Charm one of the lower level highborns, Once hasted some pet toys etc they lay into Sythrax rather easily. I use this Orb of Tishan . I equip it to a higborn then fd. Charm a new highborn fight and then fight the highborne that I just equipped. Most likely the highborn you are fighting will proc Tishani on your charmed Highborne giving it great potential to last full duration.Once you defeat the highborn equipped with the orb of Tishan you will get it back. I use these highborns to clear up to remains of sythrax and including him. These guys own.
After killing the place holder and the mob it self 7 times got the hooked sohar but only have my rog (Byby) near enough the zone to get it. So will need to keep it up for my War toon
Hits for up to 700's.. Enrages @ 10% & summons.. Soloed it with my 70 paladin.. 672 AA's.. Fight lasted long enough HoT (36 secs) which faded that I had casted before casting AA stun.. At 11% right before he enraged I dropped another slay and finished him off, was funny cause he didnt get to enrage on me... Edited, Nov 24th 2007 7:58am by stosstruppen
Ok so heres the down low for all you kids that wanna know whats up with Sythrax. I;ve been camping him with 68 beast and 70 cleric for 4 days now. Seen him pop ONCE yes thats right ONCE. spawn rates are TOTAlly random and his PH is a revenant they are on a 17 minute spawn cycle and its really boring, hope i get the sword for myr anja =P
Rough estimate of HPs is 50k. Each wave of Rain of Jerikor (1099 dmg) took off 2% of HP. Summons, enrages, fully slowable (landed on first try after resist debuff). Does not rampage or flurry or have any other sort of effect that I noticed. Popped his spot 14 times, only one named out of those. Dropped Kunzar Tu'Lal.
Good estimate. According to GamParse my 70 bard did 59,269 damage on it (solo w. merc. healer) in 426 seconds for a lousy 139 DPS. It hit max for 741 (10 times for 2.08%), min for 126 (twice for 0.42%), and avg. was 345.
Solo'd Remains of Sythrax today. Only had buffs i could cast or click. Was very close fight, DI went off twice, and had zero mana at the end. Blameless and Retribution did most of the work, while proc'ing with hammer of holy vengence and deepsky stone as Hammer spell pet helped. Would have been a little easier if remembered to click skin of flame potion too <smacks self>. Kept pious elixir (with Healing Boon 3 ) up while fighting , patching with remedy as needed. With tribue, AC 2200+ and have 9.5k hp, and almost 9k mana. Dropped the Hooked So'Shar. Fun diversion from watching those health bars :)

yes this guy is way to easy. I duo him with my 65 pally which has 225aa and buffed around 1950ac 9600hp 1700atk and my 65 shammy with 95aa 5800hp. I normally cast stunn to get agro then have the shammy malo and slow him at that point i use my Holyforge disc and the fight is over. I keep Q on my pally and the fight last about 45secs-a little over a min with the disc and SU3.
Soloed him today as a ranger. The only outside buff I had was KEI, and I have 7523 hp's self buffed. Mana was the determining factor, and keeping my mana up was the hardest part of the fight. I tried once before without KEI and got him to 17% but ran out of mana. With KEI I finished him with 35% left. The tactic was rooting and shooting. Healing after backing out after getting summoned. The second try I made sure to have sow on so I could back out of his melee range faster, and I even threw a shield on to bring my ac to 1900. It was a very fun fight, and btw, he dropped a bracer.
Just solo'ed this guy. Hits really hard 772ish on me (65 druid with 670aaxp and Time+ gear 8khps 7200 mana buffed) and I dropped alot of heals on myself to win. The steps: 1. Don't clear to him. That's a waste of mana. Just run past the mobs and up the stairs. If you agro more than 1 of the other mobs then I would suggest just egressing to zi and gate back to your safe bind spot (You know you can bind in Veksar, right?) 2. Root/Rot the sissy Highborn in the middle of the room. You now have 18 mins before repop. 3. Fully buff (if you haven't) including Skin of Flame which stacks with all other druid damage shields = 87ds 4. Root Remains 5. Snare Remains 6. Rot Remains 7. When he summons...back up. In fact, a good idea is to have your back to the wall when he gets ready to summon and just continue backing up till you get summoned. 8. When he triple rounds you for about 2200 you might wanna start healing yourself - quickish.
there ya go - the druid solo.

