Used silly Enchanter Pet, because the mobs surrounding her don't charm. I also had my healer merc. Killed all the surrounding mobs, which made her targetable, but I was too close and she aggroed instantly. I was LoM, but Gather Mana fixed that. I used Veil of Mindshadow, Polychromatic Rune and Eldritch Rune to protect myself. Mezzed her Guardian for the duration, Just used Thin Air, Polychromatic Assault, and Mind Phobiate on Gift of Mana Proc. Wasn't difficult at all, but it did take a while. Also, keep checking her Guardian to keep the mezz up.
I used a friend's level 95 monk--72k hp only partially buffed. I came up behind the mobs on wall. Sat my chanter there. Several named were up. I first killed a few of the guardians/sentry around her. She then became targetable. Got her down in seconds. No merc necessary. Two adds spawned but they did not agro? I killed em off real quick so chanter could safely loot. I knew this would be an easy fight for this monk, so even though it's the 4th piece of staff--got it first! :) now on to the fun stuff!
War Caller Kaavi is denoted on the map in the south west region (lower left). Party consisted of myself (75 enchater), 75 Cleric, Merc Tank, and a Merc Rogue. Only killed one Sentry of Kaavi when she became targetable. Pulled her and two other Sentry of Kaavi showed up. Mezzed them and killed her no problem.
She was up but not attackable when I get to her. I killed the 6 guardians that were up and then she was targetable. Ran up to her and started attacking. The guardians respawned at this point but did not attack.
This was about the easiest of the mobs to do in the 1.5 epic, mainly because she was up upon my arrival. (She conned light blue to me) Just pull the 4 Sentri of Kaavi mobs around her and kill them one by one. Then you can pull her. The Guardian of Kaavi mobs spawned after I pulled her but didn't agro for some reason. Guess I pulled her quick enough. She summons and all that but was very easy. Dropped the fourth piece and nothing else.
allright, heres how it played out, had 1 rogue, 1 enchanter, 1 shaman, 1 warrior, 2 cleric mercs, warrior is 81 with 22k hp and 3500 ac, cmb agi lvl 17/ sta 16
there was 9 guys around the ikaav war caller, they could all single or double pull, mobs didnt hit hard at all, then pulled ikaav two adds spawned, Guardians of ikaav, i parsed fight, with shaman slowing ikaav plus adds did 319 dps to my warrior, so all i needed was a lvl 50 cleric healing me if that. took about 40 secs to take adds+named down.
Seems to be on a 24/25 hour spawn time. Wasn't up shortly after server reset, but since all the other epic mobs in bloodfields were up I figured it had just been killed.
LoL says who there is no defintion of how to solo a mob in a way he did solo it 1 person did it solo, on his own, no other people helped, you make a valid point. people think differently deal with it
We are a family style, casual raiding guild, raiding one to two times a week at most. This was arguably the easiest of my chanter epic 1.5 mobs.
We took down three groups. We had 56-70 but most were around 65-70. However, none were time, qvic, anguish, etc geared and very few had 68+ spells. It was still overkill. Ranger pulled sentries mutiples which went down in mere seconds. Caller became targetable and 10k HP warrior was our tank. He popped offensive disc first, two clerics had no trouble keeping him alive, one cleric was CHing who was not even waht would be considered elemental gear and one 70 cleric was spamming small heals. He did pop defensive then and was never in any danger of dying. We did have very good DPS. 70 necro with 1.5 epic, 2 level 70 rangers, smattering of Bls and assorted melee and three druids nuking.
Slow landed by chanter and shammy. Shammy was level 63. Cripple was resisted. Did not flurry or rampage but did enrage. Level 70 ranger pulled and got one guardian add, easily mezzed with felicity (what I used not sure on resist on lower mezzes) Ranger died on pull due to lag spike in the zone and warrior not grabbing agro quick enough. Took maybe a minute to kill with very un-uber peeps. gestimate about 30k-50k Hitpoints.
