Nameless First, mebbe

Killed on The Nameless by The Light Warriors and Dark Templar. 20~ avg level of 61.

Was a nice fight actually, considering the odds were against us from the start, but we pulled away a victory with only 2 deaths (one, a ranger, of course).

This big poser appears to spawn after you kill a random "a scareling". And his permanent spawn will be where you killed that scareling. Which is annoying cause if you wipe, guess where he'll be? That's right, camping your corpses.

I don't know how long it takes for him to despawn. I stayed there FD'ed looking at his fat *** for at least an hour.

If he's facing away from you he doesn't seem to agro. Although he'd randomly agro us, so I'm not sure what draws his attention as of yet.

Raid of 18 people avg level of 61 wiped out to this guy (well that and server/1017 issues really did us in since only 6 people were left when he popped).

We hit this guy yesterday while going after the Broken Golem, had about 20 peeps from 50s to 300AA, pretty much a pickup raid. We had one tank kiting him around a wide area (believe he was an SK, not sure) and the rest of us DDd and DoTed him while we could between mezzes. My Anathema and Bane of Nife spells both landed, as did Breath of Ultor from another shammy. Didn't resist that much, died in 10 minutes or so.

Very irritating mob!

It looks a like a huge scareling, hits upto 176 dmg and that AE proc is very irritating!
Once you're mezzed, other mobs will not attack you unless you've been awakened by Ireblind. Then every mob in range will come to eat you. Once mezzed again, other mobs back off again.
It also said it was immune to the stun portions of my stun spells.

Little more info

He will spawn waves of greenies, called Essence of Rage.

1st wave at 80% life, 5 Essence of Rage
2nd wave at 50% life, 2 Essence of Rage
3rd wave at 20% life, 2 Essence of Rage

These were unmezzable and hit for around 100-120 or so.

A way to avoid his mez is cast a low lvl DoT on yourself, if you can. This will break the mez.

What were they thinking?

This is a mob that at best is a time sink. A friend of mine decided he'd never been to PoF at L65 and he'd have to take a look - so he goes in solo, and, of course, dies. I happened to have a small raid happening, and he asked us for help with CR, and since we were curious if CT was up, we went in and did a mad zerg rush of the WW camp just because it's so much fun. Everything is peachy, and I'm just dragging his corpse to camp when this POS mob pops right on top of us and mezzes the whole camp.

Mez breaks for around 5 seconds max each, just long enough to cast a single nuke or run over and take a quick whack at him. We realized the futility of continuing to fight this rather quickly and ordered everyone to /q or evac and see if he'd clear camp. He doesn't - just sits there. Even evacuated the entire zone for 5-10 mins to make sure he had every opportunity to leave. Decided we didn't want to waste time on him and brought in coffins and summoned to the zone in portal.

I figure he's doable with the 3 or so groups we had, but you'd want to keep your entire raid in a tight bunch and keep him in that bunch as much as you can - if you get ported, bring him back to the group. Fast cast nukes between mezzes, fast heals to keep folks alive between mezzes. All in all, however, it would be a painfully slow process. Probably a good idea to just bring 10-12 IHT SK's in and whack him down fast.

I will repeat - STUPIDEST ENCOUNTER EVER, SOE, please eviscerate the dev responsible, chop off his hands to prevent him from further abuses, and remove his testes so he can't breed more like himself.

Does anyone have a strat for this thing?

It just wiped our guild raid 25 peeps, avg 63. Well, some gated and some got TLed, but most died. He chain casts the Shocking aura and you just cannot do anything. It's even hard to die, becaue while you are "shocked" you are invunerable. GRRRR

I posted this in the general section, but will repeat it here:

The Ireblind Imp procs Shocking Aura, which is an unresistable (-1000 resist adjustment) AE mez. The range on the AE is huge. After mezzing you, the Imp will just wander back to its spot and start regenning like mad.

There are also six mobs named Essence of Rage. These are green at 65, and immune to changes in run speed. They are imps, but not quite as large as the Ireblind Imp.

These new mobs caught us by surprise at the west camp and wiped out three 61+ groups. We were doing a conventional break in to help CR another group that had wiped, and then the Ireblind Imp showed up. Everyone, including pets, was suddenly mezzed. At first, we were all making jokes about it. Then as the mezzes broke, people started getting shadow stepped out of camp by the Imp. Then the Essences of Rage arrived, as did quite a few other roamers. As soon as the mezzes broke, the roamers would all rip into people, but the AE mezz would hit before we could do much of anything. Before long, people started dying.

The Ireblind Imp either spawns at the west camp or corpse camped us. Attempts to kite it out of the camp were unsuccessful, though the Essences of Rage were more than happy to chase people around. This made the CR rather difficult. The range on the AE was so large that it hit me at both the portal and the SW corner.

If we had been ready for the Ireblind Imp, we could have handled it. We had it under 60 percent health even without a strategy. Our problem was that we got caught totally by surprise.

Although the icon for the AE mez is poison, Lucy indicates that the save is against magic.
