i went hunting these one day as a 59 bst 6 AAs i didnt find them to be too bad just pulled to the hier part to kill them underwater . first 4 kills got 2 fins and a heart, dont know what your problem is if your over 65 hunting these
from wayfarers camp straight southwest, half the distance to end of zone you will find aprx. 10 potameids. They are social, i.e. they add to fights. At the spot you'll find other mobs which will also add as long as you are not too high in lvl. As lvl 69 pala only potameids add when fighting - they con light blue - and I can handle max 1 add, cause root breaks fast and the potameids do hit fast so casting is often interrupted. From time to time the named potameid will add, which makes it even harder fighting under water. Aprx. 50 kills with no drop of strands.
Found the camp, however they were not all stationary. I killed 4 and got the Sewead Strands. All of them were roaming a good distance from each other. 70 paladin had no problem soloing and could have easily handled them self buffed with clairvoyance if I had 2-3 on me. 10k hps self buffed (lvl 65 and below spells)
Natimbi Potameids - I had solo'd effectively at 70 with jus under 100 AA. Use Clar X pots to keep mana up (self-buffed to 9.4k). Tried on several occasions for drop, finally dropped for me tonight (04Aug05), after mebbe 10+ kills in zone (45min or so?). Used EB item, Clicky Levitate, and AA horse for fast tracking of underwater mobs. Kill in the S.West portion of ocean, in an area mebbe 1/2 way between the southern zone border and the START of the water's edge along the West wall. You will know when you are in the right area, if u use Levi + Pally horse + F8 to target. Many Potameids LtBlue at 70, killed up to 4 at a time, using self-slow (20%) and Goldenrod + tap aug for dps + tapheals. Used self-HoT + fast-cast for spotting and the occasional defensive disc when 2-3 on at a time before roots start to land (underwater push stops casting often ><). They are KoS to me btw, not sure if same to all. The green ones are mebbe 45-50% of the lt blue at 70, and the greenies donot agro unless provoked (not even to assist their friends hehe).
*edit* If trying to solo, pls note I attempted this back at 66 with 50 AA or so, and could only down 2-3 tops before running LoM, adds were a big pita. If 65-67ish and not elem + geared, try pulling singles to the West wall, and lettin them chase you along wall, heading North until reach the big rock. fight em there, away from their add buddies. May find it a lil easier :) GL
I have been camping this for several weeks now on the nameless server. I have seen 1 tongue, 5 hearts and 0 fins. I am thinking this drop is broken on the nameless server. I must have close to 80 hours camping this. I have even gotten the attack neck and FT neck to drop while doing these. I have also gotten the seaweed drop. I have seen 4 of them. not been able to find its use anywhere. Wondering if by this new drop getting added it messed up the fin drop. Have any others seen the fin in the last few weeks?
I have spent many hours searching for the fin. I still have not seen the fin yet. I think I have been under water killing the potamieds for over 20 hours so far.
I was chant kiting these with my 54 bard and when I would get an add I would try to charm kite instead of chant kite. These could not be charmed and gave the message that they were too high in level. I was using Solon't Bewitching Bravuara -- lvl 39 charm song that can charm max level 51 so these can be as high as 52 and maybe even higher -- all were dark blue at 54 though so maybe max level is actually 53.
These little she devils are found on the southwestern side of the zone out in the deep water, there are a lot of them out there, they are just very annoying if you want to pull them to land, or you can fight underwater, but watch out for the adds and the lack of sight lol.
in the area right across from the wayfarer camp...she appeared as i was pulling a turepta from north of the camp and agro'd my group. not sure if she spawned right there or was in the river as i crossed it.........no loot.
I ended up killing her (though she had no loot:/) seems like she paths into the mountain then turns around and swims out into the sea. Hope this helps some of you guys without track=)
Ive been trying to track Sirens in Natimbi and have had no luck. So is Siren a nickname for these hotties or what cuz I have had a Ranger help our group try to track one and nothing, look in the beastiary and nothing? Any useful feedback would be greatly appreciated.
