Shaman

Spite Golems are highly resistant to Magical, Fire, and Ice Based attacks.

Spells with negative resistance checks will stick such as Druid's Winged Death. Breath of Ro also sticks reliably, despite being fire based.

Poison and disease work well.

If your not using low resist spells you wont cast on it ..... IE ... if your not a wizard, you should be medding

the generall way to kill them is have the melleers swarm them as usuall, and have the casters med, and have the wis casters heal, magic is resisted too much to even bother with, necros and a few other classes of course can go about casting on these guys. usually a little longer fights than usuall, and ive seen them run away toward the end of the fight and make trains, nastey guys. the people that chase the golem usually die. not sure about being super hp mobs, they take longer to kill than an avg mob, but thats probably because most casters cant nuke.

casters not casting

Ever heard of wizards, truly one of the mobs that really shows what a wiz can do. The lure line of spells from what i have seen are the only thing that lands on this guy. Our chanters dont even mess with these things, its pointless, (unless you got some crazy chanters that like to melee). Though like any normal high end mobs, wizzies dont cast till 50% as normal. Last i was up i landed 4 out of 5 casts of Lure of Flame on these things ... its not impossible .. just gotta have the right spells and the right level to hit em.

last raid the leader told us to dispell the spite golems twice, then try to make the spells like snare, slow, lower resist etc stick on him. seemed to work, or at least they didnt run away anymore =).

The drops are pretty sparse. I have been on maybe six Hate raids, and currently have the gauntlets, two bracers, the arms, and the boots. I wear all but the boots, which just aren't worth it without wis. I also was extremely lucky to get the spitestone shield on my very first raid, I've only seen one other since. Some raids we haven't gotten a single solitary drop other than the iksar stuff which is junk since we don't have any iksar shamans...watching that iksar breastplate rot was heartbreaking.

I have never seen a rune etched breastplate drop, only one helm and one set of legs. But then, we haven't found the Master of Spite yet, who seems to always drop a bp or legs in addition to another random piece. Bracers appear to be the most common, which is typical with planar armor, followed by the useless boots.

just because it doesnt have +wis doesnt mean its not worth using =). eventually youll have over 200 wis (if you dont already?), realise that the mana per wis point drops, and be looking for other stats to pump up, str or resists for instance.
just my 2cp =)

Kill them first
# Mar 25 2001 at 8:17 PM Rating: Default
In any raid i've been in, if during a pull you get more than one, which happens often, i've always been instructed to kill these guys first. What's good, is depending on if they have been buffed, they dont have a dmg shield, like most other mobs do in hate, and they obviously dont cast.
Rune Etched drops?

Hi, apart from looking a bit too much like crafted armor for my liking i'm looking forward to getting my hands on some rune etched gear.. Just wondering.. how often does it drop? Like how many pieces per average length raid.. Thanks.

Well, I've been on eight raids and I've seen four (4) pieces drop. Three of those (2 helms, 1 boot) are largely worthless. The leggings I wasn't even in the running for because I deferred to a shaman going for a full set, the only full set on the server.

Golems
# Jul 26 2000 at 3:50 AM Rating: Decent
Since these suckers have insane magic resistance FORGET trying to mez them!! If they join a fight or are pulled ignore the other mobs you have and go straight for the golem. Not that they do have a weakness for poison and disease spells so necros and shamans can actually do some damage to them. If you pull 2 of these, have your people divine evenly up on each of them so that the healers dont get killed. If you pull 3, have your clerics and enchanters camp while you die valiantly 8)
Resistances

THe Wizard lure line of spells (52+) are very effective on this mob. No other wizard spell has been shown to work though.
Resistance

I had heard these have insane resistance to spells, however our wizard was having no trouble getting his level 52 spells to hit for full.
Veeshan
# Jun 07 2000 at 6:49 PM Rating: Default
No Veeshan. Think about it, her lice would be the size of CT and they alone would be 60+. But you do fight Trakanon an undead dragon. He doesn't look like a dragon -> dracoliche. More like think about froglok -> froglok ghoul then apply the same changes to a dragon. He's freaky. He's a key to Veeshan's Peak, and they have confirmed, Veeshan ain't there either.

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 21 2000 at 12:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey im new to EQ but my lvl 48 warrior friend told me you fight Veeshan...I think.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 04 2000 at 6:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Have you tried malisement to get his resistances down and buffs. That if it would work!!!!
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 16 2000 at 11:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think the guy on the other post said it best - "You can't call it not original" - Oh, please, like there isnt enough "originality" in creatures on the planes. Get a grip.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 16 2000 at 8:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is also lame verant c'mon use different mob pictures for different mobs

these things are possibly the nastiest mobs i've encountered on any of the planes so far (haven't met veeshan tho=P). they are almost completely resistant to magic although the wiz in our group did manage one spell, and even worse they have pets follwing them. 2 of these is almost certain death
Spite Golem
# Mar 01 2000 at 11:00 AM Rating: Default
These mobs have a TON of hp's... don't bother casting on it unless it's a disease/poison based spell because it will be resisted. As the nameless person said, they drop shaman armor.

i think a SK+Necro would be good members for fighting these, if any terrible thing comes, HT shouldnt be resisted by these

Bad Bad Bad
# Feb 28 2000 at 11:40 AM Rating: Default
More than one of these at a time can mean dirt nap for your whole raiding party. Melee only (although they can be hit with shock of poison). They have tons of hitpoints, and they put the smack down so fast it's stupid. Can't be mes'ed, can't be stunned...watch those pets, they like to get stuck and pull a train if you aren't careful (these guys are shaman).
RE: Bad Bad Bad
# Feb 14 2001 at 12:32 AM Rating: Default
No the pets do not have the resistance the "Spit" golem has, however if you pull one and the pet doesn't come right after it. EVAK... or die. preparing to fight one of these is bad enough with out getting the whole zone after you.
RE: Bad Bad Bad
# Nov 19 2000 at 11:34 PM Rating: Default
Can the pets be mes'ed or are do they have the same resistances as the Spite Golem's?
RE: Bad Bad Bad
# Sep 14 2001 at 5:25 PM Rating: Default
i have yet to see a spite golem pet =). but the spite golem is a shaman... so they do have +resist buffs they can use on anyone... not sure if mobs cast buffs on eachother in Hate, or just themselves.