Ohh, he dropped the bracer for me and nothing else. Just as the servers were about to go down
I dont have a lot of aa's or gear, so i cant take a hit from remains ; which eats my rune and does 600+ damage in the first hit. This is how i learned to SOLO him after a few deaths. Mezz the closest highborn and slow it, use orb of tashina and melee till it procs (if ur 1hb is low enough u can keep highborn mezzed till orb procs). once u get it tashed fd somewhere safe and wait for slow to wear off. Put ur best cha gear on and charm it. Kill your way to remains. Haste highborn and heal it. Send pet on remains and slow asap. heal pet while it kills. Slowed remains will kill your pet if u dont help it. Use /pet hold once remains gets to 9% if u can and send pet once its no longer enraged. Hope this helps someone =)
My group and I have been camping the area for the Iksar Highborn, Kylong Crusador and Remains from the point where you first drop down near the ramp. We have a group of 6 mostly 65 with a 65 shaman on the side for buffs, and the kills are no problem. However, he's a very slow spawn. We camped him last night for about 8 hours and only saw him once. In the last week, we've seen him a total of 5 times, and unfortunately he has dropped the parry blade EVERY time. We're very frustrated at this! We're going to continue to camp him another day or 2 and hopefully get some of his other drops.
if your necro 65 and you got your 65charm... as long as you can get your charm to stay the whole fight your good... i always bind near the ramp to the goblins outside the building, cause my charms breaks alot b4 the fight has ended... sometimes you can fd sometimes you cant oh well, get someone to rez you after you kill him
This is a nightly camp for friends and i, 65 cleric, 65 necro, sometimes 65 warrior. Necro has soloed him, Long as you stop attacking on enrage he seems to be cake!
As an update, in the last hour he has poped for us 3 times, this last time was back to back, dropped hate proc sword woot! This last time he dropped Ritual Talisman of Fate, he's dropped this lovely neck twice this week!
I just thought i would add in my 2 cents to killing this mob if you are undermanned or your team isnt high enough level. This mob is mezzable =) <with the two highest level enchanter mezzes> I usually mez him, tash, slow, cripple, mark of karn/righteousness <i 2-box a cleric> then remezz, mem blur while a tank is taunting... when you either see the message saying hes been aggroed for the first time or after 3 memblurs <even if it didn't work your tank will have built up enough aggro by then> then enjoy =) just remember to reslow during the fight if your just killing with this 3man team <enc/clr/war>. Btw this works great for soloing him with a CoD hasted HB commander <well i think it works solo, always had a cleric to ch him>. very fun mob in general
Soloed him the first time tonight. Here's what happened.
Took around 3 hours for him to spawn. Around 20 min re-pop time.
He is in the room by him self, so really you never have to leave that room or kill anything but him or his PHer.
Max he hit me was 772 (might hit harder however).
I charmed a highborn from outside his room and hasted it.
I got him down to around 50% 3 times when charm broke... and many times it broke even sooner. I died once but after I quit necro rez I went at him again. Almost every time I was able to run away after the double summon and get off FD (made sure not to be under his spawn point).
Finaly I got a charm to last all the way though... fight took around 2 mins but seemed a LOT longer... charmed pet only needed a few heals just to keep him above 50%.
When the remains got down to 9% it enraged. I let the pet take it because I didn't want charm to break this late in the fight. When my charmed pet died I got summoned and I lifetap tanked him down the last 9%. I was pretty happy =)
The long camp. As we were farming in Veksar for the first time, a few guildies and I. We found out some good xp in the hands/nobles/remains camp. After I came back with two of my friends Reamins of Synthrax was up so we decided to risk it.
The pull. First Step. The first thing to do is to clear every mobs around until you can reach and target properly the reamins of Synthrax. Second Step. As the room is cleared, get everyone to full mana and send a tuff Ac/HP player to pull him. Third Step. I'd say it would be important to get it Malos'ed (level 65 shaman spell) before attempting any slows because this mob hits in the 800s. As the mob is slow'ed, just melee it til death, he does summon and Enrages.
well guys i was a little bit intimidated reading all the post on how bad he was, I just took him down with a 65 pally and a 65 shammy, not a single problem at all when that enrage hit i just chain stunned him and let the shammy pet and dots do my work for me, hes about the same as a Kriger in BoT, he droped the Tuk'nak parry blade i must say thats a nice graphic.
