1) This little critter gives out *exactly* 36 flags no matter how many are in your raid.
2) He counts *every* "hail" said anywhere near him as a flag given out whether or not you have his sorry ugly butt targeted when you say it.
3) He doesn't care if you already have the flag, and will *still* count your hail towards the total he gives out if you hail him.
4) If you do not specifically have him targeted when you "hail," he will use up a flag but NOT necessarily flag you for having done the blasted raid.
5) He will stand around for exactly 10 minutes after he appears...UNTIL someone hails him and then I think he gives you only about 5 minutes before he depops like the punk that he is.
6) If you agro him he may refuse to give out any more flags, even after your cadre of very angry chanters have memwiped the snot out of him to drop agro.
7) Letting him kill the idiot who agro'd him takes forever (he only hits for about 40) and doesn't seem to make him any happier about talking to anyone else.

This level 1 mob is pretty tough!! He hits for 50, and has about 5k hp! That's alot for a level 1...
Wtf are you doing trying to kill him? Just hail, and gate your ass out.

Do you have to have ANY other flags done before you hail him. We did this in a pickup raid last night and when I hailed him nothing happened. I was standing pretty close to him, close enough that any other NPC would've responded, however I am 55 and don't have the flag to get in the CoD just the required level. Upon talking to the Seer she has a memory to unlock from when i got the pre-flag for Grummus but I never got to kill him. Any ideas?

That's what they mean when they say that level 55 allows you to enter Crypt of Decay "for exp purposes only".

After hailing him, you can port over to CoD-B. This is done by clicking on the chair near the CoD zone in (not the one near where he spawns as lots of people in our raid were attempting). After doing this, /keys will list something to the effect of 'lower parts of the ruins of lxanvom'. This is where Bertox is and this is the key/flag that is needed to kill him. You cannot access Bertox via 85% piggyback. Everyone will need to complete the Carprin cycle and hail this guy (and get the flag).
This guy only gives 36 flags and the cycle usually requires more than 36 to complete. Therefore, some people in the raid will not get there flag and will have to repeat it. My guild is not big enough to do this so I've had to do it in pick up raids. The way we've compensated for those who don't hail is to let them roll twice an any of the loot that drops. This also give a little incentive to get people to repeat it who are already flagged. Also note that you do need to be close enough to him in order to hail and get flag.