I duo'd this, i botted the healer also so was just me. All i did was pulled all the nocs single and killed them then war caller became targetable. I dodnt see these mobs at first but i guess when i pulled her some guardians popped, they had a ton of hp so i killed them while tanking war caller at same time then killed war caller. My cleric was at 20m by the time war caller died. Keep in mind I am anguish geared but my cleric wasnt.
Because there wasn't much in the way of real detail on this mob, we organized a three group raid last night, and completed it successfully.
When we arrived, we found War Caller Kaavi surrounded by the 6 Sentry of Kaavi (level 65)and 6 Guardians of Kaavi (level 68).
Our bard pulled, but it was impossible to pull a single as they were immune to lull. Pacify wasn't tried. Typically, a Sentry of Kaavi would come with a Guardian of Kaavi. We'd mez the sentry, and take the Guardian first.
During one pull, the Sentry of Kaavi resisted mez 4 times in a row, resulting in dead chanter (lvl 66 w/305 charisma), but was successfully mezzed by bard (lvl 68 w/310 charisma).
The warrior reported that the Guardians of Kaavi hit for max 600 with defensive up.
As Strats reported, after the Sentry of Kaavi mobs were killed, War Caller Kaavi became targetable. We pulled her, and got the last Guardian of Kaavi as an add, which got mezzed.
The War Caller did not flurry, or rampage for our encounter either, but we did have some people lose 1 or 2 buffs (they'd all been fresh) so I assume she debuffed.
Our Warrior reported that, with defensive up, War Caller Kaavi quad hit for 700 fairly often.
None of our people were elemental geared, with the average raid level being 64 for the 3 groups. May have been overkill, and doable with 2 groups, but we felt better safe then CR.
Tried this mob today with a 12K, 70 warr and 69 cleric, and myself, a 69 chanter. Mezzed guards, landed slow and cripple easily, but didn't have the dps to kill it. Got it down to 50% when warr's defensive wore off and things fell apart. Need a dps class to do this.
EDIT: Came back a short time later with a full group and completely tore Kaavi apart. I really think this is doable with 4, including a nice-ish tank and a nice-ish DPS, and that is not using Time stuff at all. Very doable with one level 70 group, bordering on overkill.
Just for perspective on what type of group is needed, I'm a 66 Enchanter, Fully EP flagged, but little EP gear so far. With similarly equiped friends we managed to kill War Caller Kaavi. It took 9 of us. All you need is a solid tank, 2-3 healers and some DPS.
We killed the 6 Kaavi Sentries around her, pulling them safely away from her area to kill them. We pulled two directly across her, while they are living, she isn't targetable and won't agro. When the last one died we watched her respawn. No sign of the outer four guardians that were supposed to spawn. I mis-read that it was after you pulled her that they will spawn and two will agro. We didn't have a FD puller so Druid pulled, she came, they popped. I mezzed one of the two immediatly, tank tagged War Caller Kaavi and the Druid pulled the other away from us and evaced. It never came back after us. Kill was really simple from there. All debuffs landed.
Anyone know respawn? Have had my BF's toon sitting at spawn point for a few days and neither War Caller or Sentries are popping. Only thing I've seen is Guardian of Kaavi
Seems to be a few hours to 24 hours. Folks seem to think that if there are remnants of the prior event (like the Guardian of Kaavi you mention), she will not respawn. So clear the Guardian's and re-check in a couple hours.
Took her down with PAL, MNK, RNG, BRD, KLR, SHM, ENC.
MNK easiely splitted her from her Sentinels. Fight took 2 minutes approx. KLR uses fastheals, SHM patched, I runed. PAL was in danger only once bevor the KLR switched from CH to FHs.
max hit 1123 without defensive , max hit 672 with defensive. takes about 2 mins to kill with one grp , mob when agroed comes with 2 guards that are mezzable, no ramp no flurry and no ae )
Becomes targettable when you kill all the Sentry of Kaavi mobs. Once pulled, two Sentinels of Kaavi spawn and engage (level 68, mezzable). Our tank said War Caller hit for 2k+, but she died really fast so it wasn't an issue. No flurry, no rampage.
