I noticed on my spell casting awaress messages, that one of the Mastraq's was casting five spells: Celerity and Sow amongst them, which I assume were being cast on Jhiru. Elsewhere I read the room does not repop except for the Kyv who runs back and forth. So I leisurely cleared the whole room, including the bridge. The mobile Kyv didn't repop in twenty or so minutes. I hit Jhiru with my usual bad boy medicine, but with a twist. After I activated Weapon Shield: I hit him with two dispells that dispell two slots each, and which have separate timers, so they could be cast back to back without a refresh timer. This gave me an 80% chance to dispell his haste, and any other shammy goodness this guy had. Well, WS expired after about 36 seconds as it always does, and in a few more seconds, he was dead. I ended at 90% health, and nearly full mana. Dropped a chain bracer, and the E power cell. Ranger level 80 was about 23k hp, with 1720 AA's at the time. The babies were along for the ride, but didn't contribute to my buffs, or to the fight in anyway, but I did benefit from the leadership AA's (so maybe not a true solo, but only 30ATK, and 20 hp at issue here). Sorry, forgot to record his hp's, and other fight details. I don't remember him enraging.

We did Tipt with me (SK78), shammie, cleric, zerker and chanter (all between 71 and 80, mostly non-raid geared).

After clearing the area he is in (for safety I pulled everything before doing him) we engaged him cautiously after reading the postings here. I attacked with Annul magic and followed with aggro spells, the shammie slowed and ate the rampage (which he survived, as he was prepared for it). Max hit on myself was like 900, rampage hit on the shammie was about 1400. Nothing like 2500 or even 3500 materialized and he went down under in short order.

As someone mentioned he gets stronger when he is pulled from his spot, we fought him right there.

Did today with 72 War 14.5 2300 87 aa's boxed 75 cler with 10kmana 723 aa's and 75 monk, 70 bst, 73 nec, and 75 bst. Ate the tank first try no problem hit for 2500's and ae ramp'd. Nec was able to get FD off. Rez'd buffed tried again. Ate tank even quicker this time. 3x's tried slow 3x's resisted. We did pull him off to side and ran across bridge pulled him there. Was gunna try to keep him in his area for 3rd try but no rez'ers lived so logged. Will edit when try killing him on gate side of bridge to see how he hits... Do not take him lightly will wipe a group quick.

This guy has gotten beefed up alot about same time they broke Anguish mobs with ae ramp. So now I can't wait for progression server to get to him. He ate a 14.1k hp tank like he was yestardays trash.

He now AE ramps, Hits for 3400 instead of 2400, and is immune to slow now, which before you could slow him.

Not broken on Stromm.
Last night was the 4rd time I've WS pulled it and it's gotten easier each time as my gear an AA count has improved.
Pulled with Balance of Nature then nuked to keep aggro while Shaman easily landed a slow, then our MT had no problem peeling the mob from me.

I've heard that Jhiru can go totally nuts if he's pulled out of his room, maybe that's what happened.

I always treat GoD named with respect, they can put out some surprising damage spikes, slowed or not.

If you pull him out of his room past the portcullis he would hit like that... if he wasn't, then that nature is bugged, but I did tipt recently and noticed nothing different.

The PAL got 1214AA/13095HP/2776AC/Shi+10/Avo+30.
The CLR got 86AA/6330Mana(nothing raid equipments).
We haven't used charmed pet. (Used 3 of summoned pets)

That attempt was flagging for CLR.
Of cource I have experienced well about this Zone. I have played PAL, DRU or/and ENC in team with friends/guildies many many times already. I sure knew how to do Tipt.
It was crazy busy fighting against Jhiru. So, multi-boxing is not good to try him. But It's possible anyway.

Thanks.

70 pal, clr, wiz, mag, brd, nec. All time+ geared.
My favorite group for Tipt consists of an 11k+ tank, me (bard), solid cleric, and a necro. The rest of the group can be pretty much anything, as long as they don't slack.
Last night's run, we didn't even bother to dispell. Pally pulled with a stun, I slowed first attempt after an MR debuff, and tank died at about mob 4%, but the rest of the group finished him handily. Mage tanked him the last little bit.
Exciting!

