His weapon quest gives you better faction with him.
Any idea if anything becomes available when somebody becomes ally?

just got ally with him:
getting plat for Mak'Stor, So'Shar, Ta'Nak, and Ga'Nak plat for turn in. was only getting gold prior to ally.
getting more plat for the Ch'Ror & Re'Stek--right around 25 plat and change for 4. was getting around 18 before ally.
getting positive faction hits for various cabilis factions--priceless. ;-)

I assume he's on Syrik Iceblood faction instead of having it as an opposite faction as listed?
yes! sorry i missed that. i've never killed him to see what factions go +/-, but somehow, i rather doubt he's on a faction against himself--then again, he is an iksar and they're an odd lot somedays. =D
