention of this Greasy Clockwork and I knew we were in big trouble. We managed to get him to about 85% before we all went down, not fun if you are not there after him.
So please be warned that if you are makeing your way to Xanamech you will go right past this mob. I dont know if we aggrod him, if he is aggro everyone or if he responded to the gnomes presence in the area, but damn it was a hella battle. Lost our quest mob, the gnome, since we all died and I am guessing the gnome lost mezz and just walked to his demise, oh well. Next time we will stay far away from this mob. I read that you can memblur this mob if you do happen to aggro him, will try that when we go back to redo this quest.
Killed him tonight on Erollisi Marr. After he died a chest popped and in it was:
Anciant Champion's Belt MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM ATTUNEABLE AC:18 DEX:+15 STA:+15 CHA:+13 WIS:+12 INT:+12 HP:1+15 MANA:+90 SV FIRE:+17 SV DIS:+10 SV COLD:+18 Attack +10 Required level of 60 WT: 0.7 Size:Small Class:PAL RNG SHD BRD BST Race:ALL Slot 1, type 7 ---------------------------------- Made one of our SKs very happy. Also got the oil off the mob. 8)
I believe, not possitive tho, that no matter what, the mob will spawn a chest, but killing the mob before you're at that point in the quest is useless due to the fact that it wont let you loot.
He is a left from the entrance and left at first intersection. Just on the right. Hits 1900 Max and AE Ramps almost every round. Very MR but at least partially slowable and Lure line spells from wizzy werent landing for full damage. Watch for adds and wanderers. Regens slowly. If tank falls memblur him and he should gain about 3-5% back by the time you get tank rezzed and re buffed.

We took him tonight on Xegony. About a 6 min fight with 8 people (cleric, bard, warrior, shaman, chanterX2, pally, monk.) No chest spawned after chanter looted the piece. Is this mob supposed to spawn a chest after chanter loots? Chanter had all prereqs done up to this kill.
My understanding is that the Enchanter only needs to loot the Glimmering Oil. The chest will drop after killing and looting the All-Seeing Eye off of the "All-Seeing Eye" mob in Plane of Mischief. This is the "Eye of Bristlebane" that is mentioned in the epic instruction book. A good forum discussing Enchanter Epic 1.5 is at TheRunes.Net.
Legerdemain took this guy out today for fun. The epic piece was not able to be looted. Message recieved was: "You are not allowed to loot the item: Glimmering Oil" Were assuming it due to not having the proper pre-flags.
