75 Mage, 300 aa. (mostly bazaar geared dont know mana.) 80 Ranger, 900 aa. Max defensive and a high amount of melee/dps aa. (22k hp 3k ac) 79 Shaman, 350 aa. Bazzar geared. 11k mana.(box) 73 druid. 150 aa. Mostly bazaar geared.(box)
Pulled him to zone in, started with weaponshield. started chaining balance of discord after I maloed and crippled. Druid was throwing patch heals, and doing nothing else the whole fight. Kept reslowing as it wore off. Managed to throw some HoTs here and there and some cougars on the ranger/pet. Fast lasted at least a good 8 minutes...not as long as the Ancient Megaladon took with just shaman/ranger.
Druid went oom around 20% and shaman took over heals at this point - ended the fight around 15m or so.
It took FOREVER, but we just duo'd this with a 79 Mage (500 AAs) and 79 Shaman (450 AAs). Mage and Shaman have mixed gear of Anguish equivalent, some DSK equivalent gear. 76 Air pet summoned with Spire Servant, used mostly 75 or lower magic nukes and pet heals, so that I could trigger Gift of Radiant Mana for the 75 Rampage pet. Hit pet with Grounded Stance rk2 before the fight, and as it became available again throughout the fight. Kept 1.5 clicky on the pet through the entire fight.
Shaman opened with the dog, Malis, followed by Malosinatia and AA slow, which took several tries to land, but did eventually take. Refreshed slow as it wore off. Kept HoTs on the Air pet pretty much full time, with the occasional direct heal, and patches to the dog. DoTs were rough to land, only suggessful with magic. Kept hitting the pets with Talisman of Cougar to up DPS. Big AA Cani every time it became available.
Told the Air pet to guard where he was killing, and threw in /pet hold when the mob enraged, and Shaman peeled the dog and re-engaged when enrage went down. Mage ran out of mana when the mob was at about 50%, and assisted with heals every time I had enough mana to cast, and pet was below 70%. Finished fight after roughly 30 minutes with no clickies, no mana, no mod rods left. Shaman was in about the same condition.
Mage stats: 10k HP, 14k Mana, 570 Fire and Magic resist. Shaman stats: 16k HP, 13.5k mana, 480 Fire, 450 Magic. Resisted the AoE spin stun about 60% of the time. Stun resist is a big help here.
EDIT: Spelling. I'm tired.

So i did this today with a group consisting of an 80 pally, me 71 shammy, 79 bst, 68 sk, 72 rogue, and 74 monk.
We went behind the house and had the pally pull the swarmfiend to us, unforunately he also got two adds that were somewhat annoying in the beginning. I Malos ed right off the bad and tried Balance of Discord 3 times before we decided that i really needed to stay on heals. I popped canni V during the fight and still went oom. Luckily i had Spiritual channeling and managed to continue healing. Unfortunately the stuns stopped enough healing so the 80 pally died when the fiend was at 3%, but we still got it.
The AoE stun i resisted a total of one time the entire encounter.
Just fought him for a guildie, 2 rangers, 80th level, and 1 level 75 shaman for epic 1.5.
This guy has WAY more than 200K. I checked parse afterwards, Kead, my ebil ranger pal popped him for over 434K dmg and I, the other half of the ranger duo, bopped him for over 371K dmg. Total dmg shown on parse (Yalp) is 806K and change.
Long fight but easily doable, rangers both popped WS trading off to ensure healups, rangers both alternately popped Aimshot (one for each ranger depending on who had what) along with unloading AoA. Very manageable if you are a good team.
Side note: We were both oom as was the shaman by the end of the fight, we had two steadfast servants and a bristlebane going, they did replenish us AFTER the fight (and he shrunk me, again).

The estimated HP, while probably closer, should take into account that this was a kill that took over 11 minutes. Regeneration should be accounted for, as should the fact that this mob has 1500 lifetap that it can cast every 45 seconds. If it did indeed cast this effect every 45 seconds (and why wouldn't it?), you're looking at probably 9 lifetaps, barring resistance checks.
Does this parser, in fact, take into account this mob's ability to lifetap?