Did this last night with a 11K pally, monk, cleric, ranger, shaman, wizard. Pally had LoH and 4 shots left on soulfire. Ranger pulled with annul and WS him for a few seconds, shaman died trying to slow at 98% or so. Ranger got on ramp and died early on. Pally, monk, wizard just DPS'ed him to death, pally burned loh and all 4 soulfire shots while cleric kept him up.

I am a 65 warrior with about 9K buffed (with buffs grp had (9 and symbol). I was warned that this guy would ignore tanks with any defensive disc up (furious / stonewall etc.) We got to him fairly easily with a pooka as a chanter sidekick.

I pulled him with an arrow. (no he was not dispelled on pull. In hindsight this would have been alot better since his buddies usually haste him to the teeth) When we engaged I never used any disc at all for about the 1st 10 seconds of the fight. With a druid and cleric quick healing (Thanks Kamion and Dracarias)I was losing ground fast on health and when I finally dropped below 20% health, I took a chance and hit disc furious (repostes all incomming melee hits for 10 seconds). By the time I hit it I had enough anger procs off of my weapons that he hated me with a passion. (Great blade of the storms with anger 2 aug and cord hilted spike driver with anger 2 aug). He never lost interest in me for the rest of the fight. When I went furious I got another 5 anger/hate proc's from hitting him and repostes.

By the time furious was off, I was back to full health and good to go again. About 15 seconds after furious wore off, the mob dropped dead. I was still at 60% health due to the fact that by that time chanter had enough time to land a slow and cut his dps down.

I never touched and defensive disc such as stonewall / defensive since stonewall has that nasty snare effect to it and if I lost aggro there was a 100% chance we would have wiped.

He CAN be tanked with a 9k hp tank (although it is cutting it a little close). Had I not had furious disc, I know for a fact I would have died. All furious did was give the healers enough time to get me back to full health and the chanter a chance to get him slowed. After that he is easilly tankable with 9K. It's the first 10 to 15 seconds of the fight that really sucks when he is not slowed.

I am not sure about whether or not he would have ignored me had I hit furious immediatly upon engaging, but as it turned out, by the time I did, I was way up on his hatelist.

Best group to take him? War, Druid, cleric, necro, Enchanter and 1 other of any choice.
(War for tankability, Druid for pet snares, back up heals, DPS, Cleric is obvious, Necro for the ability to FD and rezz cleric back after camp clears in case of wipe, Mana/DPS, Enchanter for pet, DPS, haste/slows)

P.S. As a side note I was told that no matter what disc I used or when I used it I was going to die. I was thrilled when I lived through it.

More info for those tryin for 1st time. Make sure the pet (pooka or cragbeast - they dont summon) are dark blue to 65.

NOTE** you may notice that I stated we got to him with a pooka as pet, but yet used a Craggy on the final fight.

That was due to the fact first time we got to the gate where final mob spawns we took a weee bit too much time setting up and bio breaks, that we got spanked by a Cragbeast wanderer spawn ( he ate enchanter first) Pooka and Crag wanderer ate us for lunch (THANK GOD for the necro Xenophone. Necro Fed Group his mana for rebuffs.. Did I state I LOVE NECRO'S?). We got rezzed up / buffed again just in time for the Craggy wanderer to walk back toward us. We were thrilled when he conned Dark blue to 65. We petted his butt and made him eat the final boss.

Did this 2 weeks ago with Ranger (me), Pally, 2 Druids, Chanter (crag pet) and BL. Pally stunned and I followed with immolate and an arrow, hit WS and engaged. Threw a snare and taunts (for what they were worth), for good measure and turned him so that the other groupies were attacking his back. Target died b4 WS faded.

Haven't done since so jury is out on good luck or good timing. Until proven otherwise, I will believe good timing [;-D. Pet was armed which definitely helps them eat faster (includes unlucky groupies sitting beside them if charm breaks).

Pull with dispell, or he will most likely be speeded and buffed up, all room mobs are.
What we do is clear the room (ignore the building to the right), move in and fight Jhiru on the left side. No need to fear he might add on pulls, very small agro range.

Rogue uses disc at incoming and tanks first seconds, warrior takes over when rogue disc almost done and does the same. Do NOT use defensive, Jhiru will kill someone else ignoring the war.
DPS is done by hasted and dual wielding chanter pet (use Pooka, Hynid or Cragbeast - i dont like Hynids thou for their runspeed).

