OK so i got this not long ago, took about 20 maybe 30 kills at the most.
You will see some comments saying "kill the frog in this corner and he will eventually spawn bla bla" if you go to mapfiend and download and install the latest map's. You will see on the map 5 frog traps , and the 2nd trop, or 4th trap "depending witch way you look at it" it will say his name there, the warlord.
Now for the main thing you need to know . Acctivate each trap, pull the frog and kill. you will commonly see "A young frog" those are just wastes.. Now keep doing the traps until you see a A Korascian Hunter . or of course. the warlord.
that is the trap where the warlord will spawn. The trap the warlord will be on will always spawn either a Hunter Or Him. So can just camp on that trap area. Or just kill the other traps as you go.
The Warlord trap switches sometimes. Dunno how or when, but i seen it in 3 different places of my time killing.
Decided to try camping this today, and following whats been posted before.. I decided to try this:
Rogue SoS over first trap, pops a frog, check second, etc.. On the 5th trap I would get the Hunter spawn. I did not bother to kill the young frogs, only the hunter, and tried camping just that trap.. and heres what happened. I triggered that same trap again and it was a young frog, so i went over the other 4, and on the 5th trap i triggered it was the Hunter. And after 10 cycles like this, I can verify that the Hunter / Warlord will pop on the 5th Trap you trigger in that cycle. This could be why people see them spawn in all 5 traps locations, depending on which order you trigger the traps.
The traps reset every 20 minutes or so, and you dont need to kill any of the young frogs. Pop all 5 traps, the last one triggered will be the hunter, kill hunter ( Can do without killing the Hunter, but the hunters do not despawn when traps reset like the young do, so you will end up with Hunters piled on each other ), wait 18 or 19 minutes for the young to depop right before the traps reset, then do it again. You can keep doing this until you get a warlord to spawn, I just did it without killing a single young frog on my last 5 cycles. He will spawn in the location of the last trap triggered of the 5 in the cycle, you can use this to Plan where you want to pull him from, just decide which trap is easiest for you to pull from and trigger that trap last each time.
[ps] If, for some reason you try this, and the hunter/warlord is NOT popping on the 5th trap, then the cycle has allready been started. You can fix this by triggering each trap until you get the hunter/warlord pop and STOPPING THERE. Do not trigger the rest of the traps this cycle. wait for the rest of the traps to rest and start again from the beginning. This is because while the traps reset every 20 or so minutes, the cycle itself does not. If you trigger to the Hunter spawn, and do not trigger the rest, that will set the hunter/warlord as the last trap in your cycle. You can use this info to put him at the first, third, or anywhere you like, just keep in mind that he will pop on the 5th trap triggered.. even if you only do 1 trap, you will get 4 young, then hunter, 4 young, then hunter, etc.
ok so i was wondering .. i whent here on my rogue, to each trap on SoS ... .. and being the good invis it is they didint detect me. yet they still spawned. so what im wondering is. once they spawn do we HAVE to kill them to get the % chance for the warlord to spawn? or can we simply walk up to each trap on SoS and open it and wait for them to depop and rince and repeat
I have seen him spawn in the first, second, and last traps several times each. (counting down from north to south). I also cleared the frogs in the southeast corner several times, but never saw him spawn there.
Bout 6 spawns in a row from the middle of the 5 traps so i'm pretty sure he can't spawn from any of the other traps, of course hes only dropping the cloak, yet to see the damn ball of clay
i just got mine this morning, first time doing these traps i was in the zone maybe 20 mins, got down to the last trap past the ledge and warlord popped and had the ball. good luck to all camping this, i think i got lucky but its worth it!
also, put the following text in your "poeartha_2" map file in your program files\sony\eq\maps folder and hit file > SAVE, then load up eq and zone into plane of earth:
P 722.7369, 1249.4973, -44.4496, 240, 0, 0, 3, Frog_Trap P 762.8552, 441.2773, 24.1308, 240, 0, 0, 3, Frog_Trap P 698.9662, 622.4436, 32.2127, 240, 0, 0, 3, Frog_Trap P 665.8143, 1054.7626, 0.0020, 240, 0, 0, 3, Frog_Trap P 741.4619, 860.9343, 33.8288, 240, 0, 0, 3, Frog_Trap
this will make finding the traps easy, just get near one and wait a sec as youll see a frog pop. not sure what the timer is on traps i think around 20mins, i was only there for one cycle so i may be wrong.
I am so sick of useless posts in this game. I solo this mob easily because its an 8 year old mob and im wearing solteris gear im so cool!!! First nobody gives a crap you solo yourself at night...write useful information.
I zone into earth , i follow the eastern wall south , you get into a corner area with a ledge going down , lots of frogs couple of trees there , like 2 gators and an annoying armadillo. I kill the frogs that are standing there looking at me and the warlord spawns , i dont know what these traps are and triggering them? Sorry but the straight goods kill the frogs the warlord spawns the end....
No special tactics you cant miss the area .
