I was able to box this with an 83 Ranger (19.5khp, 3.8kac), 82 Cleric, 80 Wizard, and 3x Tier 1 CLR Mercs.
First attempt I had to Evac out but I learned enough getting him to 70%% to finish him the next attempt after medding. I originally had DS on and had all the merc CLR's healing (balanced, efficient, active) but was getting duplicate pops on the adds due to Smasher losing HP on my DS (this was the 75%/70% stretch) and the mercs ran low on mana quick.
Second attempt I made sure to kill my DS (so Smasher would not be lose HP while on the adds). I also kept 2 mercs in passive mode and 1 in efficient mode this go around. I cycled through the mercs this time so mana was not an issue most of the time. When I was getting a little low I would switch Ranger to board and sword so they all could med a bit and just dropped delayed Cheals till they medded to a safe amount.
To be fair, the guy I was killing the mob for (a zerker friend) did help from 35% down but I felt comfortable in knowning that if I had got that far with no problem I could have dropped the mob the remaining amount without his assistance.
85 warrior, 32K hp / 5k ac unbuffed 85 monk, SoD group geared around 24k hp 81 shammy, around 14k hp + 2 T5 journeyman cleric mercaneries
not very hard with this setup as soon as adds spawned I changed the warrior and monk to the adds and killed them, and shaman only casted panther when the mob was at 2%, the warrior tanked it and I changed to my zerker (not sure if kill flag is needed), then at 0% 2 more adds spawned, killed Smasher, then adds, and looted item on zerker. Be sure to take down adds as soon as they spawn, as they can really add up !
Adds will spawn x2 at 90% 75% 70% 55% 50% 35% 30% 15% 10% 5% and at 0-1% during this fight. Turn off all dps on named when they spawn,and kill the adds to keep them in check they can pile up and wipe you fast.

Finished this fight tonight with seven: 2 Cleric, 2 War, 1 Zerker, 1 Rogue, 1 Wizard, and 1 Shaman. Adds spawned at 90% but then seemed to spawn somewhat sporatically (had another set at 75% but then another set at 68% and random afterwards) One warrior took adds, other tanked smasher. Looted item and chain chest piece dropped from chest. All toons were DP/DK gear.
Did this guy today had 12 peeps 2 80 wars, 1 80 clr, a 77 clr 75 sk 75 shm 76 rng 70sk 68 druid 72 zerk 75 mnk and an 80 Pal but was pretty easy fight 1 of the 80 war stayed on named whole time and assisted with adds as well as the zerk same thing as war. Sk Pal other war did the tanking was pretty easy we burned last 15% of named and dealed with the 4 adds lost zerk right at end of fight and the druid but was over all easy...most toons were Qvic+ geared some demi plane but mostly CoA... I liked the fight personly hehe GL out there zerks

Beat this guy with 12 peeps, geared mostly in DP/DK w/some TSS raids. Way more than needed. Raid was: 2war, 1sk, 1pal, 3clr, 1shm, 1dru, 2mnk + zerkerbot. It went ridiculously fast. The MT swore the Bazu's HP was dropping strictly from ds and riposte. at one point we may have had 6 or so adds up. Long as you have tanks to manage the agro, dps on main assist, and healers out of AE ramp, its cake. Mnk said he did same event w/6 DP geared (war/sk/mnk/clr/shm/dru), and one rogue said he boxed the event trio'd w/his main 75rog (DK/TSS raid), 75 War (CoA/bot), and 75 Clr (DK/TSS raid). If the DPS on Smasher were controlled his claim is probably true. He said Vortex blade was all he needed for agro management. GL Zerkers :)

tried it today with Pal shm zerker heres the information we gathered
Max hit 1998 *can break 2k on unshielded tanks*
he and all his adds are unslowable (got message)
with the right resists the ae's are non exsistant
his adds spawn at 90% . 2 . max hit was 1114 . normal hit was 249
his adds seem to out dps him heres reason
he seemed to hit very very fast till i noticed . he was a zerker mob .. he was hitting me 8 times . no miss , for 34 dmg to 800 dmg . and then twice ~ 4 times for 1998 max
took about 2 mins to beat him with pal and zerker to 90% if that . low hp . adds are deffinately tied to his hp . just be aware of them is what i can suggest we died to his adds because i just couldnt keep myself healed fast enough when i kill him i'll update with more information

pal was 18k 3k ac 35% shielding ect . was MT war was 15.5k 2.5k ac 13% shielding . OT monk was 15.5k 2.2k ac 7% shielding OT 2
1 cleric per tank . clerics were , pop geared on MT , ele geared on war , and anguish geared on monk
shm was anguish geared and preped to heal MT (she doesnt run outta mana omg)
the fight took 45 mins here is the strat i used , raid stoped DPS 1% before every 5 and 0 , so .. 86% 81% 76% ect
the ADDS spawn anywhere in garden (it was random) and leash to smasher and memblur if they get too far away summoning clerics if that happens
adds spawn at 90% 75% 70% .. dont remember exact specs when next ones came but it was that pattern .. 2 adds at 10% and 5% so dont burn it we played it safe ;)
dureing the fight everyone had died as we learned it . we never wiped but every cleric and the shm died at least once. monk died once .. in fact only people that lived were me (the paladin) , and the zerker there were several moments where i just tanked it no dps applied to mob while everyone resed buffed medded ect
take it slow . take it easy bring a big tank (pal perfered) get those resists up (war best off tank for adds since they mana drain)
we ended fight . pal 5% mana shm 80% mana with all her tricks up all clerics had divine resed themselves, the one on the MT used staunch
So I'm two kills away from epic 2.0, just wanted to confirm my tactics for the two:
1) Ancient Necromatic Shade: 2 groups, monk pulls guards one at a time...'nuff said...
2) Bazu Crusher: This is where it's tricky...
You need about 20 people. One group with two clerics and the rest healers to handle the adds, and one group to handle Bazu (MA and healers, and zerker for DPS control); the rest of the raid helps with the adds.
This seems like a control-DPS raid (get mob to 90% quick to spawn adds, get the mobs to 80% to spawn adds, bla bla bla), then slow down DPS while the rest take care of the adds...ect...
My main question is this: How many people (levels and classes mainly) do I need to pull this off? I already have my anguish globe, just need *pretty much* this mob, and don't want to attack him without positive results. Thanks,
Did this fight today with about 20 people, it wasnt bad, adds are supposedly leashed to the Bazu Smasher (we didnt test it though) just need 1 group with 2 clerics + tanks to get aggro on the adds when they pop. We had the zerker and a warrior on the Smasher while the rest of the raid waited on adds to spawn, didnt have any additional DPS on the Smasher. When adds spawned we had OTs grab them and the raid burned them down.

Two adds spawned at around 90% at the entrance to his little garden.
1 or 2 more adds spawned later on (not sure if tied to health or timer) and then we wiped. We tried to offtank adds outside the garden but tanks couldn't hold agro. The adds would keep returning to the boss and get healed. Apparently holding agro inside the garden is possible, but we decided to move on before testing fully.
I can confirm that we had 2 adds at 90 percent. Not sure if there are more, since our two groups died at that point and we moved on to explore more mobs.
We attempted this guy after he was perma killed and he was up after that patch. Guild decided to give it a go around, wondering if they had changed his loot (this was before knowing - today - that he is for the berserker 2.0 epic). We got the 2 adds at 90%. There were no adds at 80%. When we got him to around 68-69% he spawned 5 or 6 adds (same adds as before). That wiped us. Looks like you need a lot of healers and tanks (we were very much caught off guard).
