Not on the Circle of Unseen Hands faction even that they seem to be members of it.

Hes in a hidden cavern with all the smugglers...go to the lake with 2 waterfalls, go through underwater tunnel beneath and to the side of the one on the right. You come to another smaller lake. Swim all the way to the other end of it and through another underwater tunnel which brings you to the "smuggler area" and Anson. Loc is pos 35, pos 327, pos 42
just got to the lake with the docks behind the end and the tunnel is beneath the bridge that comes out of that area

He is a rogue guildmaster. So hes not slowable, and a mean dude. Do not mess with solo. I have seen people try, and they are all dead.

does anyone happen to have info on how hard stanos is? ie how hard he hits, is he slowable etc etc? would be much appreciated, thanks =)

Can someone give some details please.. Will be tanking him soon and would like to know if there is anything special I need to know or is it a straight forward fight? I assume he will become ENRAGED at low health. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

If this guy is not up, you need to kill his ph- a smuggler- that cons light blue to a 65 monk. He was pretty easy to solo, and both times we killed one ph and Anson spawned. When he spawns, you can sneak behind him if you have bad faction, tell him "I need to see Stanos" and Stanos will spawn. Stanos is also the only smuggler that still has old world models.
MAKE SURE you are NOT standing near Stanos' spawn point-stand on the table behind Anson to spawn Stanos, gods only know why but he won't spawn when prompted if you stand on his spawn point.
Also, once Anson is up, you can spawn Stanos all day long, so if you want to bring multiple bards and rogues for the head for the Guise of the Coercer (high elf illusion mask), you can respawn him all you want, so long as you clear any aggro you may get from Anson.
If you do want the faction, there is a quest to raise it.

Also, there seems to be a "bum" near the water in Qeynos that you can hand 5 gold to for faction hits, but not sure on his location or any other specifics.

Another note about the bent card... it is NOT LORE. You can carry as many as you want.
I emptied about 4 bags, total of about 60 slots and made 4-5 trips. I went from KOS to Amiable with the Highpass Guards and with Anson.
If you turn the piece you get back into the rogue GM, you get the same faction hits that the Rat Misk gives you, but it's up to you if you want to burn your Qeynos Guard faction (now fixable with a loyalty potion).
So, 8-9 Stanos kills was fixed with an hour of back-and-forth in Qeynos.

This guy and Stantos appear to be on Carson McCabe faction. I guess this is his operation (High Hold Keep isn't such a pristine deal after all!) I know that Carson McCabe himself is an SK, I killed him a lot on one of my alts (can't remember who). And his wife is a necro.

You can hand him the Stanos' Pouch from Maika Rale to get Stanos to spawn, OR you can say "I need to see Stanos" (which saves a trip to Quenos Aquaducts). At least one write-up stated that you have to be on very good faction for this to work. He conned Apprehensive to my rogue and it worked flawlessly.

I just did the final turn in today and was saying " I need to see stanos" to anson but stanos wouldn't spawn. I almost gave up and figured it was bugged. Then I tried saying " I need to speak to stanos" and stanos then spawned for me.

Our Rogue just did the epic back up to the point of getting the Sealed Box from Stanos. I noticed this time that the Translated Parchment that you loot from Renux (the step prior to getting the sealed box) can be opened and read. If you pay attention, you will notice that the tome refers to the illusion mask. The quest for the mask can be found at the following Allakhazam link.

From talking to people, it appears that current day (Omens of War hasn't been released yet) players can take him easily with a single balanced group, although you have to FD, pet pull, etc., to get him single and avoid having the other named mobs add, one of which supposedly has around a million hp. Also be aware of the possibility that you will almost certainly take a faction hit against Circle of Unseen Hands, corrupt guards, etc. (same hits as a smuggler) that could be quite sizable. Once we kill him, I'll post more specific info if possible.

Stanos' full name is Stanos Herkanor. He's a level 65 rogue (cons white to our 65 BL)and looks human, but wearing different clothes than the other smugglers in the smuggler camp. If he is killed and then his head handed to the General V'Ghera, you receive a Guise of the Coercer (clicky high elf illusion mask, infinite charges). Note that to get this mask, it means doing virtually all of the rogue epic over from start (which isn't that big a deal) so that you can spawn the General for the turn-in. It's unclear to me if the General despawns after this turn-in. If not, you can hand him the head when some other rogue spawned him for their epic.

Anson McBale cons even to my level 61 Druid so he's level 61 at least some of the time.
