For an idea of their HPs, I randomly killed 10 of these from all over the zone. One on one, strictly melee damage, went as follows:

1 - 322
2 - 307
3 - 286
4 - 314
5 - 322
6 - 315
7 - 251
8 - 287
9 - 308
10 - 311

So they have on average 300 HPs, give or take about 50 depending upon level, I assume.
Faction change?

Either due to a bug, or a purposeful change, I killed 2 minors tonight and got different faction changes. I was hoping to improve my merchants of rivervale faction, but no such luck.

King Xorbb got worse
Pickclaw Goblins got better
Clan Runnyeye got better

This may be a side effect of the misty thicket revamp.
Not the best for xp

These guys aren't the best for leveling...They seem to have hefty hp for their level, and hit pretty hard too. The minotaurs might be better, have better loot at least.Find ones with an axe, sell for 2pp.

For starters do you people reading the post actually read them.
SOme of your questions are answered on this page. Yeash.
I do have a faction question though. Why isn't king Xorbb faction listed here?
You gain King Xorbb faction by killing goblins in HKH.

ore drops
# May 11 2001 at 7:11 PM Rating: Default
can anyone tell me if the muddite elders and/or minors drop small bricks of ore or some kind of ore? Trying to get blacksmithing up but not enough plat to keep buying them. A response would be very much appreciated.

Yes, they sometimes drop small pieces, small bricks or large bricks of ore (including high quality ore for those halflings who need it.)
Nuisance mobs

I hunted the Beholder's Maze (Gorge of King Xorbb) last night. I went looking for minotaurs.

The very first mino I tagged with a DoT and led up the East Karana canyon came with a posse. A muddite elder ... and a muddite minor. I would not have expected something that low to come along to help the mino against a level 20 player, but he did. The real problem was that the muddites kept blinding me while I was fighting the mino. I eventually had to fumble my way out of the zone; I was losing because I couldn't see.

Incidentally, these guys apparently can't blind you if you have your back turned. I think what saved me last night was that I wound up with my back to the mobs. I took a beating until my vision finally cleared, true, but then I scooted for the zone.
root and nuke
# Aug 07 2000 at 10:16 PM Rating: Decent
Root and nuke work all right on these guys. Actually, my 12th level druid and another 13th druid. root and nuked a yellow elder. he zoned and i lived by dozen or so hps. It worked on an elder, so a minor should be easier.

that second root is supposed to be a snare
i know how
# Apr 21 2000 at 9:07 AM Rating: Default
THIS IS FOR DRUIDS- Maybe i was thinkin that you could root em, cascade em, Root em, swarm em, then nuke em with some spell over and over and over again? My theory was that when u r outta mana then they will come after you with like no hp and you will have full, then u could just melee em from that point on. Thats my theory, dont know if it works or not tho-Thank You!
These things hit HARD
# Apr 13 2000 at 11:53 AM Rating: Decent
Not only do these things attack you out of the blue... They are green to at least my level (17) ... you get no experience... only drop clay... And they hit HARD.

Plus they through mud at you and BLIND you for a few seconds... Your entire screen goes blank and you cant see ANYTHING.. no hot keys... no typing... not even sense heading directions to get to a zone!

PAIN IN THE ahem.. NECK
No Subject
# Mar 08 2000 at 4:57 PM Rating: Decent
these things can be an irritation due to the ridiculous amount of times they can stun you. more than orcs or minos that's for sure
Gorge of King Xorbb
# Feb 28 2000 at 4:35 PM Rating: Decent
I think the zone is called that or something like that.

Gorge of King Xorbb

Yeah, sounds right. I was there for the first time recently and there were these mud things. I notice that there is no zone for Gorge of King Xorbb in this beastiary.

Gorge of King Xorbb is called Beholders Maze in the beastiary.
over level
# Feb 17 2000 at 6:38 PM Rating: Decent
These things fight way over their level. Unless you are a tank they hit for more than some things level eighteen.
