Was Red to me at 62, so has a level range. Innate delay significantly lower than regular trash. Wasn't hasted, was still hitting faster than normal trash after proc'ing tepid depids on him (no mitigation message).

The caverns of exile is what's called "sol-c". You can get there from either sol-a or b, but I always ran there through sol-b. You can get a map for it from http://www.mapfiend.net

My team consisted of me, and my two bots, 65/40 cleric, 65/270 bard, and 63/2 druid. Once into sol-c the druid would evac us to the goblin side. That's the quickest way to get to Typhoeus.

From the succor point go straight into the first cave and take a right when it T's. Follow this path through the room with the swinging axe. In the next room with the two sets of stairs, take the stairs to the right; go up and over. The next room is a cave, go up the incline to the left and you'll emerge on a ledge overlooking the fire giant camp. Location is roughly +350, +350. AS mentioned before, any of the giants can be placeholders for Typheous. If he has the hammer it is visible in his and and he will proc dawncall on you.

On this ledge there are two stationary goblins you'll have to clear and one roamer. The respawn time on the goblins as well as the giants is ~25 minutes. I was able to pull the giants single to the ledge easily. They have a very small aggro radius. You *must* be in melee range to cast on them though, so lull and pacify never work but you really don't need them.

The regular giants hit in the mid to upper 200's unmitigated. Typheous hit in the 400's. Each time I fought him, his rate of attack seemed to increase dramatically after he got below 30%. Perhaps he just resisted slow every time but keep an eye out for that.

All in all this isn't a bad camp. The breastplate sold for a decent amount as well as the spell research items that drop. (Words of abrogation sell for about 3k on Xev.)

I finally have my hammer! I hope this info will help other clerics out on thier hunt. G'luck!

The fire giants and Typh are not high resistant, the trick with these, you need to be in melee range to have spells land.

This guy spawns along with the other giants in the room which is right next to Xaon room with a large ramp and a tunnel going underneath it (along with lava over most of the floor). Does not have a static spawn, he is random, but we found him most frequently directly under the ramp in three different locations. Spawn time is the same time as every other spawn, not rare at all we got him 3 times in 4 spawns. The first two times he had the cleric hammer and he was blue to me (level 65) the third time he had the breastplate and he was yellow to me. Not very hard but all giants are pretty spell resistant sometimes maybe not quick to slow.

conned yellow to me at lvl 65, so he can also be lvl 66 or lvl 67. was also a very easy fight, not much harder than a regular fire giant down there, but man, its a pain in the *** to fight down to where his normal spawn is, (right outside the halls to the queen and her spiders). The FG's down there give barely any exp (yes it was AA exp also) and their pathing is really screwed.
Soloable?

Does this guy summon? Is he immune to root, snare, fear, etc. ? Could a 65 / 227 Necromancer solo him?

Not immune to any spells that I know. He is of Giant class so you must be in melee range to land.

I did root, snare, fire DD, cold DD, dot (3 types and epic) on him and all landed at melee range.

He does summon, the pathing is really strange in this area. We saw him pop a second time carrying the hammer but the guy poofed right in the middle of the fight. Also as mentioned by other people about this zone, mobs like to move up walls and then reappear right on top of you.

Not sure about the Solo aspect. The area where he spawns is pretty crowded with giants. There are 3 common types..Warlord, Soothsayer, Magus. They spawn around a pool of lava, in a tunnel and 2 caves that eventually lead to the Fireback Spiders.

Hope this helps and good luck.

"65 necro just doing what he could lol"

Unless your nec really had no clue, he's the one who actually killed the mob (ie doing the majority of the damage).

The rest of your party was just keeping the giant distracted while he did it =P

I'm hoping he meant that in a good way IE "Doing what Necro's do best...", else you're right and he's sorely mistaken in the DPS output that a level 65 necro with pet is capable of.

Stumbled upon this guy early this morning in the fire giant area (near the dead end), he conned even white to the group at 65. Might want to change his level listed here =)

with a 65 war, 61 monk, 65 sham (me), 65 dru, 65 clr, and a 65 bard, this guy was a cakewalk. he is nothing compared to the mini-bosses in BoT of comparable level...tank said he hit max of 400 before a cripple.

Some odd reason, malosinia wouldn't stick if i was at max melee, and malos would, slow would resist. if i stood at the giants feet, malosinia punched in followed by slow...different than BoT giants. He dropped the Fire-Forged BP for us, Congrats to Fanthalous on the CT server on your BP =)

[edit] I have a screenshot of the giant and the BP, will send in to Illia later today .