Druid use fernspike and scales of reptile on pet. I use searing skin and help heal pet. When GOEM pops I throw Rancorous Servant on it.
Managing mana is key as the thing takes a while to kill. Did some direct nukes occasionally towards the end. Fire hit ok, not great, once Mala (yes the mage old unresistable debuff) was cast.
We both are 2k plus AAs and 16k unbuffed mana. Not an easy fight despite those facts. But this was revenge for the time I blundered into this thing as a 50 something mage back on Morden Rasp :-)
Oh yeah. Also used the new heal XIII hot pots to counteract the occasional ramp damage. Saves mana that way also.
It did take about 45 minutes from zoning in to see the swarmfiend pop. As stated, he does spawn in the first worn down building to the right (east) of the Vex Thal entrance.
Duo was: 2.0 75 Sk 660 AA's - Anguish geared - half buffed to 2900 AC and 15k hps. 75 Sham 260AA's - 9500 mana pool - some Anguish gear, some Don dragon gear...
I wiped in the first 10 seconds of fight.
I pulled swarmfiend to entrance to Maidens Eye and hit FD to clear aggro on adds. My sham was far enough down the hall to stay out of agro range. Once the adds were gone, I stood my shadowknight up to get aggro.
I tried to run my sham down the hall to try to land Balance of Discord (fast casting slow)and refresh champion and panther. Unfortunately, within 6 seconds of standing my sk up, he was at 20% health. I never even had a chance to try to land a slow and I barely landed a single heal (which of course DID NOT crit even though I am only one level away from max heal crit AA). I missed my repeated clicking on my fast heal spell gem and didn't realize it until my sk was dead ( I forgot I had a hotkey already programmed to say who was being healed as well as the appropriate spell gem being cast). My Sham was immediately summoned and stunned to death.
Anyone who says they can duo this mob please list specifically the steps you took including the spells you cast and how you started the battle.
On my next attempt, I am going to use leechcurse disc on the shadowknight and start with One hand slash and shield rather than a two hand slasher (Morguecaller and Skull of Vishimitar rather than the 2.0). I will also cast lingering sloth on my shadowknight to try to proc a slow to try to buy some more time to land a real slow.
I am pretty confident with this mobs ******* of offense (stun and frequent quadding along with the rampage & 1500 DD Life tap) there is no real way to dual box this mob.
This mob quadded (four unanswered hits in a row in quick succession) my "max defensive" Shadowknight for: 110 1100 1400 1400
Most of his hits were around 1k.
Please post your experiences if you were able to dual box him.
Monk had 17700 hp, 2760 ac during the fight, with buffs + campfire. Yes, there were three toons there, but one was my shaman bot, just standing a little ways off waiting for mob to drop. Never used him for anything during the fight.
Shaman I used for the fight (not my bot, although I was botting it for this purpose ;)) had about 14k mana, 1900AA. Mostly Last Blood geared. Pretty decent healing focus as well I believe.
It was never really hard. I pulled it to zone, faded (Imitate Death), stood and tagged. Used various monkly things, epic 2.0 clicky, mend, impenetrable at the start, while landing slow on it. Slow was rather difficult to land. Used Malis Rk2 , journeyman's walking stick, and TSS bp clicky. Turgur's landed eventually. Slow did drop a couple times during the fight, but some extra spam heals and it was np to refresh.
Once slow was in, I could keep monk up with Halcyon Breeze Rk2 and the occasional spam heal. Mana was never an issue, kept around 80% mana the entire fight. It was a loooong fight though. So, I think doing this with an SK as only DPS might be rather tiresome. Make sure to load up a movie or something to watch while you do it =)
Anyways, an SK should have no trouble staying alive. The mob's DPS is really very gimp, compared to most stuff today.
75 Monk, at 16.5k with sham buffs only, 75 shaman box with 9k hp, 9.7k manaand 17k zerker (Bloodfrenzied, best dps serverwide!) this fairly easily. I got Malisinise + Tashani (tash stick) on him, then landed turgur's first cast. I'm sure any decent Txevu+ geared group could handle this with a bit of caution.