I dont know about pets tanking, but he doesnt dispell if they just DPS him down...

There are a LOT of places in Gates where mobs resitance / dps changes based on other critera ... dont know what makes you think they "can't" do it lol. The annuling is for removing all the buffs he gets. Also, the leet ranger WS strat was out of date when you posted this; WS-like discs no longer work ... he just ignores them and goes to next on the hate list. It's still possible to use chanter pets but the number of charmable mobs was greatly reduced so it's harder to find a pet now.

You are 100% dead wrong. If you fight him near his spawn point, he has one version, if you pull him too far away (and there is a specific place this happens) the message appears: Kyv Heartstriker Jhiru redoubles his efforts, and his dps doubles.

If you don't know what you're talking about, then I suggest you not post.

Killed him 8/8 on TP. We pulled him to gate, near the stone building on the right as you get to his location. He hit for normal, and did not "redouble his efforts".

He hit for about 1k average while /disc defensive. He died in about 20 seconds.

This guy is extremely difficult if you don't have the right classes for him.

He quads in the 2200 area in melee, and even more from range, so it's best to fight him at his spawn point by the bridge.
He's a real beast, be warned!
Estimated HPs at around 50k.
He is slowable, but resists are a plenty.

(And on a side note, he does not corpse camp. Returns to his static spawn point when un-aggroed)

Our 9.5k HP paladin went down 3 times in a row with 2 clerics chain fast healing him and with this guy bard slowed.
We managed to get him down to 50% one of the times before the group wiped, without having a charmed pet.

Recommend that you either bring an enchanter using a charmed pet for this guy to take him down very fast, or use a warrior tanking for the discs.

It's definitely posible for a Knight to tank this guy with proper slow and lots of healing present, just much more of a challenge due to the lack of mitigation disciplines.

Necros are also very useful in this trial since they can FD if a wipe occurs, and simply res a cleric back in and restart where they left off. They can also summon group member corpses and get them resed anywhere in the zone if a person needs to leave expedition and another wants to join in as a replacement.

Good luck!

can be done with no tank whatsoever, berserker/rogue/bard all have 10 second "invinciblity" discs that can be used and if you have two pets (there are three+ pookahs that spawn) he goes down really fast (timed at 7 seconds w/mage weapons)

Also: HE NEVER DROPS THE PLATE BRACER.

Welcome to eplanes 2.0 where leather and silk rots after the 4th run through.

You don't need a warrior, but it makes it easier. It always makes it easier to have the "ideal" group but that isn't always the most fun. Seen pallies with about 10k tank this. Seen a ranger tank this with ws and an sk as dps. Be creative and know your class, and you don't need teh "ideal" group. You just need to play your character to its fullest extent by knowing all the caviats of your character. Bah, must have warrior my ass.

Done tonight with Cleric, Warrior, Ranger, Shammy, Pally, and Bard. All 65. No deaths along the way nor any on him. You do not need to have a chanter pet to do these trials. Yeah it makes the mobs die faster but not needed at all.

Beat him with
1st. Clr, Clr, Pal, Enc, Rng, Rng.
2nd. Clr, Clr, Rng, Rng, Enc.

First Attempt: only Paladin died (4sec shelf life slowed).
Second Attempt: No deaths.

As per using a Paladin Tank ....not recommended .....no defensive = fine pink mist where your paladin used to be standing. You CAN keep one up ..but sorry to burst your bubble but a certain degree of luck was involved .....ive parsed this mob as high as 4155DPS (when he gets some lucky hits) and as low as 783DPS (Summon and ditching).

The reason GoD is so awsome is because it forces you to come up with creative and exciting new ways to tackle hard mobs... but yes the cons are you must use certain classes. Realistically for any trial you going to need 1 cleric and one paladin or necro or second cleric. Unless you feel like restarting from scratch if a cleric expires. Yes for certain trails you need someone that can manage a pet for a VERY long time... and others that can manage that pet when it breaks and gets pissed or if the controller dies.