Zone in , follow east wall south .....wall ends in a corner area with lots of frogs, proceed to butcher frogs, make dinner , warlord pop.
I have a 65 shaman and 65 necromancer in the group , elaborate gear nothing flashy not a 6000k toon, i use a cleric mercenary and a warrior mercenary. The frog can still dish it out to normal geared toons (if you want to solo him with your SoD gear and brag refrain from posting)
Sick or Jealous ? It's like you said, the pop expansion is many years old so solo'ing camps like this is pretty common, so naturally people would like info on what to expect.
I got this today after only 3 hours totally campage.... For those camping or trying to spawn this mob don't count on it being this fast for you.. couple things you wanna notice when camping this mob and Key classes to use when camping this mob are as follow..... 1) how many Warlords you get spawned within a Period of time... If your only getting a Warlord every few hours your looking at camping this for awhile... If your getting Constant spawns keep at it you'll get it pretty soon... as when i was camping it i was having almost back to back spawns off the traps... 2) Key classes to box or use when camping this are Necros and Monks... If your 80 and got all your defensive AAs and a really good pet focus (necros) You most likely can take this mob np but keep in mind you might want a few Healing orbs and pet heal up as this mob wiped out my pet with TSS focus and Temerity Quick... If your a monk you might wanna have Heals as I know a Solt Geared Monk that would have trouble sometimes with him cause of how rapid he hits doesn't hit to hard but he swings pretty fast... 3) Persistance is really the key to this... Make it like an Every day thing if you want this clickie... by this i mean go in spawn traps if no Warlord after a couple of Trap triggers don't burn yourself out on it because most likely won't be getting it that day... He is a pita when it comes to spawning so if you get a Warlord spawned stay for another round or two to make sure you don't get another... 4) For those without FD I would highly Recomend heals being boxed in or brought with you as adds are a pain in the *** and some of the frog traps are really close to Prismatic Bailisk trap spawners so watch where you set foot or you might get a face full of a gator...
Disclaimer... All the hints i provided payed off for me I soloed it with 80 Necro 1420 AA with a palet of 13.4k HP... So it was fairly easy for me... Another thing when spawning the Traps as an FD class don't try and Fight the PH A Young Frog or try to clear to the A Young Frog as they will not path back to where they orginially spawned from.... Just train them with you and move on to the next Trap spawn if you get a Warlord or a Hunter they will path back to their Trap spawn point giving you enough time to Train the A Young Frog to the zone wall near by to rid yourself of these little critters.. Doing this will give you an almost constant Trap Spawning rotation... GL all Hope to see more Earthy peeps on Servers =D...
Ok so i now know where he spawns at with the 5 traps ... question that i wanna know .. do you have to trigger the traps in a certain order? or just trigger the traps and hope he spawns?.
Knowing the Ball of Golem is rare drop, I set out for this for my 75 Rogue boxing a 75 Sham for heals and slows. I cleared a path down the east wall and set camp on the east zonewall about middle of the 5 traps. I focused on clearing roaming mobs, static spawns in the way, and 4 of the 5 traps (left the southernmost trap alone). Repop is 20 min. Easy to keep clear if you let the roamers get some distance. Spent about 3 hours total, 1 Hunter, 2 Warlords, 1 Cloak, 1 Ball of Golem. The Hunter is not to bad, the Warlord that had the cloak was tougher but the Warlord with the Ball was quite a fight. On that spawn, my sham got a slow in and was spamming heals till the end.
Five traps are basically start from SE corner of NE tower and run straight south. 3 above the ledge, 1 on the ledge, 1 below the ledge. A Rogue can pop all of them without breaking SoS. Mark your map and you are set.
best advice ive ever seen under this thread, referring to the spawn points. I have been trying to find the 5th spawn point forever, turns out it was literally right on the corner of the rock temple.
I think people should be rejoicing over just seeing this guy spawn since I've triggered about 15 traps and still haven't seen the warlord. So instead of keeping a log of how many warlords I've seen without getting the clay I guess I will have to keep one simply for the sighting of this mob.
Just dropped on the weekend for my Warrior, I actually seen two drop in approximately 15 kills. Trick is camping as many trap points you can over the span of 20 minutes. I was able to camp three - four of them with me and a cleric, both level 70 Anguish geared.
All depends on gear and AA. There's an Anguish-geared BL on my server that's soloed him; I box him with a Time/GoD (pre-Qvic) monk/shammy combo. Triples for a bit under 1k, fight takes a few minutes as he has a lot of hp.
the ball of clay is by far a rare drop from this guy. i killed him atleast 8 times one day while at ledge (bout a 16 hour camp that day) and he dropped the cloak every single time but i made a few guildies and random people and even a few pets happy.
spawns in front of temple , he is triggered and requires triggering a few traps , im still trying to get the info from our monk , an ancient veriki warrior can also spawn in closer area , most commonly spawned at "the ledge" camp
just keep killing the frogs that spawn in front of "ledge" camp. He will spawn there.
