How many of these guys will it take to fix my faction? I'm a dark elf mage, so I'm not very well liked in Qeynos. I've also camped a bard in Innothule. The guy was yellow to my 24 mage and I got about 1/2 a blue each kill, so I did it about 7 or 8 more times, wasting the other goods that spawned and terrorized the newbie trolls. Good feeling of power right there. Anyway, I think I've just about shot any chance of heading into Qeynos, unless this gnoll thing pans out...

I hate to say this but i am a level 11 ranger and have never meet a gnoll who could kill me, there is no way they are higher than 8 or 9, also they only con light blue or blue to me and it takes about 2 to 3 hits to get them running

I'm curently hunting the gnolls that spawn near the blackburrow entrance with my lvl 4 necro and they con blue to me. The only thing I have to do is cast clinging darkness and poison bolt on them and let my pet take care of the rest.
Hint to newbies...

Most of the named Gnolls (scrany, patrolling, etc) have predictable levels. The standard Gnolls vary ALOT in level. Some you can take at 6, others give you problems at 12...

Most people know you can get decent XP by giving loadsa Gnoll fangs to that Commander in the Qeynos arena, but be careful - he only seems to give credit (XP and Moonstones) for 4 at a time - wastes loads before I worked this out.

Gnolls are not too bad and these guys are one of the lower level of gnolls out there. With my original character I took myself from 5-12 hunting gnolls. Just make sure you don't aggro a bunch of them at once and you will be okay.

When I first arrived in Lake Rathe through SK, i conned these things, yes the regualr gnolls, and they were red to my lvl 14 bard and my hubby's lvl 14 wizzy. The shamen and gaurds were yellow however. What's up with this?

Not all drugs are bad. Robitussin is pretty good, especially in the winter . . . and I couldn't make it through the day without Advil.

But any way I was just sitting down memerizing my spells and all of a sudden one of these things jumped out of no where and killed me before I even knew what was happening. And then I was telleported right to Erudin (my binding point) and when I got to the docks to catch the boat to qeynos it had just left. But to make a long story short By the time I got back to where I died My body was gone. And I lost a lot of good Items and Money. And that is whay I hate Gnoll's.

I realize that this is a lot late to post a reply, but for all other readers that may not know I'll relay my story:

Got killed in BB and when I returned couldn't find my body where I died. I did a /corpse and got a response that I was too far away to summon my body, moved around a bit, tried /corpse again and voila... out from a wall popped my body. WhooHoo!

Not sure if this was the case here, but it helped me. /corpse is great, even for just letting you know that .... Yup, it's here somewhere.
Beware of nonfalling gnolls
# Aug 15 2000 at 7:19 AM Rating: Decent
when you see a gnoll "fall" off of a ledge beware, they DO NOT acually drop and will appear near or where they were before they fell. (hents to all the casters, if you're in trouble jump into water from high points like elite ledge, they cannot jump down after you. Although they will run around and walk into the water, and they do swim fast. But this extra time is ample enough time to gate)

Ringmail Armour
# Jul 17 2000 at 8:41 AM Rating: Decent
The Gnolls in Highpass Hold drop large ringmail armour.

You can start hunting there at around lvl 14 but it is quite tough until you reach lvl 16. The loot and XP you earn more than makes up for the difficulty though.
Maybe not....

That's not true.

In highold, the gnolls are far eassier than the orcs. period.

But why are people told to hunt the orcs at around lvl 17 and the gnolls at around lvl 16?

Personally i started at lvl 15 and am going back when i raise my fletching skill a bit higher (lvl 17 now!)

But i got some high groups who where like lvl 17, so i may have been lucky.

Those damn orcs beter watch out.....

Cliffjumping gnolls!
# May 25 2000 at 4:21 PM Rating: Decent
Twice within 5 minutes, a gnoll spawned at the top of the "lookout point" cliff in BB, and both times I snuck up behind him. The first time was a quick kill, but the second time the stupid beast jumped OFF the cliff. I looked down, expecting to see him in the water, but he scrambled right up the cliff face, hitting and stunning me immediately upon appearing. I did get my kill though. Just be careful not to chase a gnoll up there without paying attention to where you are, because that's a long drop, water or not.

Round up lots of gnoll fangs. Then take them Captin Tillin on the upper level of the grounds of fate.Don't pile them, use 1 for each slot.He should give you as many moonstones as you had fangs.Take the stones to the guy behind the people behind the counter in the Fishes Ale. give them to him,1 in each slot like the fangs.I wasted 19 fangs before