The healing wasnt a problem but dps was. The necro was feeding my cleric non stop, the cleric was getting stunned every once in a while so it ate my mana up to heal myself but that wasnt such a big deal.
The bard just stood there playing resists etc but rampage got them all once in a great while.
I could not get him slowed with enchanter or shaman... Maybe i needed to stand IN him like many mobs, but i couldnt control all of them and hold aggro bla bla.
Dots didnt land although I did tash/malo and scent from Necro.
Ranger kept getting spun so wasnt even looking at the mob most of the time to bow him(I probably could have stood back farther but wasnt sure.
Even what appeared max range people were getting hit. I have the best extended spell items/augs you can get so... wasnt sure what to do.
I was the only one dpsing him and it just wasnt enough as the shaman/chanter tried to slow, ranger was looking off in la la land(spin), cleric was stunned/ching, necro was feeding cleric, who stayes FOM even with spam ching.
Any help is appeciated, his regen is just insane, and even with crits i only got him down to 96% and he regened almost instantly.
Fight lasted honestly 10minutes+ and i didnt move him.. finally i just said ***** it, zoned the cleric and went with the wipe.
Took him down last night with a casual guild. We only raid once per week.
Groups were like this: Group One 70 Paladin (MA, 13k Hps, 2500 AC, all defensive and mitigation AAs) 70 Paladin (SA, 10k Hpss, 2100 AC, a couple defensive AAs, this was me) 68 Paladin 68 Cleric (duo boxed) 70 Shaman (duo boxed by me) 68 Druid (missing a lot of spells, very under equipted)
Group Two 70 Ranger (well equipted, but died at the tank's feet on the pull so did not contribute to the actual kill) 69 Shaman (duo boxed by ranger) 70 Druid (missing most of her spells, MM baby) 62 Necro 70 Rogue (very well equipted) 70 Druid (very well equipted but being duo boxed by the cleric)
Group Three 58 Rogue 65 Wizard 70 Enchanter (who reported was not landing anything and went AFK) 65 Druid 70 Necro (well equipted)
Now with the exception of two people who were Time geared the other "well equipted" people were around elemental geared. We are not a raiding guild and are not well equipted in those terms. As you can see we only had one cleric and that one was being duo boxed.
We pulled to the entrance. The ranger pulled trains to clear a pull path and got him single by harmonying the surrounding mobs. This was our second try on this mob. First try, she came back with him single and was never touched. This time she did get him single but died right at the tank's feet. The tank cornered him in the first short corner of the entrance, right by the tunnel coming in from the plain (not ME). We had already done spacing, having cornered previous mobs so the casters knew exactly where to stand, oposite MA in max range but close enough to land spells.
He got him cornered immidietly and the strat was for all druids to spam heal him with short fast heals, the two pallies to heal themselves from the AOE rampage, the casters hopefully being out of range, until he was slowed. My shammy was to debuff and the other boxed shammy was to spam slow. Our tank was excellent on agro so spam could be done with no worries. I could land malo but only landed putrid decay once and never could land it again. Mob was tashed but we did not have mala. The GoD shammy slow DID LAND and mutiple times. Weirdly enough the 69 shammy could not get it to land at all, my 70 shammy could with same spell. The 69 did get the GoD slow to land on the previous attempt but we also had mala that time as well. For every time I got it to land, it was also resisted. But it did land at least 3 or 4 times, I lost count.
Fight was longer than expected. He suposedly only has 150-200k HPs but we were very short on DPS since the druids had to heal a lot. Once slowed, he was cake walk. Healers reported MA never dropped below 50%. Stun was resisted with infusion but not all the time. Landed several times but since some resisted and some did not, there was always a healer healing the tank. I do not know if they changed it but the rampage sure seemed like it was single target rampage, NOT AOE. No caster got taouched by it, but only one melee at a time got hit by it. If it is AOE rampage it is directional. Because the only two hit by it were us two pallies besides the MA. We were standing next to him in case he went down so the mob would not turn or ping pong.
He does enrage. Max hit reported by me was 1273. Not sure from MA. he does hit FAST even when slowed. Fast heals are the key. With decent DPS he is not a long fight so keep your healers on spam heals with a good agro tank and you should not have a problem!
