Be aware that everything else at the undead tower will agro on the putrid skellies and KS you if you are not careful.
Yes the Putrid Rib Bones drop.
Highly resistant to cold, disease and poison. (Using an 21 shammy, here). EDIT: Poison and disease dots never got past resist and cold only did about 1/3 normal damage.
Only seem to spawn at night.

They spawn at the structure at loc 4693, -898, 43. There are several skellie typs that spawn in the same area and that rib bone is not dropped every time

do the ones in qeynos hills have the faction (bloodsabers)
I have killed several of these skeletons in Qeynos hills and there is no faction listed on them at all (good or bad).

what location do these guys spawn at in QH....i am trying to do my second headband quest for the monks, and i can't find the skellies.

I have hunted them and they drop no-drop lore item bone chips. I can not find what these are for.
I just found it strange that some of the Putrid's conned Ready to attack and others conned Amiable to me... Strange indeed...

I killed one of these guys on the first level and looted 1p 5g and some coppers from him. Not bad!

Just wish everyone would pay attention to the original question(s) asked and answer them,and not waste time and space. Putrids in SK are NOT the same as in Qeynos Hills. QH drops ribs for monk head band quest! The SK putrids in addition to 'stackable' bone chips, drop 'lore' bone chips for an apparently,as yet undiscovered,or unshared quest! Any info pertaining to this would greatly be appreciated

One set of the lore bones that drops in SK is for the Dwarven Bones Quest at the Paladin's guild in Kaladim.

There are 6 lore bone chips that drop. They come from Tolon, Bozin, Westyn, Barger, Smyth iss, and Gandal the great, all after cursing you and telling you Bertoxxulous will get your hide. Have not been able to discover what they are for yet. Anyone that does please share.

so i made it over to SK for the first time at level 26, and i have never heard of bone chips that are lore items. what are they for? also, being a DE, is it wise for me to kill off these putrid skeles with the faction gain/loss it comes with? i dont who the Blood Sabers are, and i cant remember who Opal Darkbriar is. and Bertoxulous, why do they say he will be out to get me? i play on Mith Marr, name is Kiniden, or email me at andyvanslykeguy@aol.com, thanks!

Do the rib bones for the Monk quest only drop off p. skellies in s. karana, or from those in befallen as well?
Dunno if they nerfed the drop rate on these rib bones, but they are not no drop, and only drop off the lower level putrid skellys at skelly ruins in Qeynos Hills.
They're for the Yellow Headband which is a component needed for Monk Epic.

They also drop in Qeynos at the Ruins. The putrid skeles come mostly all green to my 15 cleric and are easily soloed.

The ones at the ruins in qey hills aren't good to kill except for the ribs because of the dreads that spawn nearby. putrids and skeles make decaying skeles not worth hunting. putrids make normal skeles not worth hunitng. dread corpses make putrids not worth hunting. putrids assist the dreads and make THEM not worth hunting. dreads are also just not common enough and that makes themselves not worth hunting.

Dreads not common enough been at the ruins in qhills for a bout an hour or 2 at least 15 dread corpse and about 5/6 putrids .. not one rib bone ... are these still in the game ... don`t tell me to go to SK as i checked there with a friend they not there

This has nothing to do with the monk quest -- you're confusing putrid rib bones for lore bone chips. Check Allakhazam's under the Qeynos quests; this is the "Crush the Undead" quest they are talking about. You combine the six lore bone chips in a box and turn it in, apparently you don't get much for it.

Actually you do not need to turn in Lore bone chips to do the quest in Qeynos.

The Dwarf Putrid is the brothe rof one of the paladin guild leader is Kaladim. You need Dwarf Bones to complete a quest. They are the bones of his brother, Cromil.

in sk they are much higer.... i as a the undead spot for bonechips and one conned blue at 17 but most are green

These putrids in SK are just south of the bridge to NK. These putrids do not cast the disease spell, nor drop a rib bone for the monk quest. They are good for building faction in Qeynos. One will occasionally spawn as a dwarf putrid, which drops dwarf bones (quest in Qeynos I believe). This dwarf putrid is also the PH for Lord Grimrot, the undead version, who supposedly spawns where Ghanex Drah spawns.

Just to clear up, the dwarf putrid targets as "a putrid skeleton" just like the rest of them, but it's much shorter than the others. There's also "a dwarf skeleton" which is the placeholder. Cromil's Remains ("Dwarf Bones", return them to Gunlok Jure in Kaladim) drop from the undersized putrid skeleton, not from the dwarf skeleton. At level 16 at most one (and usually no) other putrid would aggro when I pulled that dwarf putrid. The dwarf skeleon/dwarf putrid are next to the fallen stand by the tree. Ghanex Drah spawned at an upright stand a bit further south in that camp.

They do cast a spell, it's putrid something, it's a slow DoT a little bit less damage than your healing rate, you need 3 ribs from these guys for the monk headband quest
