This is a great place to harvest Froglok Meat, as all five slaves respawn in eight seconds.
The Froglok Slave pen can be found @ LOC: NEG 600, NEG 200 in Lower Guk. It is the first corridor on your left (west) as you exit the "safe hall' heading toward the Ghoul Lord (north).

Killing a slave only lowers you one point of faction with Frogloks of Guk (live side frogs). Killing one ghoul frog makes up for that.

Is there any way to "free" this slave from the FG room? His door opens, but he just sits there and doesn't answer to hails (I'm amiable to live). Was hoping there was something more to him than just for looks.

Naw... Remember this is EQ1 scripting... They were just trying to make the place look better I dont honestly think they could have even done that back then if they tried.
There is one thing you need to know about these things:
Occasionally, they drop some damn fine loot. I got a FS Rapier off one, Timourous Tuna off another, and an Emerald Ring (Est. Value: 80pp) off another. Every time I got these, however, I killed the Slave in the Frenzied Ghoul's room. Odd.

People probably gave the stuff to him, and he held it until you killed him.

Many many spawns in Lower Guk are connected to Froglok slaves. If your ever camping frenzy, I swear to you killing the slaves helps the spawn. It won't get you 40 frenzys in a row, but it definitly helps...
I've been in groups where we never saw a frenzied in 7 hours, and another group where we got 3 in 6 hours... wanna guess what we did to make the frenzy spawn in the second group? 8) He still dropped those damn rings 8(

I got pummeled by these guys as a brand newbie lvl 1 Monk heading for the Field of Bone from East Cabilis to get my first kill. 3 of 'em jumped me and so I ran to the guards... no help. Your only chance is to zone, and zone fast!

These are by far hardest mobs in Lower Guk! They hit for about 6 damage, i suggest you get two groups to take these on. Enc's are a must. Take care and watch out for these things!

Umm dont you mean Grobb? Trolls love to eat those things.. Ogres love to eat lizards in Freerrott. =)