But I have a long memory. I remember life before Graveyards. I remember a life where you had an "ideal" group to do trials in justice and shamans sat there handing out buffs for hours without getting invited to groups. Now alot of these same folks that failed that trial over and over can pass the same trial with a dps group no mezzer and a dead cleric with rangers patch healing the MT. The moral of the story is that GoD will get easier and the dependacy on the perfect stock group will lessen. The gear is worth the pain. Hell the augments are worth the effort.

You can do this gut easy without a War to tank.
Just dont pull him too far from his spawn point he gets stronger the further you pull him away.
Use a riposite or weaponshield disc initially, that along with charm pet and he should be dead within 20 secs max.

This guy hits for 3780 damage. I pulled him 53% slow and he killed our paladin in about 2 and a half seconds. There wasn't even time for any of the fast heals to land (we had druid, shaman and cleric). You *need* a warrior. Frankly, this sucks and should be changed. I can understand warriors being better at taking damage, but to *require* one is just dumb. That either makes paladins/SKs a drag on the group (because you had to replace a DPS with them) or they simply miss the flag.

Not to mention the fact that our group got to this punk with very few deaths and then he wipes us in 10 seconds.

Well, when you say Pallys cant tank this guy you are wrong. The first time we pulled this guy we died due to misscomunication of heals. The cleric managed to not have agro and got us rezzed up. Our group was this. Monk, Sham, Cleric, Druid, Chanter and Pally all 65. When we were rezed we fought back to get us another pet, at that time we decided to try the Druid charm. We concluded it was verty worth it because the mob a finny cragbeast or something like that did not summon. We fought a little ways down and got the chanter a pet.... the pooka. We went back up and got ready. I pulled the mob using whirlwind disciplin and took the death. Then our Tank the Pally... Camara... Tanked it the whole fight just fine and we killed it. So basicly if the healers are right then you live with a pally tank.. she had around 9.1k hp.. so Its doable with Pally easy.

Don't know what kind of super healers you have, but with a 10k paladin, she died first time we tried before I could finish casting Supernal Light wuth spell haste. Since I didn't actually land a heal, I never had aggro and he walked away, so I rezzed the group and we tried it again. I got a remedy or two off, and then splat. Killing this guy with a knight tanking is downright impossible.

Simply put, you need to have your group live long enough for the pet to kill this guy. That means having a ranger pull and weaponshield, and after he gets mauled to hell, having whatever other melee are there activate a parry/ripo discipline if they have one, and pray that they manage to take the beating long enough.

I've killed him twice now. Once the group had nice DPS and the ranger actually survived, which was good because he was the only melee with a protective disc. The other time we had a warrior tank who took over when ranger died, went furious, and still barely lived. I managed to land remedy twice and wouldn't have gotten a third, and the ranger had pulled with dispel to remove his haste.

What the original poster said is correct - it is stupid that a paladin or SK tank is a detriment to the group. It is, however, accurate. I'd like to add that I also think it's incredibly stupid that in order to do Vxed or Tipt with ANY degree of efficiency, and to have a prayer at the Kyv at the end of Tipt, you need an enchanter that can manage a charmed pet. This in turn means you need a druid or ranger for snaring it when charm breaks, and then they normally pull as well. And of course you need a cleric. So ultimately, you have the same 4 people doing this trial endlessly, flagging 2 random people at a time from the other 10 classes. No it shouldn't have to be, but sadly it's the only reliable way.

quite likely, you pulled him too far from his spawn if he's hitting that hard.

you need to use more imagination. As a bard i pull and take care of charmed pets. If it breaks during a fight, i tap a mez on pooka and get back to twisting, the chanter can recharm and put it back into action in 18 seconds (when mez wears off). snare is nice, but pookas are slow already, the chanter just needs to move around for 3 seconds while i cast. i use a cleric chanter cleric war most the time, and invite pretty much who ever after that, what makes a medocre group able to kill insane mobs is that we play to gether all the time and can almost finish each others sentences, we know what the other guy is doing or is about to do and we know what we must do.
a drud shammy cleric combo can keep a pally alive very easy if sequnced correctly (and some luck). put the best HoT on the tank during inc, and the druid casts eals on the tank need it or not, along with the cleric, untill the shammy has it debuffed and slowed, then he can join in the healing or dps, the druid can too, but a group with lot of time together would stagger their transitions to dps at a different time
